I was quite sore today, like my naprapath had predicted. But I can use my arm again. Perfect. Those needles knew what nerves to press.
My Tuesday was as long as my Monday was short. Stayed in town after work and grabbed a bite to eat with one of my colleagues. Nice to have a chat and not have to rush home. Now I’m tucked in my corner with a cup of tea and an episode of “Dicte”.
Monday again..
New week – starting with a short day as usual. Had an appointment with my naprapath and he took care of my sore elbow using acupuncture needles. Quite painful but hopefully effective. When I got home I treated myself a fried egg on bread for lunch. Mmm.
Made spagetti with home made mincemeat sauce for dinner. It was quite a while ago since we had that and it turned out quite nice. Another mmm.
Spiken 2016
Time for the yearly event Spiken – for the 46st time. My husband participated along with my brother-in-law and youngest niece. They all did great!
34 runners all together in this years run. I helped out, as usual, with writing down all the people completing the race along with their time that my dad was in charge of. Afterwards we all met up in the cafeteria in our local school for coffee, hot dogs and my mothers home made cinnamon buns. Mmmm.
I’ve been a busy bee all day cleaning the house. We also managed to sell two of the items advertised! Yeah! Both the bicycle and the stroller were sold this morning. Perfect. Fingers crossed someone is interested in the other two things too.
Sale
Time to clean out a few items we no longer need. I have therefor posted these four things on Blocket today – fingers crossed they will find a new home and owners that will appreciate them as much as we have. Anything you are interested in – give me a call! One Zibro air-condition system, two Stiga snow racers, one Tiger bike 24″ size 30 and one Emmaljunga stroller.
Tonight we are invited to my parents-in-law for dinner. What a treat – dinner out two days in a row. Yeah. A rainy grey Saturday recovering from the huge dinner last night and I don’t have to cook tonight either. Life is not so bad.
Enskede kyrka 21 years ago
Today it was 21 years ago since that special day when we got married in Enskede Kyrka.
We decided to do something special for our anniversary and had heard of a small restaurant close to where we live that serves spectacular food. They serve one set menu (which they don’t tell you about) and the length and style of this menu can vary depending on the season. We tried to book a table there a while back but you need to book it months ahead. So I did. And today we went.
We were placed at the chefs table – right infront of where the magical food was created. Best table in the room, if you ask me!
The dinner started with a prologue – a warm cloth to wipe our hands and a Japanese cup of stock to wake up the taste-buds. I chose to go with their suggestion of drinks to accompany the food while my husband had some sort of non-alcoholic cider.
The dinner was then divided into sections – hors d‘oeuvres, bread & butter, Caput 1, Caput 2, Caput 3 and finally epilogue – all parts included several dishes and we counted 18 all together!!! And 7 different wines. And finally tea / coffee. On this photo you can see the epilogue – the four treats and my coffee.
We had a great experience at this restaurant – I wouldn’t be surprised if they were awarded a Michelin star. The food was beautiful and extremely well executed with a Japanese touch. If you are looking for a memorable evening – this is the place to go.
Win yesterday!
Finally we won a game in handball! Yeah! And we crushed the resistance 32-23. Another yeah! Amazing how much more fun a game gets when you win.. lol.
Now there is a couple of weeks until the next game. Let’s hope we keep up the good work!
Busy Thursday with a lot of steps counted. Perfect.
3C
This morning it was only 3C outside – if I would have had to drive today I would have been forced to scrape the ice off the car windows.
And then at work when the company who deliver the fruit arrived we were treated the first mandarins for the season. Or satsumas or whatever they are called at this time of the year. And it was delicious. Sweet and without seeds.
Tonight I am accompanying my parents to another game of handball. Let’s hope we will win this one. No wins so far this season. We need to break the bad trend.
Kanelbullar
National theme day – cinnamon bun day – my favorite theme day of the year.
We had a whole basket of these goodies to enjoy at work today. Both the regular ones, but also cardamon ones and black current / pistachio ones. Yum!
Rowan berries
They say that if there is a lot o rowan berries we will get a cold winter. I believe it will be a very cold winter if that is true.
It’s a gorgeous day but quite chilly. Only 5C and it hasn’t really warmed up all day. I was running around the office all morning arranging meetings and making binders. Managed to reach 10.000 steps before I even reached the subway. Now I have crashed in my corner for a couple of minutes before I’ll start dinner. Today’s choice – fish casserole or homemade burgers.
Sunny Sunday
I slept for 10,5 hrs. When did that happen last? Wow. I feel like I’ve ben run over by a bus or something. Maybe I am coming down with something, but I sure hope not. I don’t have time to be sick right now. Tomorrow I have an extremely busy morning at work which I had to plan for before I left the office Friday in order to make it work.
I really need to start moving too. I am stuck in old habits and I need to make a change. One dear friend told me to focus on things I can change rather than get annoyed with things I can’t influence. Good advice. Hard to live up to though.
