Today we light the first candle and celebrate the first of Advent. We have decorated the house traditionally with lights and Advent candlesticks. It looks very homy and warm.

At the Christmas basar we won a gift certificate with 300kr to spend on lunch at Amazon Restaurant close to where we live. So we decided to use it for a nice Sunday lunch. We also managed to do a little bit of Christmas shopping so that was good. Now I have prepared a nice lasagna for our dinner while my youngest is on his gymnastics practice. Might treat myself a glass of “glögg” when we light the candle tonight. Have a great one!

The best weekend of the year – when it is time to get ready for the first of Advent. I know, I’m being silly. But I really really love traditions. 

I have bought new curtains this year for the first time in ages. I wanted to buy them last year but when I got around to it they were already sold out. But, this year they had them again! Yeah! Unfortunately they were too long so I have spent the day ironing them and shortening them to the right length. I like the way it turned out. Hard work paid off.

Chicken in the oven – a nice quiet dinner enjoying an advent-decorated house. Life is not so bad!

A great ending of a long week – family over for my husbands birthday celebration. He picked up a couple of amazing cakes from Chokladfabriken – it is a brownie bottom covered with raspberry mousse and chocolate mousse. Then topped with shiny dark chocolate and decorated.

I picked up a saffron roll filled with almond icing and raisins. A real treat for sure.

It was a good evening – sorry my mother-in-law couldn’t be here but she is doing really well and I am glad she could come over to celebrate her son last weekend.

The very long wait has come to an end.. finally the bathroom is finished and I could enjoy a hot bath. For the first time since this summer.

Our upper floor is slowly but surely getting organized again. And the dust is being taken cared of. One step at a time. Tomorrow we will have guests over in the evening and they can go upstairs without risking their lives. Lol.

My worst fear came true.. my appointment was cancelled.. 🙁 Or postponed maybe I should say. The upside is that I still have that to look forward to and I got a whole afternoon free to fill with other things. The downside is.. well.. I was really looking forward to it and my shoulders are not in the best of shape right now.

So, I treated myself a nacho de lux-lunch at TacoBell. On my way home I got two phone calls – one letting me know that my sons’ competition outfit were ready to be picked up and one letting me know a Christmas gift I ordered had arrived. Problem solved – afternoon fully booked again.

Today it is my husbands birthday so I have prepared a nice dinner for him when he gets home. Even a yummy dessert that I think maybe our boys will love.

The city is sparkling with lights – the streets around where I work have their own theme and kind of decorations. Now all we are missing is some snow to make it extra pretty.

A very long day with hard work has come to an end. I hope and pray my appointment tomorrow won’t be cancelled for whatever reason – my shoulders are killing me. I am not used to be typing a whole day anymore and after a few hours I get these burning spots that almost bring tears to my eyes.

The workers came back this morning and re-did what I wasn’t happy with. Now I am happy but the ceiling needs to be left to dry for 24 hrs before I am allowed to take that hot bath. The one who waits for something good..

This weekend they lit up all the Christmas decorations in the city and when I got off the subway this morning they had put up a big tree on Stureplan too. It looked quite nice!

The workers did the last part of the bathroom today – or so they thought .. until I got home and called them back again .. They will come back tomorrow and re-do the ceiling. I know, I am very controlling and picky but when I showed them what I complained about they agreed with me and will now correct their mistakes. So, I have to wait a while longer for my bath.. 🙁

Time for a really girly day together – my mother, my sister and my nieces went to see Flashdance – the musical – at Chinateatern in Stockholm. It was our birthday present to grandma this year and we had a really good time together.

The show was really good and we all had a great time. The dancers and singers were amazing. A good musical is really something we all enjoy.

Walking back to the subway we passed a lot of Christmas decorations – they turned all the lights on in the city yesterday. It was really fun to see! The decorations on Sergels Torg are really spectacular and this year the rain deers have been replaced with elks. They looked great!

Back home again my parents in law were over for dinner and I made it just in time for coffee and cake. A good Sunday!

Today it is this amazing woman’s birthday – I hope you, mom, have had the best day! Last night you treated us a wonderful dinner and tomorrow we will enjoy our present to you together seeing the musical Flashdance.

I hope they will sing for you tonight a the big Hammarby gala you are going to – I know they appreciate all your hard work through the years. Happy birthday mom – I <3 you!

Today Starbucks promoted their products by handing out free samples of their ice coffee. It was quite good – I haven’t tried cold coffee before. I wonder if they might open soon – shall be interesting to see on Monday.

Bathroom still not finished – the workers will be back on Monday. But, so far they have done a great job even though it takes forever. We need to figure out a few minor changes such as new hangers and such. Good thing a weekend starts!

Tonight we are going to dinner to my parents to celebrate my mothers birthday. My boys are feeling better so we can all go and enjoy the evening!
