Halloween

Monday. Halloween. Sara and Filip cut one pumpkin each yesterday and they turned out great! They sit in front of our fireplace looking scary.

Today we made a huge bonfire on the beach of all the stuff we wanted to get rid of. The pile was huge but very dry so it burned down in no-time.

A fairly sunny but quite cold day. Me and my mom went shopping for more groceries. Then I helped my parents filling out applications for ESTA to have it done before our trip in March. Good to get sorted in time.

We took a nice hour-long walk before dinner. Tonight we didn’t get an orange spectacular sunset like the first two evenings – but we did get a blue one that was quite nice too.

Vintertid

Today it was time to change the clocks and start using winter time again. It was a lovely Sunday – and after a great breakfast we went outside to enjoy the weather and also cut down the lilac bushes that have grown too high. We spent a couple of hours working before we went in for lunch. Then back out again to finish the work and carry all the cut bushes and branches down to the beach. I also picked some sloe berries that grow wild in our garden. The big blue berries make a great cordial.

My parents arrived this afternoon and joined us here in our paradise. We ended the day in front of another sunset. Life is not so bad.

Finally!

A very sunny Saturday with clear blue sky and hardly any traffic. We left the city at 08.30 this morning and arrived safely to our paradise 7hrs later with a few stops on the way for lunch and grocery shopping.

Now we have unpacked, enjoyed a great taco-dinner with a sunset view (actually the sun set already at 5.30 pm before dinner), and now time in one corner each with a glass of something to drink, some snacks and taking turns choosing the next song on Spotify. Halloween theme of course.

Last day.. and a rainy one

A rainy grey Friday but still a great day. Time to get packing. It’s such a luxury to have our own place to escape to – where the bed is already made and you don’t have to bring everything every time. It’s just to pack some clothes for a few days and then off we go.

It was so dark last night when I got home but the leaves really do make it look a bit lighter. Soon they will fall off and then it will be completely dark for a while before the snow gets here. The prognosis said that the first snow might be here already next week.

Two.. but who’s counting ☺

It’s those little things that brightens up a day. A little girl sat in wpid-wp-1413380635796.jpegfront of me on the subway. She was with her mom and they were going home after a visit to the hospital where she had been stitched up after an accident. She had a big bandage on her head and blood all over her jacket.

But then she noticed my handbag. And cheered up. And we spent 20 minutes looking at all the tokidoki-cartoons on my bag. Her mom thanked me for giving her daughter her smile back.

Three.. ✂?

With this grey and rainy weather I needed a change – and what better way than getting a new color in my hair? Dyed my whole hair for the first time – and also made strands in a lighter color. I think it turned out pretty good. I am so happy my hairdresser finally is back in business – she has been on sick-leave all fall.

Now I’m ready to face the world tomorrow. Starting with a parent-teacher-conference first thing in the morning.

Four more.. ?☔

What a day. I think I took a new record in things I managed to get dimg_20160222_150602.jpgone before lunch. Then rushed off to the hospital for an appointment. Home in time to start dinner (wok).

Tonight a lady came over to buy our last snow-racer which means all 5 items are now sold. Yeah!

Five more days

A very busy morning and then a lovely lunch with a dear old friend. Perfect way to relax and re-gain some focus again.

Picked up medicine and groceries on my way home. Made burgers for dinner. And then study-time with my youngest. We made some progress. Yeah.img_20160401_193238.jpg

Five more days.. then hopefully our paradise has one of these gorgeous sunsets in store for me and my youngest. It will just be a 5-day vi
sit this time but I can’t wait anyway. My brother-in-law and his youngest are coming along too and then my parents will join us a day later.

Competition

A rainy grey Sunday and what better way to spend the day than cheering on my niece and her team competing in team-gym?! They did great and managed to get in 4th position in two disciplines, silver in one and bronze in the total. Yeah!

Yesterday was great – except for a slight change of plans due to my massage getting cancelled because he/she called in sick but my sister got hers at least. So – I went shopping while I waited for her and afterwards we strolled around in Gamla Stan and had a great time together. Dinner was lovely too so even thought I was robbed of my massage it was still a great day.

A great day

Saturday again and a great day ahead. First some quiet time in my corner enjoying the first episode of Grey’s Anatomy this season that I had taped the other day along with some breakfast and a coffee.

Going to see my sister in a bit for a lovely afternoon together. We are going to a SPA for a massage and then afterwards we are meeting our hubbies for dinner in Gamla Stan. Quite a Saturday!
