-13 and snowing ?

Today I had serious doubts about getting out of the house this morning. It was -13C, snowing sideways and the busses were a nightmare. But, as the day went by it stopped snowing and the sun started to shine and all of a sudden it was a gorgeous day.

Spent the afternoon at the hairdresser and I was done about the same time as my sister got off work, so she gave me a ride home. Yeah! Lovely. A quality half-hour chatting with her – doesn’t happen every day. And my hair turned out pretty good – slightly darker with strand of hair in different colors. No more grey.

Alone

A long day at the office and hardly anyone there. A few things here and there kept me a bit occupied but in a slow pace. Nice for a change. The last hour I was all by myself.

It was so very cold today – I put on extra everything this morning. -13C and snowing sideways – and 12 hours later it is still the same. The bus got stuck twice going to the subway but managed to wiggle loose and continue. The hard wind made the temperature feel even colder so I’m very glad I didn’t have to get off and walk. Brrrr. Spring can come any day now. Tomorrow would be nice.

Winter

It’s been snowing all night and they said on the news it would snow pretty much all week and be really cold again. No spring in sight, but I guess it’s still February so it can’t be expected yet in weeks.

Tried to find something new to wear on my way back home but crashed and burned on that effort. We have been invited to a party with a theme-color (gold) but the shops don’t exactly have an abundance with choices – neither for my figure or wallet. I am not really a big shopper either – hate having to try things on just to find that nothing fits. Oh well.

PyeongChang Winter Olympics 2018

The last day of the Olympics and I am tucked in my corner following the ladies 30km mass start classics. Our last chance on a medal this time.

We have managed to get a lot of medals this Olympics – some surprises and some expected. But we have also missed some of our chances to medal – our freestyle skiers (ski-cross) and snowboard (big-air) failed in their efforts, our cross country men didn’t manage to reach any medals (a lot of close ones) but my biggest disappointment was, of course, our hockey teams who both lost in their quarter finals. But over all we have done great! Go Sweden!!!

Turning 18

Happy birthday my dear son! Wish you a wonderful birthday and I hope you are able to enjoy it with your boarding friends in your school in Brussels. The flag is up (actually we haven’t taken it down since last weekend when you were here and we had your birthday party a week early) and the sun is shining. It is freezing -13C outside and our back yard is covered with snow. I hope you feel great and that maybe you were able to go out last night and have dinner in town. But, whatever you decided to do I hope you had a great time and that you feel good. I know you want to sleep in today so I will not wake you up just yet, but I might try to call you later. Love you!

Mello 4

Time for the last of the four competitions leading up to the final and the last two songs that will go straight to the finale will be chosen. Then next weekend it is the competition between all the songs given a second chance to reach the final. So far I’ve not been impressed with the songs to chose from.

Part  4: Örnsköldsvik
1. Emmi Christensson – Icarus
2. Elias Abbas – Mitt paradis
3. Felicia Olsson – Break That Chain
4. Rolandz – Fuldans – finale
5. Olivia Eliasson – Never Learn – 2nd chance
6. Felix Sandman – Every Single Day – 2nd chance
7. Mariette – For You – finale

Tonight we are going to a birthday dinner so we will not be watching the show with our friends this time.

Friday again

This week passed by pretty quickly. Last days of the Olympics this weekend and no pride and joy in the hockey final. Or even in the bronze game. Germany actually managed to take out both Sweden and Canada and is now in the final towards OAR. Amazing.

We did get a gold today – in the men’s biathlon relay 4×7,5 km. Yeah! And also both our men and women are in the final in the curling event. Yeah!

Today at work we were treated carrot cake and I got to take a piece with me back home as a treat for tonight. Lovely. It was delicious.

Pia

Happy names’ day, mom!

Great day at the Olympics today – first a gold in slalom for men, Andre Myhrer! Yeah! And then a silver in the 4x6km biathlon relay for women! And our gents managed to go thru to the finale in curling, so at least a silver (hopefully gold) for them too!

Now fingers crossed our ladies will be equally successful in their curling semi final tomorrow.

Game night

Our ladies managed to get silver in the cross country team sprint today. Yeah. But that was about all that was good about the sport events this Wednesday. Our pride and joy fell towards Germany. None of the Nordic countries managed to go thru to the semi finals in ice-hockey. Don’t know when that happened last.

After work I met up with my parents to cheer on our handball team but it was the worst game in a long time. Lost 29-20 towards Lugi. Let’s put this day behind us and pray tomorrow will bring something fun to look forward to.

More snow

It’s been snowing all night and spring seems far away again. A very busy day at work but I got a lot done. Had a forgotten favorite for lunch – fried herring with mashed potatoes. Yum!

I will work full days the rest of this week. One day at a time. And weekend will come any day.
