Roedeer

Yesterday I still had these lovely roses in bloom in front of our house. And I was so pleased that they are still in bloom even though it is the end of September.

But, this morning they were gone. I am pretty sure it was the roe deers that thought they were a good choice  for breakfast. Hmm.

Worked an extra long day today and packed away about 200 binders that we will send to a client for their keeping. Puh. After dinner tonight we enjoyed our spa for a bit – just what my sore back and neck needed. Still have to wait another couple of weeks before my next massage appointment. Fingers crossed my poor body will make it thru this office move.

Funeral HM Queen Elizabeth II

On September 8th, 2022, the Queen of the United Kingdom passed away at the age of 96. She spent 70 years on the throne. Impressive. We saw a peak of her on our visit to Scotland back in 2018 – her car drove right by us when we visited Balmoral and she waived to us. Special moment.

Our royal family website has the following announcement today;

“On Monday 19 September, Their Majesties The King and Queen will attend the state funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II in London. The day of the funeral will also be marked by flags being flown at half-mast and a Seraphim Toll in Stockholm.

The King and Queen will represent Sweden during Monday’s state funeral at Westminster Abbey in London. On the Sunday, The King and Queen will attend a reception hosted by the King of the United Kingdom at Buckingham Palace.”

“Queen Elizabeth II was made a member of the Royal Order of the Seraphim by King Gustaf VI Adolf on 26 May 1953. The Queen was presented with the chain of the Order of the Seraphim by HM The King on 23 May 1975. Queen Elizabeth held the Order of the Seraphim for 69 years – longer than anyone else – and was the 722nd member of the Order since it was established in 1748.

In keeping with tradition, the bell of the Riddarholmen Church will be rung between 12:00 and 13:00 on the day of the funeral. The Queen’s Seraphim arms will be taken in a procession from the Royal Palace to the Riddarholmen Church at 11:45.

The church will be open to the public and the media.”

Sunny day

Hubby left after breakfast to help our brother-in-law take stuff to the waste disposal site and at the same time take all our hedge trimmings there too. Great to work together!

While they were busy doing that I did the  laundry, ironing, lunch and also made an apple crumble with some of the apples we got from my parents yesterday.

Tonight we bbq a flank steak and now after dinner we enjoyed the spa for a bit. Now we’ve started to watch “Devil in Ohio” – a new series on Netflix.

Hedge-trimming

Couldn’t sleep this morning so I got up and had a quiet breakfast while watching a program about “Grand designs”. Quite amazing how they can build houses on far away places.

We started to trim our hedge when we got back from our round of errands and worked until lunch. I helped raking all the branches until it was time to prepare lunch. Me and my youngest went over to my parents in the afternoon to help them with some things while my hubby and oldest finished trimming and raking. I stayed for a bit and watched the soccer game.

We had a nice dinner and now me and m hubby are watching a rental “The Northman” to end a very productive Saturday. One more day of the weekend to enjoy. Yeah.

Dinner treat

Woah – finally Friday! Have spent the last two weeks with my colleagues and it’s been great fun. BUT – can’t say I’m not looking forward to this weekend. A lot! We need to cut the hedge (if the weather allows) so it’s going to be a weekend with hard work.

Picked up a sirloin steak on the way home and cooked steak with potatoes gratin for dinner served with some accessories. And a glass of red for me.

Now we’re watching the first episode of “Better call Saul” – a prequel to “Breaking Bad”. Let’s see if it is something for us.

Hard work

A very busy day at work with the big clear-out that we are going thru right now. Taking care of tons and tons of documents, scanning and sorting, returning to clients or throwing away in the confidentiality trash. And the tons and tons of paper have been in a lot of binders.. that need to be handled too. Puh.

Got home on time and had a nice dinner together with my family. Left-overs for me and hubby, chicken with pasta for the boys. Now we’ve crashed in our corners watching the second part of the “Morden i Sandhamn” – quite good!

Tuning time 🎹

Today I met up with both my sons for a lunch in town. Lovely. Warms my mother-heart!

We arrived home just in time to welcome the piano tuner I had booked. My old piano tuner has retired so I needed to find a new one. Found this person online and he did a great job, so I am happy. Will hire him again in a couple of years when it is time to service my piano again.

Taking turns

Long Tuesday and a rainy one too. Very busy day all day long and I had to stay on a bit. And then worked some more when I got back home.

Now me and the boys are fed and ready for the evening. Hubby is away on a business thing tonight – his turn to sleep somewhere else for the night.

Now I’m going to relax for a bit and enjoy a quiet evening infront of the TV.

New week

A bit tough to get up this morning after this weekend packed with fun things. But, it was just to get up and get on with the day.

After work I had an appointment at the hairdressers and now I’m a new woman again with and inch or so shorter and slightly darker hair again.

I took this photo of the “Öresundsbron” from the airplane yesterday. So cool how the bridge dives right into the canal and the tunnel under the water. I have gone over the bridge several times but never realized that it looks like this from above.

Xmas gift

After another amazing breakfast the rest of my colleagues went to continue the weekends’ program while I went out to the airport by myself to catch an earlier flight back to get home in time for my Xmas-present! I made it just in time even though my flight was a bit late.

First we met up at an Italian restaurant to enjoy a delicious pasta. Then we went to see the show “Hybris” at the Cirkus Arena. We had a great time – the actors were amazing and we laughed out loud several times. So nice to spend a lovely evening together! Thank you for a great gift!
