A grey rainy Saturday. Most of the snow is gone in our back yard. Not very inspirational weather for a walk either.
We’ve been grocery shopping and doing our regular Saturday rounds. Picked up some stuff that had arrived.
An otherwise rather lazy day watching sports on TV. Right now biathlon. Later on tonight handball. Two more weeks to work before Xmas. A strange year but hopefully we will be able to celebrate Xmas together as a family again. All 12 of us. Fingers crossed.
Friday again – weekend here we come! Decided to pick up some dinner tonight. I chose a fish burger and the others chose chicken skewers. All served with fries. Because we deserved it.
Tonight it is the final in the Swedish Idol song competition. I think our votes goes to Birkir – but we like Jacqline better and historically the ones in second place have a greater chance in doing a career. So – go Birkir!
Today my youngest was discharged from hospital. Yeah! Finally family back together again. We celebrated with a nice dinner and home made lasagna. So nice to see both my sons by the table again. I will sleep like a baby tonight, I think. It’s been an emotional exhausting week, but hopefully we can put the worst behind us for now. And fingers crossed me and my hubby can get our third shot soon too – but I guess we’ll have to wait for another month or so.
Today a lot more people wore a mask than yesterday. But still not nearly enough – maybe 2-3/ 10 instead of 1/10. Should be 10/10.
Got an all clear at my health checkup – yeah. Great. And I talked to my son for a bit and maybe maybe he can be checked out from hospital within a day or two. Yeah! And my oldest made progress with things at school that has been stressing him. Yeah. Great day.
As of tomorrow I am working from home again for a week or so to begin with. Then we’ll see what the restrictions say and what the recommendations are about commuting.
-20C this morning. And I had to go to work. Packed myself with layer-on-layer going to work in case the bus would be late and I would have to wait outside for a while. But, everything went well and the day at work just flew by – so busy. Going to be there tomorrow too but after that I will go back to working from home for a bit.
New recommendations out today – to work from home if the work situation so allows. Wear a mask when commuting. Avoid crowds. Keep a distance when possible. No news really – but focus is back again.
My hubby received a tea-calendar for his birthday with a Moomin theme. So now we are enjoying a new flavor of tea every night. Served in a cute little box with “hattifatteners” (Sw: hattifnattar).
Spent the first couple of hours at KS with my oldest for his treatment and a check up. Watched the sunrise while waiting. Quite a spectacular view from the waiting area.
Got home and worked my hours – short day today but started late so I got off late too. After work I have been keeping myself busy defrosting our fridge and giving it a good clean while waiting to hear from surgery. Finally the doctor called and said everything went according to plan. Thank God for that.
Already time to light the second candle. Xmas is right around the corner. Time flies.
Haven’t been outside all day. Stuck in front of the TV watching sports all day (well – I have run three laundries, vacuumed and ironed some). So many fun things to follow – cross-country skiing, biathlon, handball, floor ball (indoor hockey).
My hubby took our youngest to the hospital this afternoon for his surgery tomorrow. So only three of us for dinner. Made burgers with boiled potatoes / pasta for dinner. Now some more TV before it’s time to go to bed.
A nice day off. Haven’t really done much use today – well, if you don’t count grocery shopping and cooking. I have worked some on the 2021 photo-book. Takes a while to finish.
Made steak for the boys for dinner and salmon for me and my hubby. Served with salad for me and potato gratin for the others. Well – fries for our oldest of course. Now some sofa time before it’s time to hug the pillow.
Friday again – what a week. Felt great to be working from home again even though I miss my colleagues. Especially tonight – when my work has the yearly Xmas-party and since we are in quarantine I decided not to participate. Family come first.
Our youngest chose dinner tonight – pepperoni pizza from PizzaHut. Mmm. He and I shared one medium. Oldest had chicken burger. And my newly operated hubby had asparagus soup. Our family in a nutshell – several different courses to please everyone. Now a glas of red in my corner and TV to enjoy.
The weather forecast promised a lot of snow in the southern part of Sweden and they were right. It’s been chaos. Not too bad in Stockholm though. But we got a couple of inches of snow today and I was very happy I didn’t have to go outside.
Solved most of the problems from yesterday – now I just need to wait for one thing that needed addressing by someone else. Hopefully I can complete the task tomorrow and enjoy the weekend with a good feeling.
My hubby had to surgically remove a wisdom tooth this afternoon. Poor him. It all went according to plan and hopefully he will feel ok tomorrow or soon after that. So, a quiet evening at home for us.
