.. asks pleasure first.. it is the theme from the movie The Piano which is a fantastic piece of music and I am struggling a lot with learning how to play it. I just love the song although it is quite complex with its change of tempo and speed.
Great lunch today with a midsummer theme. First smorgasbord since Easter – and – a couple of more to come. Midsummer day is on Friday and then we are all off work. Nice with a long weekend. Again!
Monday.. in desperate need of a change.. and what could be better than a haircut? With midsummer coming up and all.
Quite a busy taxi-mom afternoon (as my sis would put it) – dropping off and picking up at all sorts of destinations. But, I am happy to help and that I am allowed into their world. By this time next year – with any luck – my oldest will be able to borrow the car himself instead. Can’t believe I have kids that old.. Where did the years go? The few greys are reminding me it is true though..

her beautiful day and today I was able to sleep in a little bit anyway. We all got up around 8 since my youngest is leaving for a 4-day camp and my husband is competing today as well. So, me and my oldest have the house to ourselves today.
I decided to be a bit productive. Our elder tree is in bloom so I went to get some lemons, caster sugar and citric acid and made my own lemonade/cordial. You can find the recipe in my cookbook.
Oh – last night me and my sister went into town to have dinner with our second cousins. It was the first time we all got together in 20 years! It was a great visit and I am sure we won’t wait that long until next time.
No buses on the way home though.. so I walked the 3-4 km back.. (40 min). After all that great food I guess it might not be a bad thing after all.. lol
When I finally have a chance to sleep in I wake up early. Typical.
But – the upside of the story is that it is a beautiful (but extremely windy..) day so I took my usual walk around the area. It was so pretty down by the lake.
My husband is competing in the Swedish Championships in Unicycling – second year in a row. It is a three day event so I won’t see much of him this weekend. He is really good at it actually, but the other competitors are a notch better unfortunately.

Today I went on a special mission – to pick up a couple of newly printed Swedish government official reports from the government printing shop.
It was amazing outside so the walk was a welcome break in my work. The building where the parliament sits is quite old and situated on a small island connected with bridges from the main shopping street, the Operahouse and the Royal Castle.
Tonight we have a summer party with my work colleagues. Chers everyone!
This morning the scale was smiling. Filled with energy I walked to the subway instead of taking the bus. It was a great way to start the day but it made me really hungry. So for lunch I decided to have something more than a sallad – thai noodles with shrimp.
It is really warm and humid today and it rained earlier. Now it feels like it will start to thunder any minute. More common in our paradises than it is here in the city. It is quite spectacular to experience a real thunderstorm on an island close to water. Makes you feel really small. No walk home after work since it was raining when I got to the end station. No need since I had fulfilled my walking goal today – 12.000 steps and still counting.

Cherries. I really love them. But the bigarreaus are my favorites. The darker sweeter ones. Mmmm..
Today we had a whole bowl of them at work. Made me smile.
This afternoon we have got vaccination shots for deceases spread by ticks. Every 5th year a new shot. 350 kr per person. But if it can prevent us from getting meningitis from the little bugs so be it. Both our paradises are situated in areas where they recommend you to be vaccinated. A small fee to pay considering the consequences if the bad luck would struck.
After a few days with really nice weather it is now raining again. Good for my flowers. And not so warm at night. (positive thinking.. )

oo very glad I went to see my naprapath yesterday – without his miracle work I would not have been able to finish my workload today. My neck was killing me yesterday, and today it barely bothered me at all!
I really like the feeling of accomplishment when I have gone thru the pile of paper and I am able to go home with a clear conscience. Much easier to go back tomorrow – starting fresh again!
Now tucked in my corner watching another episode of the “House of Cards” – it is actually pretty good – and enjoying a very large cup of coffee.
Monday – and
a full week ahead (the first full week in a while). Short day today and me-time after work. Must be a good thing, right?!
After a session with my naprapath I felt energized again – good for both body and soul – and took a walk home from the subway. But it was really sunny and hot outside and I got so tired. It is so gorgeous right now with all the “gullregn” – golden chain trees – in full bloom. They are really stunning. The heavy rainfall ruined my amazing peony yesterday ( 🙁 ) so it was nice to see these flowers instead.

Pingst – or Whitsun as it is called in English. A lovely day spent with my mother and sister shopping for our children’s upcoming confirmation. We found what we had in mind after a bit of research so that was great!
Now the meat is on the grill and my newly baked Karlsbad buns are fresh out of the oven. They will be perfect with a nice cup of coffee later. It is still very nice outside so dinner will be enjoyed in our back yard. Life is pretty good!
