Wintery day

We managed to sleep in for a bit today and after breakfast we cleaned the house a bit and then went grocery shopping. Picked up some lunch. Cleaned some more. Did some laundry. Feels great to slowly get our house back again.

My oldest tried our new shower – he got to be the first one out – and it met his approval and the water didn’t spread outside the doors. Check.

It is quite chilly outside with a couple of degrees below freezing and the snow is still covering the grass. It is not much but it looks kind of wintery and made it a bit brighter. Time to put up the lights for advent and make it even brighter.

Very nearly done

Friday already and this morning we had received some snow. Not as much as they had said in the forecast but enough to cause a lot of people problems traveling to work.

The painter was here today and we had hoped he would be able to do the last touches but he needs one more day to finish. But, we are allowed to start using the bathroom now but since he will paint the ceiling again we can’t fill the bathroom with our things just yet. We are so happy about the result! Can’t wait to try the shower!

Pyssel hos S – 28 nov 2019

Day 23 (31)

The light is visible in the end of the tunnel. Finally. Last night the bathroom looked like this. Tonight they have finished a couple of more things but they still have a few things left. On Friday the painter will be back to do the final touches. And with some luck that will complete the remodeling.

Treated myself a massage after work. My shoulders really needed some extra attention and the treatment was just perfect. Just what I needed.

Happy 51 🎁

Today we have a birthday to celebrate – my husband turns 51. We picked up some thai dinner after work and ate at home with the boys. During dinner he opened his presents and we had a nice time together.

No family or friends over today – our house is a complete mess still. Our handyman had spread out to our living room too. He needed some space to put the furniture together. Maybe he’ll get done by the end of the week. That would be lovely.

Back to the real world

Early start and a new week to look forward to. The Xmas decorations in town looked so much smaller today compared to the massive ones in London. But I still think they are pretty.

Had my dentist appointment after work and he mended the broken tooth. It wasn’t too bad and I didn’t need anesthesia so that was good. Now I have washed the clothes in my suitcase, given my boys their presents, prepared dinner. Crashed in my corner with a cup of tea and a shortbread cookie – mmm – watching and episode of “Mother-father-son”. Back to life again.

Final day of touristing

Woke up early again – we have been up around 7.30 every morning – and went down to enjoy our last breakfast in London. Afterwards we checked out and we were allowed to leave our luggage in the reception for the day.

We strolled over to Soho for a coffee at Bill’s and then we walked down to Buckingham Palace and arrived just in time for the changing of the guards. No shopping today – just enjoying the city. We had lunch at a real British pub – I had fish & chips and a pint of lager. Then we picked up our luggage and took the underground out to Heathrow. No problem checking in and then we had some time to look thru the taxfree stores before it was time to fly back home again. What a great weekend!

Even more touristing

Shopping day! We took a bus over to Harrods and spent a couple of hours strolling around the huge building. So many nice things to see – but way out of our league price-wise.

Afterwards we had lunch in Hyde Park and then we spent some time at the Christmas Winter Wonderland they had set up in the park. It was like a huge amusement park and fair with rides, food and fun things to do.

We had dinner at the restaurant where we have breakfast. Nice way to end a day filled with walking.

More touristing

Today we took a bus over to see the Tower of London. We had bought tickets in advance and traded the voucher at the entrance with no problem. It was so interesting to see the crown jewels and stroll around the fort.

Afterwards to walked across the Tower Bridge – a symbol of London. We then took the subway to Piccadilly Circus and found a nice pub where we had lunch – steak & ale pie with a pint of lager – and sent a video-greeting to our mom for her birthday!

Touristing

London awaits! We had pre-ordered tickets for Westminster Abbey so after a very basic breakfast (te & toast with jam) we took a bus over to visit the church. We took a self-guided tour where you walk around with headphones and it was quite good. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take photos inside the church. Afterwards we walked over to see Big Ben (covered with scaffolds) and Downing Street (closed by guards) so we then walked across James Park instead and then back to the hotel to get changed.

Early dinner at Brasserie Zédel and then time to pick up the tickets for the musical “Lion King” at the Lyceum theatre. Fun! We enjoyed a glass of bubbly before it started. The show was great but lacked the extra wow-factor we had hoped for. But we were so very pleased with our evening of fun!
