A great ending of a hectic week – a girls night out with my mother starting with dinner in town at Pane Fresco. We enjoyed some pasta and a glass of white and it was really nice. Then we took the tram to Djurgården to go to the Circus Arena to watch the musical Witches of Eastwick. We got there in time to enjoy a glass of bubbly before the show. And it was a great show with great artists! Afterwards we tried to take the tram back to the city but there was just not enough room on the trams for all the people so we ended up taking a way too expensive cab instead. We should have asked for a fixed price. Oh well. We got home safe and quick and a few hundred kronor less in our wallet. But it was a great evening together!
Rosehips
Already Thursday and quite a busy day. The nature is sparkling with color now but it was not very pleasant outside today. Windy and a bit rainy. Not so cold anymore though which is nice.
Was a bit lazy tonight and picked up grilled chicken for dinner. Just cooked some rise to go with. My oldest stayed late in school and my husband arrived home from his business trip and they both got home just in time for dinner. Nice to sit down all four together – we try to do that as often as possible.
Late lunch
Stayed in town for a late lunch after work today – and decided to have an old favorite at Vetekatten. Their goats cheese sallad is to die for. Yum! Met up with a friend who was in town for business and we had a nice lunch and chat.
Now I’m having a quiet evening at home – the boys are upstairs and my husband is away on business until tomorrow. Catching up on some series and enjoying a coffee in my corner. Going to bed early I think.
Pink roses
My husband bought me these beautiful pink roses yesterday for our anniversary. So nice with some color!
A quite busy day. We finished some leftovers for dinner and now we’ve been struggling a bit with this site. A change in the code needed to be done which gave me some more grey hair but with a little help of my husband we managed to update the code and I could access the admin-page again. Why can’t things ever be easy?
7 Oct 1995
24 years ago we said our I’do-s in Enskede Kyrka in front of friends and family. Time flies. Next year we will have our big 25th. Cause for celebrations! I remember when my parents had their 25th anniversary – they took the whole family out for a boat ride and dinner. And when I moved into my extended family my American parents celebrated their 25th anniversary. Such special times.
But, that will be next year. This years anniversary is a velvet-anniversary. Silver will have to wait another 12 months.
Short day at work and I’ve picked up some nice dinner to prepare for tonight. Let’s hope it will turn out great!
Spiken
For the 49th time my parents arranged the Spiken run in the forrest here in Segeltorp. Amazing.
My husband returned the challenge prize – Spiken – from last year – and achieved a new challenge prize this year – Ugglan – which was the winning price – closes to the average – for competitors who ran 2,7 km (men older than 35). My brother-in-law managed to complete 5,4 km and won the challenge-prize for men furthest away from the average time. So two challenge prizes remains in the family for next year when the competition is celebrating 50 years.
My husband is cleaning the spa this afternoon and I am making a hotpot for dinner. Takes about the same amount of time. Lol.
Joker
We have been busy bees all day running around fixing things, getting organized and bought groceries. So we decided to have a nice relaxed ending of a busy day and asked my sisters family if they wanted to come along and watch the new movie Joker with Joaquin Phoenix in the lead. My sis preferred an evening to herself but the rest of us went and the movie was really good. He deserves an Oscar for the part. Wow. A very sad story of a man with all sorts of issues – both mental and physical – who is trying to fit in to society and wants to be a comedian. But the world isn’t very nice to him and drives him to revolt. A movie that will not leave anyone untouched.
Treat
An exhausting week in many ways and I needed a carrot in the end to keep me going so I decided to make use of the treatment at Centralbadet in Stockholm I received for my birthday last year which I haven’t been able to book before now.
So today I enjoyed a hot stone massage after work and I made a deal with them and skipped the entrance fee since I didn’t want to use the bath-facilities and could pay only for the massage. This gave me a some money left on the gift certificate which I can use some other time. Perfect!
And the massage was great! Felt so relaxed and well taken cared of. Just what I needed. Thank you to my aunt and uncle and cousin w/ family for the perfect gift! And so nice to receive gifts that lasts a long time too!
Breakfast
Very long day starting with breakfast at work – organized by me – and followed by a half a day of training. The breakfast was a success and I got a lot of appreciation for it which was nice.
Left-over-lasagna for dinner and now some corner time while cheering on the Swedish competitors in the WCH in Doha. A nice cup of coffee to go with. One more day and then another weekend awaits. This one starting with a massage at Centralbadet (my birthday present from last year) and ending with Spiken – the traditional race my parents arrange every year.
Everything counts
Midweek and awful weather. Raining, grey sky, windy. Brrr. It was ok this morning but as I went home it wasn’t anymore. And now tonight it is really bad – no spa tonight either. Bummer.
Managed to get home on time and I have used my precious time well. Picked up some groceries on the way and now a lasagna is waiting on the troops for dinner. Also some burgers for the son who doesn’t understand lasagna is tasty. Lol.
Need to start paying attention to the little things again. Focus and turn this around. A challenge but I am getting there.
