Time to get organized

The alarm clock went off at 05.50 this morning. On a Saturday. Puh. Oldest son had to get up and get ready to head off into KTH for a whole day of exams. With some luck he will get enough points on the exams to be able to use it for his imageapplication. Fingers crossed.

While he was busy thinking the rest of us have run errands getting organized for both his birthday and his graduation. We will not make a huge deal about it but something extra is a must. It is quite an achievement to graduate and of course this cause for celebrations!

Now let’s cheer on the semi-finals in hockey. I hope Finland will beat Russia – but it’s going to be hard with them being the host of the event and has huge support from the audience. In the other game I am all for the US, of course, but I think Canada will be impossible to beat.

If only I could ..

.. sleep a full night without waking up, I would feel a lot more enerIMG_20121113_073925gized in the morning. I have no problems falling asleep but then I wake up at 2 or 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning and stay awake for an hour or two. Hm.

Bought  minute-steak for dinner tonight and made oven baked potatoes to go with it. Not very complicated and quite tasty, if I may say so. No hockey tonight – but the last part of Le’ts Dance. I don’t know who I’m cheering for – both Bianca and Elisa are great in their own way. Tricky.

Focus focus

I did good today. Now let’s hope our hockey-players manage to work miracles and defeat Canada tonight. I mwpid-wp-1449504723990.jpgean, I support my team but they have not been great this tournament. But, things can change quickly in a hockey game. Let’s keep our fingers crossed they will pull themselves together and play the kind of hockey that makes us proud.

Maybe they can find the focus and strength if someone plays the Hammarby theme-song for them.. 😉

Well.. 6-0 speaks for itself. We’re done – over and out..

Midweek

imageA half day with a full days work. I am completely whacked. Can’t even gather my thoughts straight. Took a very slow walk back from the subway to clear my head. It is so beautiful outside right now – all the fruit trees in bloom and even the lilacs are starting to show off their glory.

Met a dear friend of mine for lunch. Just what we both needed I think. Tried one of those new cold brew coffees with lemonade. Now I know what they taste like. And I will most likely never have another one.. lol

Important game

The ice hockey tournament has come to the last game in theimage group play. After tonight it is time for the quarter finals. If we manage to defeat Russia we will avoid having to face Finland or Canada. Our chances are quite slim though.

Hubby treated us a box from the Delicato outlet yesterday. The goodies didn’t quite survive the trip in his backpack bicycling home.. they still taste delicious but they have looked better. Lol.

Back

imageIt’s a bit ironic – the music left the city and so did the sunshine. Lol. The city was so empty this morning when I arrived. No Come Together flags decorating the streets. No x-ing crossings playing previous winner songs. No tourists. Just chilly, windy and rainy. Blä.

Managed to get a lot done this afternoon. Now I am going to reward myself with the very last episode of “Good Wife”. I will miss Alicia and the rest.

Rain rain rain

Today the weather changed completely. It’simage been very windy and cold all day and raining off and on. Good for the garden with some rain – and today I am not going anywhere so let it rain all day! Next week I would like the nice sunshine to return though.

Vacuumed and mopped downstairs and ran a load of wash. That’s it for today. Time to get dinner on the table – we bought everything yesterday so it’s easily done. Then I will watch another hockey-game. Soon the first round is done – then time for the extremely scary quarter finals. The most nerv wrecking game of them all.

EUROVISION SONG CONTEST – GRAND FINAL

imageThe day has come for the grand finale!  It’s been a great week in Stockholm. Lovely weather. Tons of tourists. Lot’s of ESC-activities to enjoy.

Tonight we are going to watch the finale together with our friends. All 13 of us are going to be there – yeah! Great that everyone could join!

And the contestants are;

  1.  Belgium
  2. Czech Republic
  3. The Netherlands
  4. Azerbaijan
  5. Hungary
  6. Italy
  7. Israel
  8. Bulgaria
  9. Sweden
  10. Germany
  11. France
  12. Poland
  13. Australia
  14. Cyprus
  15. Serbia
  16. Lithuania
  17. Croatia
  18. Russia
  19. Spain
  20. Latvia
  21. Ukraine
  22. Malta
  23. Georgia
  24. Austria
  25. United Kingdom
  26. Armenia

And the winner is: Ukraine
Second: Australia
Third: Russia

Sweden managed to get in place 5 – amazing. That was extremely well and much better than anyone would have dared to hope for. The whole event was very well produced and I think Sweden made a very positive impression and did us proud. Last year the show had almost 200 million viewers all over the world. I wonder how many it was this year.

Fredagsmys

Where did this week go? It feels like ages ago since it was Monday but at the same time I can’t really say where the rest of the week went.

Today it was extremely busy at work and whwpid-img_20150901_194454.jpgen it calmed down and I was able to step out for lunch I walked over to Kungsträdgården – my new favorite place – to feel the ESC-atmosphere. Lol. I know. I am a bit crazy but I just love all the tourists, the performances, the activities. Bought a little surprise for tomorrow.. 😉

A fun weekend ahead with a lot to look forward to. Have a great one everyone!

ESC – part II

Time for part II in the song contest. Stockholm is really getting into the Eurovision mood – you can enjoy Måns’ voice in the speakers in the subway announcing where to get off in order to get to different ESC-attractionimages. They have changed the ticking sound when you wait to cross the x-ings – Loreens winning song while it’s still red – then Måns winning song when it turns green. Lol. Who comes up with all these ideas?

Tonight I went with a friend to try a body balance class. She got me a free pass to see if I liked it and it was quite fun. I have stretched all my muscles to new lengths – we’ll see if I can get out of bed tomorrow.

The countries participating in the second part are; Latvia, wer_vertritt_unser_land_in_stockholm_span12Poland, Switzerland, Israel, Belarus, Serbia, Ireland, Macedonia, Lithuania, Australia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Ukraine, Norway, Georgia, Albania and Belgium
