Mello 3

Time for the third part of the Mello events. Last time in the Avicii Arena – next weekend they move to Friends Arena.

Since I had to work all day at the office we didn’t have any energy to see anyone or go anywhere tonight. So, me and my youngest will share a mini-bottle of bubbly.  One need bubbly on Mello eves. That is a given.

Tonight the following songs are competing;

Part 3:
1. Cazzi Opeia – I can’t get enough – semi
2. Lancelot – Lyckligt slut
3. Lisa Miskovsky – Best to come – semi
4. Tribe Friday – Shut me up
5. Faith Kakembo – Freedom – finale
6. Lisa Bengtzing – Fyrfaldigt hurra!
7. Anders Bagge – Bigger than the universe – finale

Almost..

Recorded the hockey game this afternoon since I had to work so I could watch it when I got back home. Semi finals towards Russia. 1-1 after full time. 1-1 after 10 extra minutes. Shootouts. Still no winner after 5 attempts each. Then one shoot at a time. And it took 3 extra shoots from each team before Russia managed to score a goal and won. Bummer. So, bronze game tomorrow for our pride and joy. Towards Slovakia. Fingers crossed.

We did manage to land another medal today though – Martin Ponsiluoma came in second in the 15k mass start biathlon today. Yeah!

This weekend we have a lot of work planned at the office so I will go in tomorrow morning. With some luck we’ll get everything done in one day. Otherwise I will spend Sunday there too.

Skicross gold

What a day – but we got so much done and I ticked most of my to-do-things today. Felt good.

This morning our skicross star Sandra Näslund managed to win a gold medal. She came in 4th last Olympics so this was really her turn. Congrats!

Strolled thru the city after work to get some air and move a bit. The glas statue is lit up with yellow lights right now. Looked quite pretty.

Got home and made dinner for the troops. Now I’ve crashed in front of the TV. Tomorrow is another day.

A day filled with medals

New medals today – a bronze in slope-style to Jesper Tjäder. Yeah!

A gold in the Biathlon 4x6k for women (Persson/Brorsson/Öberg/E. Öberg). Yeah!

And a silver in women’s Teamsprint (Dahlqvist/Sundling). Yeah!

After work I went over to my parents for a nice chat and a coffee (and a treat!). Quality time! And also to watch our pride and joy Tre Kronor win over Canada 2-0 in the ice hockey quarter final. Yeah!

Semi final awaits towards the Russian team. The game is played on Friday afternoon – need to record it so I can watch it when I get back from work. Finland will be facing Slovakia. Three teams out of four from our group reached the semi finals. Tough group!

Back to the office

Today it was time to get back to the real world again and start commuting to work. It was quite crowded going in this morning but ok. I wore my mask.

A very hectic but fun day. So nice to see everyone again. I think I got most of the things done that I had planned for the day.

Dead tired after a long first day. My hubby made dinner and I could sit down to a set table and have dinner with my family. Perfect. Now we’re going to enjoy the spa for a bit and with some luck I will sleep like a rock tonight (not toss and turn like last night).

Valentine’s day ❤

All hearts day – as we call Valentine’s day in my country. A box of sugar coated jelly hearts for my family to share is also part of our tradition. Mmm.

Short day today – quite busy. A lot of planning och organizing to do this week. And I also need to work this weekend – hopefully only on Saturday but also Sunday depending on how it goes. Planning a day off the following week.

Took my youngest to his appointment after work and now I am enjoying some me-time watching curling on TV before it is time to start dinner. As of tomorrow I will be working from the office in town again. Looking forward to seeing everyone – haven’t been in since early December.

TV Sunday

Yesterday we managed to achieve a new olympic medal – a bronze in the women’s 4×5 km cross country skiing.

The men didn’t manage to replicate the ladies achievement but ended up in 4th place in the 4×10 km skiing. So great race but no medal.

Biathlon hunting start events today – ladies 10k and mens 12,5k – and Elvira Öberg managed to land another medal for Sweden. Another silver. Her second. The men didn’t have a good day – no medals today.

Our hockeyteam managed to loose a 3-0 win to a 4-3 loss on overtime towards Finland. Hmm. So close. But, it will still be enough to go thru to the quarter finals being the best second place in total and no need for a qualification round with 8th finals. Russia is also in the quarters. Last group remains to be played.

Mello 2

Weekend again and time for the second part of this years Mello.

Last week the app to vote via was not functioning and the voting disaster was a fact. Again. Fingers crossed it will work better tonight – I guess they loose tons of voters when the app is not working and people have to call or text to vote instead. Which costs money for the voters. Anyway.

One of my friends sister is competing tonight – she is the lead singer in Browsing Collection. Go Mimi!

Tonight the following are competing;

Part 2:
1. Liamo – Bluffin – finale
2. Niello & Lisa Ajax – Tror du jag bryr min
3. Samira Manners – I want to be loved
4. Alvaro Estrella – Suave – semi finals
5. Browsing Collection – Face in the crowd
6. John Lundvik – Änglavakt – finale
7. Tone Sekelius – My Way – semi finals

Celebrations!

What a Friday! One silver in the women’s biathlon 7,5k run – the youngest of the two Öberg-sisters (Elvira) did great with a perfect shooting score. And one gold in the men’s 10k skating with a new world record – Nils van den Poel did it again! Yeah!

Today it is my mother-in-laws birthday and she has invited a few friends and family to a dinner-party at a restaurant in town by the water. Also they are celebrating 60 years of marriage this year so extra cause for celebration!

So nice to go out for a change and hopefully it will be safe for everyone to participate. The restrictions are gone and we are allowed to slowly go back to some sort of normal life again. We had a lovely time with great food and entertainment and it was a very nice evening. She got a lot of presents and I think she had a good day.

Happy birthday! Thank you so much for a lovely evening!

Busy Thursday

A day filled with emotions – in new meetings, fun discussions, decisions, considerations, frustration, joy, worry, disappointment, anger, challenges, commitment, compromise… a day that really drained all my energy reserves.

Oh – and no new medals today ..

After a day like today it is nice to be thinking back of a special evening this summer when we went for a long walk in a nature reserve on Öland looking for this great stag beetle. We didn’t find one but somehow that wasn’t important. We saw a lot of other animals, had great conversations in the lovely surroundings, enjoyed some peace & quiet, watched the sun set and took a lot of fantastic photos.

I’m so grateful to have special memories to gain strength from and think back of. And maybe we’ll come across one of these beetles next time. Who knows?
