Time to choose this years winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. Since we won last year the competition is held in Sweden – Malmö Arena to be exact. Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman have been a great host-couple – very professional! And I heard Sarah will be part of the finale too tonight. Yeah! Love her Lynda-character.
Big demonstrations in Malmö due to Israel participating. The ones earlier this week were manageable without major incidents. Fingers crossed nothing bad will happen tonight either.
The countries qualified after the two semi finals are;
Sweden is first out with Martin & Martinus – Unforgettable.
Winner: Switzerland with “The Code” performed by Nemo
Second place: Croatia
Third place: UkraineSweden 9th place!

ESC – part 2
Tonight it is the second part of the Eurovision Song Contest.
I especially look forward to the performances while waiting for the result. Lol. They were quite good in the first semi-final with Johnny Logan, Benjamin Ingrosso and others performing. Since Sweden already has a place in the finale the voting result it isn’t as thrilling to watch. Tonight they had a sing-along with former winner songs – Sertab, Helena Paparazzo and Charlotte Perelli. And then a great interval act performed by Petra, Malin and Sarah among others.
These pre-qualified countries will perform (but not compete) and vote in Semi-final 2 – France (after song 5), Spain (after song 9) and Italy (after song 13).
The final 10 countries going thru to the finale was; Latvia, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, Israel, Greece, Estonia, Switzerland, Georgia and Armenia.
ESC – part 1
Tonight it is the first part of the Eurovision Song Contest. Since we won last year with Loreens “Tattoo” the competition is held in Sweden this year. In Malmö to be precise.
The “big five” along with the winning country from last year is also performing – United Kingdom (after song 4), Germany (after song 8) and Sweden (after song 11). They are not in the semi-final competition – just showing their songs.
The final 10 countries going thru to the finale was; Serbia, Portugal, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, Croatia, Ireland and Luxembourg.

30 acts have been selected to compete in this year’s edition, which sees a change as instead of four semi finals and a second chance round, we will have five semi finals prior to the Grand Final. The top two songs of each semi final will automatically qualify for the Grand Final, which the 3rd and 4th placed acts will go to the “run-off vote” round which will take place at the end of the fifth semi final, and an additional two acts will be given a place in the final 12. The final will take place in “Friends Arena” in Stockholm on the 9th of March.

We gathered the whole gang (almost) at my sisters for ESC-celebrations – with dinner, bubbly, music and dear dear friends!
