Good Friday and the whole family off from work all day. And we are going no-where – even the Easter witches are staying at home due to the flight restrictions this year. Lol.
A very sunny day what it seems with a few things on our to-do list. Going grocery shopping among other things.
Have a good Friday everyone!
Maundy Thursday
Skärtorsdag. Maundy Thursday. My husband worked half day – I had taken all week off. I received this Easter egg filled with goodies from work the other day. A perfect treat! It didn’t quite last over Easter though..
We took our youngest for a treatment after lunch and then stopped at my parents on the way back to say hello and pick up a few branches from the forsythia bush. A tradition that started when I was born and received the forsythia from my great aunt. It blooms for my birthday every year. I love it!
We picked up some thai food for dinner and now we’ve crashed infront of another episode of “La Casa de Papel”, season 4 (Money Heist). I really like the characters in it – El Professor, Denver, Rio, Nairobi, Berlin, Tokyo, Estocolmo, Helsinki etc. And it is nice to watch something that is not in English for a change too.
Butterfly
A bright sunny day! Found this beautiful butterfly in the garden – a small tortoiseshell (nässelfjäril). Me and my youngest worked a bit outside today. We had bought new soil for our roses which we spread out. I hope the roses will nourish from it and bloom amazingly.
Me and my husband went for a short walk today. He had to hurry back to an online meeting so we only went around the block. Tonight I made pasta with pork filet for dinner. A dish all four of us could enjoy together. Lovely.
Daffodils
April weather today. Sunshine and rain every other hour. Been a lazy butt today. No energy. Watched a bunch of episodes of Chicago Fire (I’m on season 3 now). Built on my puzzle. Just relaxing.
Received an Easter-egg from work filled with goodies – thank you!
My miniature daffodils are in full bloom now. I saved them from last year and they seem to have survived the year and are pure joy this year too. Lovely!
Tonight we are having some of the sausages my husband made in the cooking class he attended a while back. I have made stewed potatoes with chives to go with. The boys will have a noodle wok with beef.
Little suns
Easter vacation. Managed to sleep in a bit this morning and enjoyed a quiet breakfast. Strolled over to see my counselor and we had a good session. Next one scheduled for end of next week.
After lunch me and my oldest took a walk together over to the waste disposal site with all the garbage. We had a nice chat and stroll around the block. It has been a lovely day – sunshine and +15C. Lovely. Found these little colts-foot (tussilago) facing the sun like little yellow suns.
Tonight me and my husband had salmon and the boys beef served with oven baked potatoes. Yum.
Raspberries
A day filled with errands – first out grocery shopping. Both to ourselves but also to my parents-in-law. Glad we are able to help! Special times now with the recommendation that 70+ are to avoid public places and people.
Made a minced meat pie for lunch. We treated ourselves raspberries and strawberries for dessert. Great way to get some extra vitamins, antioxidants and minerals into the boys (and ourselves) – they love berries.
A grey day and not very nice. And now it is raining. April-weather.
Easter arrives
A sunny Saturday. We went for a quick walk after lunch and it was lovely. My husband is baking today so we couldn’t be gone for very long. So just a 2,5k around the block.
This afternoon I have located our Easter things. Haven’t used them in like 10-15 years or so – not since we started to celebrate Easter in our paradise. But, now we have some home-made chickens around the house and apple-branches with feathers in and a few decorations. Not going over the top or anything but need to keep on living and keep up the traditions we treasure so much and try to stay as normal as possible in this crazy time.
Winter returned
Friday again and this morning our garden was covered with snow again. April weather for sure. We were supposed to pack our things and drive down to our paradise tomorrow but no such luck. Struggling a bit with my emotions right now. So thankful we are safe and together. I pray we will stay that way.
Today our legal assistant worked her last day with us. She has been with us the last three years and I am so proud of her and the person she has become. She will start a new job on Monday and I wish her the best. I have supervised quite a few students over the years and I am so proud of all of them. They brighten up my day and I’d like to think I am contributing some to their allround education. Best of luck! I hope we can keep in touch!
Stormy day
A very unpleasant day to be outside. Not very cold but extremely windy. I’m saving my walk for tomorrow, I think. A couple of online meetings this morning and busy during my half-day.
No exciting lunch – just emptied the fridge for leftovers. Packed up my puzzle that I finished last night. Now I’ve started another one.. lol. My new addiction. This one is a large one with 1500 pieces.
My parents-in-law stopped by to drop things off and pick things up. Nice to see them even though on a distance and only for a few minutes. Can’t wait for this social distancing to end. Would love to spend time with friends and family again.
X-ray
What a day. Had an appointment first thing with a doctor to finally check up my knee that has been squeaking and making a funny noice for quite some time now. He sent me to get an X-ray to know better what is happening. Drop-in at Aleris in Skärholmen. Called them and they were not busy at all and I could come right in. However.. That was not true. I had to wait there for 3 hrs (!!!) before it finally was my turn. Not at all what I was told. The X-rays took 10 minutes and they would send the result to my doctor within 5 working days. We’ll see what he finds out.
So, today I worked afternoon instead of morning. Now, no more doctors or appointments for a while, I hope. Need to focus on other things.
