ESC – part 2

Time to select the other half of the final field with the last 16 countries competing in the second semi-final.

We only watched the first hour – it was a bit too late with us getting up before 6 to get to work, but so far the songs haven’t really impressed us. Tonight the other Nordic countries participated, but unfortunately none of them went thru, unlike the first semi when all the participating Nordic countries passed.

The final 10 countries going thru to the finale was; Albania, Cyprus, Estonia, Belgium, Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Australia, Armenia and Slovenia.

ESC – part 1

The Ukraine won last year but due to the ongoing war in the Ukraine, they are not able to host this years Eurovision Song Contest. Therefore the number two country last year, the UK, offered to host the event and it is being held in Liverpool.

Sweden is participating in the first semi-final – Loreen with her “Tattoo”.

The 10 countries that went thru to the finale is: Croatia, Moldova, Switzerland, Finland, Czechia, Israel, Portugal, Serbia, Norway and Sweden!!!

Puh!

Today we raised the flag and celebrated my youngest 23rd birthday. Time flies. We spent the morning preparing for our afternoon guests and celebrated with a princess cake and other goodies together with his grandparents and aunt w/ family.

After the birthday celebrations my sis w/ family stayed for pizza-dinner. We played some jackbox-games and also enjoyed the spa for a bit before it was time to watch the last part of the qualification rounds to the Melodifestivalen.

Carola celebrates 40 years as an artist and since she won back in 1983. She was invited to perform in this evenings program and she delivered as always.

An incident in tonight show during Loreens performance – a person got up on stage so they had to stop the program for a couple of minutes to sort it. Luckily no one was hurt and she could start over.

Saturday and we waited all morning for the call from the car repair garage that has had our car since Wednesday. It was supposed to be ready yesterday but no such luck. And no call all day and they don’t answer our calls either. Bummer. So, after lunch we took the bus over to celebrate my mother-in-laws birthday, which really was no problem.  We were treated a real “fika” with home made goodies and had a lovely time and my hubbys’ aunt was there too.

After the birthday-celebrations we took the bus over to my sis w/ family for a great dinner to be followed by a Mello-2 evening.

Part 2:
1. Wiktoria – All my life
2. Eden – Comfortable

Not what I had guessed at all so hardly any points to me this round. Better luck next Saturday!

Our youngest niece skipped the fizz and gave us a ride home (thank you!). So nice to get home quickly after a long day.
