Booked #3

Finally we were offered to book the booster shot but we were not the only ones so the first available time was in two weeks. January 26th is our date – for both of us. My sis was quicker than we were and is getting hers this week already. Good for her!

Took my youngest for a check-up this morning so I attended the weekly morning meeting from our car while waiting for him. Teams is great – a whole new world has opened with loads of possibilities. A crazy busy day today with a lot of invoicing and other things to get done.

Xmas ham

Back to work again after some time off. New updated restrictions today with even stricter policies in society on how many people allowed to be in the same room, to avoid crowds and work from home as much as possible etc etc. So, I guess we’ll be here together in our house for a bit longer.

I had quite a busy morning and got a lot done. After work I made myself a salad with the last piece of our Xmas ham. Yum. Tonight we had sirloin steak. Just because we deserved a treat.

Holiday almost up

Sunday already. We’ve been busy sorting out Xmas – washing curtains and table cloths, ironing, vacuuming etc. We’ll keep the window lights for a bit longer.

After lunch we went for a drive to return some things to my sister, pick up a curtain I had ordered and also deliver something to my father-in-law. We stayed for a tea and a chat which was nice.

Still no news regarding our booster shot – our six months was yesterday – but hopefully we’ll get our invitation next week. We want to take it as soon as possible.

Taco Sunday tonight – something that all four of us enjoy. Perfect. Tomorrow we will go back to work and school. Busy week ahead.

Family dinner

Time for the beef roulade dinner that we usually are treated on Xmas day at my parents. But, this year we had to postpone the dinner a bit and today it was time!

So lovely to see my parents and sis w/ family – all together in their house for the first time in two years. Wow. So special. And my mother had prepared a great dinner with a shrimp toast starter, followed by this treat on the photo served with a nice red wine, then a cheese- and olive platter with crackers, finally cake and coffee.

We ended the evening with a couple of rounds of Bingo – haven’t played that in years. A very special day and great to be together.

Thank you, mom & dad. Love you!

Early start

Friday already. Where did this week go? Only the weekend left and then I go back to work again. But, it’s been a great time off and I am so grateful for it.

Got up early this morning and took my oldest to the hospital for some tests. -13C. Brrrr. Fortunately my hubby got up even earlier to go to the gym so we could use a warm car and a snow-free driveway when he got back home. Thank you.

Love my lanterns in our bathroom. They are bought on Ahlséns on Öland and I have two hanging ones and one standing one. I put tea candles in them with a timer so they go on every day by themselves. Perfect.

Twelfth Day

Day off! We managed to sleep in a bit this morning and woke up to a very cold winter wonderland. -8C and sunny. So, after breakfast we went for a nice 3k walk and watched the skiers, skaters and people walking on the frozen lake.

Made chicken teriyaki for lunch and then I’ve been working on my photo album for 2021. Managed to finish it and send the order. Yeah. I had prepared most of it – just needed to add Xmas and New Years and make some final touches.

Also, I’ve started on my new jigsaw puzzle with a Tokidoki-pattern. It’s from a series called “Impossible puzzles”. Might take me a while. Lol.

Completed

Managed to complete my puzzle with a view over Iceland that I borrowed from my parents. It was really tricky with a lot of pieces that could fit in more than one place. So, it took me a while.

A relaxing day for me working on my puzzle and watching some tv. My hubby and sons were busy with work & school stuff from home. It’s been snowing all afternoon so now it is a winter wonderland outside again. I haven’t been for a walk today – but my youngest did and came back all snowy.

New setback with the corona virus – more restrictions might come within short. I guess we’ll be working from home for a while longer. Hopefully we will be offered our booster-shot soon. On Saturday it’s been 6 months since the second shot.

Walk with son

The phone woke me up at 07.50 this morning so I got up and fixed a few things for work but was able to get the rest of the day off. Great.

After lunch me and my oldest went for a 3k walk. The sun is setting already around 2 PM so it is still getting dark pretty early. A lot of ice in the trail but no snow left. Glad I have my icebug-shoes with the studs under. Perfect for walking on icy roads.

Almost completed the puzzle – I will continue tomorrow when there is some sunlight again. Now it is too dark and the ceiling lamp isn’t enough. I love working on puzzles – glad I have one more after this one!

Pie

Monday and I’m off from work all week (hopefully). I’ve taken it easy, done some laundry, leftover lunch, took a short walk around the block, working on the jigsaw puzzle, watched some TV.

Made a minced meat pie for dinner – made the crust from scratch. Nice to cook some real food when I have the time. Hopefully I will have plenty of time all week.

Now the rain is pouring down and winter seems far away. It is completely dark outside – and even darker now when all the snow is gone. But, it’s only January 3rd so I guess winter will return soon again.

Mindfulness

Another lazy relaxing day with a lot of time in front of the tv, reading my book and working on the jigsaw-puzzle I borrowed from my parents.

We went to get some groceries before lunch – ran in to my sis and chatted for a bit – but other than that we haven’t done much use.

A perfect end of a nice weekend. I’m off next week too, but my hubby and the boys are busy with work and school. From our house for the most part.
