After work I took a long walk through the city. I wasn’t really hungry so I ended up having quite a late lunch. And what could be better than a “tunnbrödrulle”? The perfect lunch when you’re on the move and don’t feel like sitting down to eat. I always take one hot dog (boiled – not grilled), ketchup and mash in my flatbread. Mmmm.
Now time to prepare tonights dinner. And take care of the laundry. And some other stuff. Have a great evening!
In between
My long day in between my two shorter days. It was a good day and things went according to plan. On my way home I took a walk to pick up a Xmas-present from a wish-list. I know, still plenty of time left but still it’s nice to tick off things and not leave everything until the last minute.
Tonight I have wrapped the gifts I have bought so far to get an overview of what’s left and what’s done. So far so good.
Now time to watch the finale of the home bakers.
Me-time
Time to get ready for the Xmas-month. Last night we lit the first candle of advent. Usually it is my favorite time of the whole year but for some reason the advent-spirit hasn’t really arrived yet. But it did snow yesterday so that helped somewhat.
Short day at work today and me-time booked this afternoon. Just what I needed. I managed to trip last week and my neck got all stiff and painful. It got better after a few days but my naprapath still had a lot of work to do to get rid of the last knots and painful spots.
Now it’s time to get dinner on the table for the hungry lads arriving one by one.
Advent 1st
Time to light the first candle. And to have the family over for a celebration of my husband. I had prepared an advent-theme coffee with saffron buns, gingerbread sponge cake, gingerbread cookies and of course- a princess cake with the traditional green marzipan cover. And a selection of “glögg” to enjoy with the coffee. We had a nice couple of hours with our guests.
Tonight I have been visiting with old friends. It was really great to see them again – we used to spend a lot of time together when we were kids since our mothers are best friends. Now one of the sisters is getting married so her friends had a organized bridal shower for her. It was really nice to be able to take part of that for a couple of hours. Wish we could see each other more often and I guess the only thing keeping that from happening is a bit of better planning and effort. Need to work on that.
Family dinner
A nice family day – first at home with the boys to celebrate my husbands birthday. Also preparing the house for advent – putting up lights in the windows, baking, cleaning, laundry etc.
Then it was time to get ready and take the bus into the city. My parents had booked a table at a nice Greek restaurant and we all met up for dinner. Except Sara who was competing in team-gym this weekend. But with Lennart who joined us instead. We had a wonderful three-course-dinner and when we missed the bus at the end station it was actually quite nice to walk the 2k back home.. get rid of at least a few calories.
Thank you, mom & dad, for a great evening!
Day of inspiration
What an interesting day! I attended an Inspiration Day two years ago and I loved it and this year I was interested in the speakers and decided to attend again. First out was the director Kay Pollak with Oscars nominations and winner of the Swedish Guldbagge. Then Katarina Gospic, a medical doctor and scientist to be followed by Helena Bergström, actor and director.
After lunch we listened to Michael Södermalm (mental coach), Leif GW Persson (professor in criminology), Andreas Carlsson (music producer and entrepreneur), Fredrik Eklund (estate agent), and then finally Mia Törnblom (mental coach and speaker of the year).
A day with a lot of reflections, laughter, insight and me-time.
Thanksgiving
Long day at work and time to head back to my favorite xmas-decorations.. And they were all lit up like I hoped. Yeah.
Sold the last thing I had advertised. Another yeah! Time to put together a new kit of things. I think we have some snowboard boots to sell among other things.
Today they celebrate Thanksgiving in the States – wishing all my American friends a Happy Thanksgiving!
Midweek
A day to recover and sort out some stuff. Need to get better at focusing on things I can affect and not worry about things I can’t affect. I have enough things on my mind these days.
They are doing reconstruction on the roundabout at Sergels Torg so the elk-family had to move down below to the square. I need to walk by the square after I had a long day at work when it is all lit up – I really enjoy that!
I have spent the afternoon with my boys – sometimes I wish they were little again and I was at home all the time with them. Another lifetime it seems.
Time to celebrate ?
Half a day at work and half a day with my parents celebrating my mothers birthday.
A lot of people came to greet her. It was really nice to see them all – and I think they enjoyed seeing me and my sis too. We helped out in the kitchen making sure everyone had something to eat and drink.
Dear mom – I hope you had the best day and that you will sleep in tomorrow and relax after this special day. Looking forward seeing you again this weekend for the family dinner. Love you!
New week – no snow left
A very special week with a lot of fun things planned. And when I arrived in town this morning they had turned on all the Xmas-decorations. Too bad all the snow is gone. First we had a week of constant snowing with chaos and then we had a week with a lot of rain. This week they have actually promised better weather. Let’s hope they’re right.
Short day today and a very busy afternoon. I had a lot of things to do and got most of them done. Yeah!
