Friday again. It had been snowing last night so we woke up to a winter wonderland . A very busy day packed with meetings and things to do.
But, now I’m enjoying some peace and quite gathering some energy for the handball game that starts in a bit. Tonight we are facing Poland.
No plans for the weekend – just time off and relax. Perfect.
Sweden vs. Russia
Time for the middle round in the tournament and our first opponent is Russia. We played well and our goalie had a good game so we managed to win. Yeah.
Three more games to go. And we need to win most of them in order to advance in the tournament and reach the semifinals.
A long day at work and Thursday already. Tomorrow I have a day filled with meetings but hopefully I will be able to get off in time and maybe we can go for our Friday walk. Fingers crossed.
Windy and grey
Midweek and short day for me. But, grey, windy and almost raining outside so no afternoon walk. Instead I started to watch this series I was recommended. Found on SVT play. It’s about maternity home for young unmarried women in Australia in the 1960s. A bit like Midwife Calling – my favorite series. Anyway, I’ve only seen a couple of episodes but so far so good.
Handball back tomorrow and we are in group #2. Six teams in each group – four games to play (you don’t have to face the team from your own group from the first round). The winning team from the first round get to keep two points to start with. We came 2nd so no free points for us. Top two in each group qualifies for the semi finals.
Me-time
Took my oldest to his treatment this morning so I got some me-time while waiting. A nice cup of latte and a sunbun. Because I was worth it.
Everything went well and we got back home in a couple of hours.
Worked a long day and had quite a lot to do all afternoon. Started early this morning too with some things that needed to be completed before I got back home again.
No handball tonight – the last two groups are playing their finishing games tonight. Then the main round starts. And Sweden is still in the tournament. Yeah.
Handball
The weekends go by way too quick. But, what a lovely weekend we had. More of those, pls.
Worked some extra hours today since I was alone on admin.
After work I got some time on my hands so I sowed two pillows for our bedroom out of the curtain I bought the other day. They turned out pretty good! I’m happy.
Tonight we have an important handball game – last game in this round. If we win (or tie) – we go thru to the next round. If we loose we’re out. So fingers crossed!
PS! We tied so we managed to toggle thru to the next round. Puh!
Boostershot ✔
A bit tired today… for well known reasons. Lol. Oh well, after breakfast we decided to try the drop-in for covid-shots. We got there shortly before it opened and there were about 25 people in front of us. But, 30 min later we had received our booster shots and we are now fully vaccinated all four of us. Yeah.
So, now we have cancelled the reservation we had in two weeks. Great that we could do it now instead and not having to wait or take time off from work either.
A lazy day in my corner watching “Stjärnorna på slottet” among other things. Just enjoying a coffee, some snacks and relaxing. Getting ready for a new week of work.
Friends
A busy Saturday with nice weather. We did our usual chores and enjoyed our day off.
Tonight we were invited to our dear friends house for a perfect evening. A small gathering of six friends felt corona safe and good for the soul. No hugs or sitting too close though.
A nice glas of bubbly to say hello and start the evening. Then a delicious three course dinner with a toast for starters, elk stew for main and a lovely afters with a home made oatmeals cone filled with ice cream and fresh raspberries. What a treat! Thank you!
We stayed and chatted half the night and arrived home way past midnight. A perfect evening with a lot of conversation and things to talk about and catch up on. We haven’t done this in years. Hopefully it won’t be that long until next time.
Impossible puzzle
Me and my oldest went for a long walk this afternoon but it was a bit more of a challenge than we signed up for. So slippery and ice everywhere. Dangerous! But, we managed to complete the walk with no broken bones so that was good.
I completed the impossible puzzle! It took me longer than it usually does – but to call it impossible was a bit exaggerated. A lot of fun to put together! Loved it. Next project will be a sowing-one though. We’ll see how that turns out.
We picked up some thai-food tonight. We haven’t had that in ages so it was a nice treat to start the weekend.
Tournament
Long Thursday and a day with no errands or places to be. Just work work work.
It was very uncertain whether this tournament (European Men’s Handball Championship) would be able to take place or not – but it started according to plan and Sweden played the first game tonight facing Bosnia-Herzegovina. Win 30-18!
So now we hopefully have a few weeks of great handball to look forward to. Sweden is part of group E (7 groups / 28 teams in total) together with Spain, Czechia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Top two qualifies for next round. Saturday is the next game – towards Spain.
Dentist
Midweek already and another appointment at the hospital for a checkup. For my oldest this time. With the pandemic restrictions I’m not allowed to attend the meetings and the waiting area was decorated with these people to keep me company. Lol.
After work I went to a dentist appointment. Might need to keep an eye on a tooth that has a crack in it so it doesn’t get infected with caries and needs a root canal like a few years ago. Don’t want to go there again so I’m hoping this won’t happen.
Had to work a few hours when I arrived back home to make up some of the time from this morning. But, now I’m ready for my corner and some lazy time in front of the TV after a hectic day.
