Thank you, Marie

When I was a teenager I was an exchange student for a year in the US and I packed 3 vinyl records with me on my journey. One of them with this lady. That album “Den sjunde vågen” is still very precious to me and some of her best work is represented there. And all the albums released by Roxette – the duo with Per Gessle – with 4 number one-listings in the US. Impressive.

Thank you, Marie, for all the amazing lyrics, all the incredible love-songs and balads. Be safe, where-ever you are.

“Jag önskar du finns kvar – När solen stiger – När natten blivit dag – Vill du ha mej då?
För jag vill öppna – Mej för dej – När solen stiger – När månen blivit hel – Vill du lyssna då?
För ännu doftar kärlek – Och hoppet blir till tro – Ännu blåser vindar –
Som stillar sig till ro”
lyrics – Marie Fredriksson,
from the album “Het Vind” 1984

Nobel and snow

The world outside was covered with snow when we woke up this morning. -8C. Brrr. It’s been freezing all day so the snow is still on the ground this evening.

I was able to be in the district court from lunch time today. It was very interesting and I really enjoyed seeing my colleagues “in action” and learn a bit more about what they do there.

Today it is the Nobel prize ceremony with the grand dinner to follow. The city is a bit crazy this day every year with all the safety and closing some of the streets and areas around the buildings where the ceremony and dinner are held.

Xmas decorations

Strolled thru the city after work and passed the decorations on Sergels Torg. I like them a lot. I especially like that they have lit up the statue in different colors – right now it’s red.

Picked up a few decorations for our home too – inspired by the new decorations we have at work. It’ll be fun to see what people think – my husband wasn’t super enthusiastic.. lol. But he said they look ok.

Made a lasagna for dinner and burgers for my oldest. Now a coffee and a shortbread cookie in my corner.

Second candle 🕯🕯

Second Sunday of Advent and time to light candle number two. It’s been a dark rainy day and gave no inspiration what so ever to go for a walk. We went grocery shopping and also found a few things for Xmas.

Made fish for dinner for me and my husband. Pork for the boys. Been relaxing in my corner and getting new energy for another week of work. Next week I will be in the district court in Stockholm for two days – going to be so interesting and fun to learn more about how it works and what happens there. This is part of the training I went to in October.

Recover

Managed to sleep a couple of hours but needed to get up and be on stand-by-call from work. So my angel of a husband got up and made us tea and toast to be enjoyed infront of the recorded finale from Swedish Idol.

It’s going to be a long lazy day in my corner.. with a lot of coffee and TV.. but I have been to my parents to drop off their front door decoration, picked up lunch, bought a Xmas-present and done some laundry. Not very good at doing nothing.

Dinner

Time for the yearly Xmas-dinner with my colleagues. And this year we decided on a rerun from last year and have the crazy 17-course dinner at Punk Royal in it’s extreme environment and service. This year was a slightly less scarier experience and the food was excellent – just like last time.

Afterwards we went out for drinks and dancing and we had a great time. Got home way too late and will most likely suffer tomorrow.

Sesame

Whoaa what a day. We picked up some Sesame Street from Yoi for lunch – always nice. Chicken with rise and veggies served in a bowl.

Thursday already. Can’t believe it’s been two weeks already since we were in London. Before we know it it’s Xmas. And with some luck I will be able to be off from work during the holidays – from Dec 21 – Jan 6. Almost 3 weeks. Can’t wait.

Midweek

The sun was rising this morning as I arrived in town. So pretty. I am very fond of the building to the right called “the ship”.

A very chaotic day with new challenges to solve. Stayed for a bit to sort some things but arrived home fairly early to finish emptying the last boxes with things for the bathroom.

Enjoyed our SPA again tonight. Lovely. Perfect way to get relaxed and all warm and cozy for a good nights sleep.

Energy kick

A long day – not terribly busy – but this little treat was just perfect in the afternoon when we needed an extra kick to get thru the last couple of hours. A new company trying to set off handed these out to attract customers.

Picked up another Xmas present that had arrived on my way home after work. Now the kids are provided for. Haven’t got a clue what to give to the adults. I don’t know what I would like either. Ideas anyone?

Last day

The painter was here today and did his last finishing touches. We are ready to move back into our bathroom! Yeah! Two more things left though – one of the tower-dryers needs replacing and there is something wrong with one of the doors. But, other than that we’re done! On Friday we are allowed to turn on the floor heating (can’t wait). It is very cold in there right now. 36 days later we’re done.

Got off in time today and have spent my free afternoon wisely – shared between quality time with my boys, doing laundry, picking up something I’d ordered that arrived, fixing dinner etc etc. Might treat myself some time in our spa tonight – it’s been ages.
