What a great evening we have had – and on the national “hug”-theme day. A great ending of a Saturday.
My sister and brother-in-law had invited us and two of our best friends over for a nice dinner. They had decorated their livingroom so pretty and we really had the best evening. Starting with some fizz and snacks and followed by a delicious two course dinner. We had made the dessert and brought with us.
An evening filled with great food, company, chats and dreams of a future travel together. Last time the six of us went to Scotland. I wonder where we will go next time.
Tired
Friday and a cold morning with several degrees below 0C this morning. But, after work it was a bit rainy and a couple of degrees above 0C instead. Took a walk after work and found a pop-up-store with the china we are collecting. They had a clear-out with 50% off on everything that was left so I bought a couple of plates. Perfect.
Picked up dinner tonight (being lazy) and now we are watching another episode of “Wednesday” before the next Swedish handball game is on. Let the weekend begin!
Leftovers
Thursday already – and time to finish off some of the leftovers in the fridge. Hubby is out on a work-thing tonight so it’s just me and the boys. I chose the smoked pork sausage with the chive-stewed potatoes.. mmm.. The boys got two other dishes so we did good clearing the fridge.
Tucked in my corner enjoying a pot of herb tea and watching Denmark vs. Croatia playing handball. Sweden won their game last night – next one tomorrow. So much fun sports to enjoy. I’m not complaining.
Midweek
A very busy short day but I got a lot done so that was good. Took this photo from the station platform on my way home – I love it when they turn on the lights in the tunnels so you can see the rail.
Watching a new series tonight – decided to watch “Wednesday” on Netflix. It’s about the daughter of the Addams family which has received quite good reviews, so we thought we’d give it a try.
First game for Sweden of the middle round in the handball tournament tonight. Facing Hungary. Four groups with six teams in each group where only the top two goes on to the play offs. So every win is important this round. Fingers crossed and Go Sweden!
Rain and snow
Went in a bit earlier this morning due to a meeting first thing. Now with the snow gone it is so very dark outside.
Around lunchtime it started to snow in the city and by the time I went home the snow had shifted to rain. Brrr. Not very nice. Took this photo on my way to the subway going home.
Hubby was working from home today so dinner was on the table when I got back. Lovely. We had an appointment for the yearly vehicle inspection and we didn’t get any objections or things to fix. Great.
Mixed feelings
Last night our girls won the silver medal after have been completely ran over by Canada with 10-0. But, still, what an achievement! They have every reason to be proud! We have a great future in these young ladies. And extra fun since the championship was played here in Sweden.
New week – new challenges. Quite a busy day today and even more busy day tomorrow. Had an online meeting this afternoon with my financial advisor going thru what my employer has set up for me and what I have in private insurances and savings. Pretty good to do so every now and then I think. Everything looked good.
Castle of the month – Sturehof
Sunday already. The weekends go by way too quickly. The sun came out for a bit so we decided to take a tour and do something. We invited my parents to come along and drove over to Sturehov/Norsborg to visit the Sturehof Slottskafé for an afternoon treat. The weather wasn’t as nice when we arrived as when we left but we did take a short walk around the premises before we sat down for our coffees. So nice to get out of the house for a bit and do something else.
Tonight we are going to cheer on our juniors in the world cup ice hockey for the 18-year old women. The US just beat Finland and grabbed the bronze medal. Tonight we are in the final towards Canada. May the best team win!
Win win
Time to take away the last Xmas decorations and the tree. Loved our tree this year – it smells gorgeous and has not dropped that many pine needles so we have kept it longer than usually. But, now Xmas is packed away until December.
A great day – our young ladies managed to defeat the US in the WW18 hockey semi finals. The US hasn’t missed a finale since this tournament started in 2008. Finland is playing semi towards Canada. Canada has missed the finale once – that year Sweden took the silver. Amazing statistics for the US and Canada.
Tonight we are cheering on Sweden playing handball towards Cap Verde. Then we have one more game in their group – towards Uruguay. Three teams in each groups advances to the next round.
One week done
Finally Friday and the first week completed after the holidays. It has been both a very long week but at the same time it has gone by fairly quickly. Strange.
Picked up some steak on my way home after work and made a nice dinner for my boys. Sirloin served with veggies, cottage cheese (for me..), panfried onions and fries. Mmm. Now I’m enjoying a glass of wine in my corner waiting for “På Spåret” to begin.
Sushi
Rainy Thursday and long day. Decided to get some sushi for lunch – haven’t had it in ages and we have a sushi place just down the street so it’s no bother getting some. Said and done. 10pcs with salmon, rolls and avocado. Mmmm.
Hubby had made dinner when I got back from work. Nice to sit down to a set table.
Now I’m going to watch our first game in the world cup in handball. Sweden along with Poland are the hosts for this event and the top games are played here in Stockholm. Fun!
