Spa cleaning

Ascension day – and a lovely sunny day off. Couldn’t sleep this morning so I got up and started a laundry while I had my breakfast.

We helped my parents buying a garden tool and went over with it to them and stayed for a coffee in the sun. Lovely to see them for a bit.

This afternoon my husband has cleaned the spa while I baked some cookies for the party tomorrow. Tonight we bbq steaks and had a nice dinner together. Now some relaxing time in front of the tele before it is time to hug the pillow.

Pink gorgeousness

Short day today since tomorrow is a holiday. Yeah. Started my day with my – hopefully – last dentist appointment for a while. He put the cap on which took about 40 min and now I’m quite sore, but it looks good and with some luck it will be fine in a day or two.

After work I went to do my physio and ran across my parents on my way back home so we walked together for a bit and had a nice chat.

The trees across the street from the school are so pretty now. Not sure if they are cherry trees or something else, but they are gorgeous.

New day

I slept so hard this morning when the alarm went off I wasn’t sure where I was. I hate when that happens! Takes a while to gather energy to get up.

Long day at work so no afternoon walks with my son today. Another day filled with invoices but not much else.

Tonight I made chile con carne for dinner for me and my husband. The boys had tacos. Minced meat in two different ways. I often serve us different dishes but I try to use the same protein to make it a bit easier.

Forrest

Great start of the week. First a session at the physio therapy and then work (lots of invoices today).

After work me and my oldest son went for a long walk in the forrest. He talked me into taking the non-illuminated track which is a lot more challenging and a lot harder to walk since it is more in the forrest itself. But, 1 hr and 15 min and 14500 steps later we were back home again. Yeah. I will be so sore tomorrow.

Norway đŸ‡§đŸ‡»

Happy 17th of May, Norway. Public celebrations will be cancelled this year but one can celebrate at home!

I’ve been studying some more today – completed the “Finance for Non-financial professionals” class which was a challenge. Now I’m doing “High Impact Business Writing”, which is hard too since the American way of writing differs a lot from our way of writing. After this one I have two more classes before I get my full certificate in “Career Success Specialization” from the University of California, Irvine – Division of Continuing Education via Coursera. I’m so proud of myself that I’m actually passing all these classes – and with good grades too.

We just took a short stroll around the block today – we’ve been a bit lazy. My husband went into town to meet with someone who bought his large 36″ unicycle. He hasn’t used it for years so it was great that he could sell it. Picked up dinner from the pizza-place tonight and now it is pouring down outside. Short week next week to look forward to.

Eurovision – Europe Shine A light

In addition to spotlighting the 41 songs of 2020, the unique production will include special performances from popular artists from Eurovision’s past. 2020’s artists will also join together, from their locations across Europe, in a unifying performance of 1997’s Eurovision winner Love Shine A Light by Katrina and the Waves.

Eurovision 2020: The 41 chosen representatives

Sietse Bakker, Executive Producer Event of what would have been the 65th Eurovision Song Contest, said: “We want to make a show that puts a spotlight not only on the 41 artists that were due to appear in Rotterdam but also inspire those at home and connect people from across Europe and beyond in these difficult times. Of course, we will also honour those who are affected by the coronavirus crisis and those who work so hard to fight it.

Let’s make this an unforgettable moment in Eurovision history!”

Studying

Saturday. Managed to sleep in until 8AM and after breakfast we went to return and borrow some jigsaw puzzles from my parents and say hello. It is a bit too chilly to sit outside for a coffee so we just stood outside and talked for a bit.

I have studied some today – right now I’m taking “Finance for Non-finance professionals”. I have entered a 10-course training and now I am doing course number 7 so I’m making progress. I try to study before work and in my afternoon-offs and it is quite fun.

We had leftovers tonight from the rump steak and I made a potato gratin and whiskey sauce to go with to make a new dish out of it. Now some sofa-time and a glass of red infront of the TV.

BBQ

Friday again. This week has been packed with things to do and went by really quickly. The weather has been awful with snow and rain mixed with some sunshine but quite chilly and even frost during the nights.

Tonight we bbq a rumpsteak and it turned out great! Delicious. We will buy it again for sure. We bought a whole steak but I sliced it up and marinated it for a bit before it was time to cook it. Served with oven baked potatoes. Yum!

Sveriges 12:a

Due to the corona virus the Eurovision Song Contest is cancelled this year. But tonight Sweden has put together a program with the 25 finalists the viewers have voted for in the Mello-app.

Time to vote one more time via the app and chose the Eurovision winner 2020 – Sweden not participating since that would be a bit biased. Besides the viewer votes there will also be a jury (Dotter, Charlotte Perelli, Eric Saade, Fredrik Kempe and Lina Hedlund) handing out 1-12 points. Host of the evening is Sarah Dawn Finer.

1. Efendi ”Cleopatra” (Azerbaijan)
2. James Newman ”My last breath” (United Kingdom)
3. Ben & Tan ”Yes” (Denmark).
4. Uku Suviste ”What love is” (Estonia)
5. Montaigne ”Don’t break me” (Australia)
6. The Roop ”On fire” (Lithuania)
7. Jeangu Macrooy ”Grow” (Nederlands)
8. Blas Cantó ”Universo” (Spain)
9. Alicja ”Empires” (Poland)
10. Ben Dolic ”Violent thing” (Germany)
11. Hooverphonic ”Release me” (Belgium)
12. Daði Freyr ”Think about things” (Iceland)
13. Ulrikke ”Attention” (Norway)
14. Lesley Roy ”Story of my life” (Ireland)
15. Tom Leeb ”The best in me” (France)
16. Destiny ”All of my love” (Malta)
17. Aksel ”Looking back” (Finland)
18. Victoria ”Tears getting sober” (Bulgaria)
19. Tornike Kipiani ”Take me as I am” (Georgia)
20. Stefania ”Supergirl” (Greece)
21. Gjon’s Tears ”RĂ©pondez-moi” (Switzerland)
22. Vincent Bueno ”Alive” (Austria)
23. Eden Alene ”Feker libi” (Israel)
24. Diadato – Fal Rumore (Italy)
25. Little big – Uno (Russia)

And the winner is: Iceland – highest score from both the jury and the people

Second place: Malta – second highest score from both the jury and the people

After that the points differed quite a lot between the jury and the people.

India Dream

Another strange day with snow, rain and freezing cold. Mixed with sunshine and blue sky.

We picked up some chicken tikka masala today from India Dream. So yummy! The boys got nuggets from McD. They don’t know what they’re missing.

Tonight we can vote in our Mello-apps in the “Sveriges 12a” show – since the ESC is cancelled Sweden has put together an alternative contest and we have now selected which 25 songs that will go thru to tonights show. And tonight we will chose the winner (Sweden not being part of the competition for obvious reasons).
