Thursday and last day to work this week since it is Midsummer tomorrow. Long weekend awaits with time to spend with family and friends. Lovely.
Saw this fantastic mug and had some wishful thinking it might be a perfect match for me from my nieces. Colorful and slightly crazy (fun?). Hm.
Now time to cheer on our ladies playing soccer facing the U.S. I have a feeling we will loose this game but hope is the last thing that abandons the body and mind. We have managed to go thru to the next round regardless if we win or loose this one. Facing either Holland or Canada in the eight final.
New day
Our roses have started to bloom – the white ones and purple ones anyway. The other two roses are not in bloom yet but have a lot of buds.
I have finished a batch of elderflower cordial – right in time for midsummer. Nice for a warm summers day.
Made burgers for dinner for me and my youngest – it was just the two of us home for dinner tonight. Now some tv-time before it is time to hug my pillow.
Pyssel hos E – 18 jun 2019
Vi hann träffas en sista gång innan sommarsemestrar och ledighet – tyvärr var A borta på jobbresa men vi övriga fem sågs hemma hos E och kunde avnjuta en jättegod ytterfilé-gryta med svamp o ris sittandes utomhus. Jag var kvällens chaufför och drack därmed inte av vinet som bjöds på kvällen till ära.
Efter maten dukade vi av och flyttade in då det blev lite svalt ute när solen försvann runt hörnet. Där fick vi kaffe o bakelse med vispgrädde o färska jordgubbar. Mmmm. En härlig kväll med bästa gänget. Nu tar vi sommarlov och ses i augusti / september.
New challenges
New week – and the sun is shining. Picked up a chèvre sallad on the way home from this new place in Fruängen where I have bought yoghurt ice cream a couple of times. The sallad was really good – and not very expensive either. And they have several more kinds to chose between.
Been a busy bee ironing this afternoon. Can’t believe how quickly it piles up. Feels great to get it all done. Now some time to relax before it’s time to get dinner on the table for the younger troops. My husband is out tonight on a sailboat with some friends from work. I hope they have a good trip!
Busy Sunday
Another lazy day to recover. Spent some time in my hammock reading my book again. Already finished it once but decided to read it again (I’m a slow reader so it takes some time).
Went to get two table fans for our paradise while there still are some left in the store. My parents are going down there tomorrow and could bring them for us. I also bought a hammock – the same as the one I spend a lot of time in at home – to have down there. My chair in our paradise is often taken so I need a plan B. Lol.
We won the second soccer game in the World Cup so we are thru to the next round. Still one game to play though – towards the US. Would be wonderful if we would win that one too – it’s played on Thursday.
Day off
Weekend. Finally. We went grocery shopping before lunch and picked up some McD on the way back. Afternoon spent in my hammock reading my book, done some laundry, baked a cake in my new cake pan, bbq ribs for dinner. Now some corner time in front of the tv. Going to try the cake and have a cup of tea. I hope tomorrow will be about the same – no musts or have-to’s and just relax and regain some energy.
Me-time
Full week completed. Puh. Ended the day with a massage and it was just what I needed. Now I’m a bit tired since it’s been a while since I had my last massage.
Picked up some fresh strawberries on my way home as a treat for tonight. We bbq some meat and had dinner outside. Now we’re going to watch some TV and maybe make it an early night. A whole weekend ahead – yeah!
Guided tour
Tonight we had an afterwork event with my colleagues and we had booked a guided tour of the renovation of our National Museum with a dinner to follow. We had a great guide and the museum was really beautiful after the huge make-over. I recommend a visit!!
Afterwards we had booked a nice dinner in the Session Chamber at the museum. We enjoyed a lovely meal and a nice couple of hours of chatting. Perfect ending!
My husband and brother-in-law ran the Sthlm 10-race tonight. It’s been raining more or less all day – even some thunder and lightning – so it was not the best conditions even though it was plenty of oxygen in the air. They both completed the race – P slightly slower than last year and J improved since last year. Next race – Midnattsloppet in August.
Congratulations
Time to celebrate the next graduate among our friends. Congratulations on your big day! We have been fed and entertained all evening and it was really nice to be able to be part of her big day. And nice to talk to old friends for a few hours.
I met up with a dear friend for lunch today and we had a great chat and reflection on things. We should see each other more often – I love our conversations.
A bit cloudy day and chilly in the evening but no rain so far – but it might rain tonight though. Good for the garden.
Clouds and rain
A cloudy rainy day and not very nice outside at all. Had to run a few errands today so plenty of steps on my pedometer today. Busy day but quite productive so I went home with a smile. Picked up a pair of shoes I had ordered on line with free delivery to a store and they were just what I had hoped for. Lovely. Now I just need a pair of nicer ones to wear with a dress. Saw a pair I might try.
Tonight Sweden enters the Womens World Cup in soccer held in France and first game is facing Chile. They play in Group F together with the US, Chile and Thailand. A win would be good.
