Mello – finale

Time to choose which song and artist that will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest. 10 of us gathered together at my sisters’ for a nice dinner and evening together.

Been a busy bee this afternoon cleaning my fridge while it is still winter. Perfect way to keep the groceries still frozen and put them outside in the snow for a couple of hours. Nice to get it done too.

The result of the evening;

1. Loreen – Tattoo – winner!
2. Marcus o Martinus – Air
3. Smash into pieces – Six feet under
4. Jon Henrik Fjällgren Arc. North feat. Adam Woods – Where you are
5. Theoz – Mer av dig
6. Kiana – Where did you go
7. Paul Rey – Royals
8. Mariette – One day
9. Maria Sur – Never give up
10. Panetoz – On my way
11. Nordman – Släpp alla sorger
12. Tone Sekelius – Rythm of my Show

Jo won the desirable trophy to cherish for a year. Congratulations!

Afterwork

Another winter day but not quite as cold today as yesterday. Still a lot of snow though.

A day with a lot of fixing and sorting things at work with an afterwork event to finish the week. So nice. Just to sit down together with a pizza slice and a glass of wine.

Of course the subway didn’t match the buses in Fruängen on my way back home so I called my hubby and he was an angel and picked me up. Now some corner time before it’s time to hug my pillow.

-14C

A gorgeous morning but so very cold with -14C. Brrrr. Loads of snow piled up but the roads neatly plowed so once you are on the road there is no problem walking. The big climb to get over the edges can be challenging though…

Long day at work today and not many people in. Tomorrow night we have an AW-event so then I assume we’ll have a full house. Looking forward to that!

Snow snow snow

A good decision to work from home today. Our youngest defied the weather and managed to get to work – but after he left all buses were cancelled around us. So, after work he had to walk back from the subway.

I think we have received about 10¨ of snow – close to 30cm – since yesterday. With some luck the community will be able to clear all the roads by tomorrow so the buses are up and running again so we can get to work.

Made pizza for dinner tonight – mmm. Now some corner time before it’s time to hug the pillow.

Cod with spinach

Today they predicted really bad weather but the forecast said it would start in the afternoon so we went to work and left a bit earlier to get back home before it started. Now it is snowing a lot so that was a smart choice.

Made cod with spinach for dinner. Tasted better than the picture looks – lol. The boys got a wok from the leftover meat from last night.

Looking forward to a day working from home tomorrow. Haven’t had that in a while but I really enjoy being at the office so when it isn’t a snowstorm I don’t mind going in. Going back on Thursday when the storm has passed.

Winter

New week and a really cold start with -6C this morning and snow this afternoon. Short day for me and I’ve been busy with ironing and other fun things this afternoon.

Made a flank steak for dinner with oven baked potatoes. Turned out pretty good.

The weather-forecast is not very promising the next couple of days. It will be really windy and a lot of snow will fall that might cause all kind of problem. My hubby said maybe we should work from home the next couple of days. We’ll decide tomorrow.

85

A special day and time for celebrations! My dad turns 85 years old today and we went over to their house for coffee and cake. He was much celebrated and received so many flowers and greetings! My mom had baked all kinds of treats – yum – and also bought cakes from the local bakery. A lovely afternoon!

Happy birthday, dad! You and mom mean the world to me / us – love you!

Mello – semi

My dad is treating us to a family dinner tonight to celebrate his upcoming birthday tomorrow with just the closest family members. Nice!

After dinner we are going to their house for some cake and fizz to continue the evening together, and also to watch the semi finals in the Melodifestivalen. Tonight we are voting on which four participants of the runner-ups that will go thru to the finale next weekend.

Theoz – Mer av dig – finale
Mariette – One day – finale
Victor Crone – Diamonds
Tennessee Tears – Now I know
Elov & Beny – Raggen går
Melanie Wehbe – For the Show
Nordman – Släpp alla sorger – finale
Kiana – Where did you go – finale

Friday treat

Friday again and my oldest joined me in town and we went to TGI for a real treat for lunch. So nice that he wants to spend time with his mom! We had a lovely chat and it was a welcome break in a busy day.

My oldest niece impressed today too by completing her part of the Vasaloppet relay. So strong and brave! *proud aunt* We could follow her team during the race on the graphics provided by the event on line. Fun!

Picked up some grilled chicken on my way home and now we’ve had a nice Friday dinner together. Weekend here we come!

Busy day

Yesterday when I walked back from work I passed these valleys in Old town. Love them. Tricky to find one that wasn’t filled with tourists though. Lol.

A strange day at work – our phone lines stopped working for a while which caused us all sorts of problems. But, finally it all sorted itself out.

Got home at the same time as my hubby. Made a pork filet with gratin for dinner. Now some corner time and a few more episodes of “Fauda” – the Israeli series we’ve started to watch on Netflix. Quite good!
