Time off ❤

Had set the alarm this morning even though it was my first day off. I had booked an appointment at Body Care Center – a yearly tradition since 4-5 years back. And it was just perfect! Time to relax, focus on me and care for my sore back (extra tired after the marathon-day yesterday). My sister has started to go there too and she had booked an appointment after mine so we met for a minute.

After lunch my parents-in-law came over for a coffee / tea and we had a nice chat. They had bought a surprise Xmas-present for us, but it was a bit too big so they will return it. But it was a great thought! Thank you!

We have bought some new lights for our garden which we will try to install tomorrow. We need something to light up the steps going into our garden and also something to mark the spa in the backyard. I hope the ones we bought will do the trick.

12 hrs later..

A mastodont shift at work.. problems with all sorts of things made my day a bit extra long. Ended up working over 12 hrs instead of the 5,5 I was supposed to. It was ok though – we completed everything we set out to do. And I really felt I contributed in a good important way – great feeling!

Some of my colleagues received flowers by courier today for job well done in a matter and they gave me one of the bouquets as a thank-you for the extra effort. Anyway, a taxi-ride home and I crashed in my corner at 9.30 PM with a nice piece of chocolate and a small whisky.. Now 17 days off to look forward to. Starting with a massage tomorrow morning.

Godmother

I am a Godmother to both my nieces and we try to honor the day they were baptized every year by either giving them a little something or try and do something together. The other day it was my youngest niece’s anniversary day of christening so we went out for dinner together tonight. She picked me up after work and we strolled over to Gamla Stan where we had a pasta-dinner at Michelangelo. So nice! We had a lovely time and I am so happy for moments like these. So precious!

World premier

World premier on the latest Star Wars-movie – the Rise of Skywalker. And of course we wanted to be there! My oldest niece organized the evening together with one of our friends and 11 of us went. We have been to a movie with our friends in December a lot of times now – a nice tradition. Watched all kinds of big premier movies. Fun!

The movie was a lot better than the critics said. The first half hour was a bit slow but the following couple of hours went by really fast. Well worth seeing, if you are a Star Wars fan anyway.

Tree

Our tree this year turned out really pretty – I’m so happy. My youngest helped me decorate it. And I love the scent it spreads!

A long busy day – everyone want to get things done before the holidays. And we try to finish everything on time.

Three more days to go – then my family have a couple of weeks off together. Lovely.

Pyssel hos K – 16 dec 2019

Advent 3 – dance show

A dark and rainy advent 3rd and no fun being out today either. So, I treated myself American pancakes for breakfast (can’t remember when I ate that last) and then I picked up my mom around 11 and then my sister and youngest niece to head down to Tumba to attend my oldest nieces’ dance show. It was great – they are really professional nowadays and it is so much fun to see their show. *proud auntie*

Now me and my youngest have decorated the tree that he and his dad bought yesterday. Now the house is starting to look like Xmas is around the corner. And I just love the scent of pine that is spreading in the living room. Like the Snoopy-picture said yesterday in my post :

“We hurry through life and the holidays, forgetting to look around and just breathe. Take time to smell the pine, appreciate the lights, listen to the music, and be with your loved ones.”

Weekend

I was so tired last night – we started to watch a movie and it wasn’t really my cup of tea so instead of trying to stay up and awake I went to bed and was fast asleep before 9 PM. Slept thru the night until morning and 11 hrs of sleep later I was ready to switch my bed for my corner in the couch. Lol. Emptied the dishwasher and ran a set of laundry, had my breakfast and now I’m more ready to face the world.

It is raining outside and it’s quite windy so the spa isn’t very appealing right now. We might run some errands today. I have booked an appointment at the optician for Monday after work, finally. I have a small spot on one glass in my specs so I need to replace it. I’ve had these glasses for 3,5 years now so a checkup is probable in order anyway. But I don’t look forward to the expense.

Lucia 🕯

Today we celebrate Lucia. Don’t notice it so much anymore since my boys are no longer in school. I did watch it on TV this morning and I love the melodies that are connected with this celebration. Xmas is coming.

I am really tired today. It is so dark and rainy outside. Got a lot done and managed to get off a bit earlier – perfect since I have some over-time this week. Strolled thru the city and picked up some presents that I had decided on. Almost all done.

Rain… 🙁

Our landlord at work has decorated our entrance with a mistletoe… could be exciting depending on the situation. And the person in question. So far no kisses.

Today it has been quite dark and rainy outside and no fun at all. I’ve managed to walk 13000 steps without taking any long walks. So who said I have a sedentary work? I crashed when I got home and only made myself a light dinner with some scrambled eggs and turkey. Didn’t feel like a big dinner. One more day this week. Then a very welcome weekend to enjoy.
