Fifth day – one more medal

Another day filled with sports and first medal of the day went to Henrik Harlaut with a bronze in Big Air. Yeah! Go Henrik! (photo TV4)

Short day today so I was able to relax a bit after work and watch our Swedish men’s team play curling towards China. We won!

A very windy day – the clouds move in high speed across the sky. Quite sunny, no snow left (hardly) and a few degrees above 0C. Winter seems far away again. Longing for spring.

Fourth day – three more medals

What a day – three more medals to Sweden and we are once again back in the top of the medal-league. Yeah!

Started the day with a bronze for our mixed curling-team. Then our ladies Sundling and Dahlqvist won both gold and silver in the cross-country freestyle sprint. Yeah!

More great news – our figure skater Majorov managed to go thru to the finals and also our ice hockey ladies won their last two games and therefore qualified for the quarter finals. Yeah!

Puh. What a day. Now we are going to enjoy our spa for a bit. Niiiccee!

Third day – third gold

New week and a great start! The gigant slalom event was postponed some which gave me a chance to watch it before work. Yeah! And Sara won! Our third gold so far.

Busy day with a lot to do. After work me and my oldest went to the local hairdresser for a well over-due haircut. When we arrived back home I was able to watch our Swedish ladies win their first hockey game in this tournament. If we win tomorrow too we are thru to the quarter finals. Fingers crossed.

Made burgers with boiled potatoes and brown sauce for dinner. Mmm. Served with panfried onions, pickled cucumbers, lingonberry jam and veggies. Not bad for a Monday dinner.

Olympics 2022 Beijing

The winter olympics in Beijing has started and Sweden took our first medal yesterday – a gold one – in men’s mogul freestyle skiing. Walter Wallberg. Yeah!

Our troop consists of 118 athletes – spread out in 11 of the 15 different sports that is represented in this years olympics.

Second gold medal today – in men’s 5000m speed skating. Congratulations, Nils van den Poel! First medal in speed skating for Sweden in 34 years! Yeah! And on Friday he is participating in the 10000m run too – fingers crossed he’ll land another medal!

A quiet day – trying to relax and regain energy for next week. Our vacuum cleaner died the other day so we went to buy a new one after lunch. Found one we liked – hopefully it will do the trick.

Made chicken tikka masala for dinner – thai chicken for our youngest. Our oldest is spending some time with his friends today so he’s having dinner with them.

Mello 1

Time for the first part of the Melodifestivalen. The stupid pandemic is still causing problems even though they just removed the restrictions to gather a lot of people as of Feb 9th. The Mello 1-3-shows will take place in Avicii Arena (former Globe Arena) and the last 3 events (Mello 4, semi and final) will take place in Friends Arena.

Due to the pandemic we will not meet up with our friends (at least for this first weekend when the restrictions are still on) and watch it together either. Maybe we’ll meet up via Zoom, we’ll see.

New host this year is Oscar Zia with Farah Abadi as sidekick.

Part 1:
1. Malou Prytz – Bananas
2. Theoz – Som du vill – semi finals
3. Shirley Clamp – Let there be angels
4. Omar Rudberg – Moving like that Paul Rey
5. Danne Stråhed – Hallabaloo – semi finals
6. Cornelia Jacobs – Hold me closer – finale
7. Robin Bengtsson – Innocent love – finale

Sweden got talent

Soo exciitiing! My oldest niece is competing on TV tonight in Sweden got talent – Talang. She is part of the dance group The Move Company. Fingers crossed they will get approved by the judges and can continue in the competition. *so proud*

A semi busy/quiet day at work. Had the TV on the last hour to watch the opening of the Olympics in Beijing. So very impressive and well executed but I didn’t think it would be any less than that with it being in China. They are such perfectionists and excellent in visual effects.

Now me and my oldest have been out walking for 60 min to pick up a package. After about 10 min it started to rain and by the end of our walk we were soaked. Lol. But, we got a lot of fresh air, a nice chat and a lot of steps. Let the weekend begin!

Olympics early start

This morning our women hockey team started the Olympic tournament facing Japan in the first game. They lost. Not great. They are playing in Group B which means the top 3 teams qualify for the next round. 2 teams are out. Group A are automatically qualified for the play-offs. Fingers crossed we won’t be one of the two teams that won’t go thru.

The big grand opening of the games is tomorrow. Should be interesting to see how this Olympic Games will turn out – with all the corona spreading around keeping athletes in quarantine and not able to participate. I hope and pray that most of the events that we are interested in watching will be shown on hours when we are able to watch them. Always tricky with the time difference.

White orchids

Midweek and my short day. After lunch I went for a walk – finally. Didn’t go that far though, only about 30 min, but it was nice to get some sun and fresh air.

The rest of the family was busy with school and work so I got some me-time. Made a fish casserole for dinner – pizza for the boys.

Now we’re going to enjoy an episode of “All creatures great and small” (I vår Herres hage) – a new season just started the other day. We love that series! So charming with a lot of love and character.

Tuesday

Tuesday and long day at work. It was quite sunny during the day but since I was working I couldn’t enjoy the afternoon sun. Except from thru the windows. Fingers crossed the sun will be back tomorrow when I get off early. Then maybe I can go for a walk.

Made myself a salad for lunch and then we had beef for dinner with potatoes and green pepper sauce. Love our dinners when we sit down all four of us and chat for a bit.
