Midweek treat

A really early start today – our oldest tried to register for an exam on site but the line was too long. So he has to wait for the next time. Bummer. Oh well – he gave it an honest try.

I had to stay a bit after work today too but my lunch date had to cancel so I didn’t mind. I decided to treat myself to the lunch we were supposed to have anyway. The restaurant has just recently re-opened after a renovation due to a fire. And it turned out great!

Dinner is in the oven – cod with rise. Time to get it out!

Long day..

The workers knocked on our door at 07.00 this morning and said that they would blow up the big rock they had to remove in order to continue and asked me to move our car in case they would run into problems such as accidentally destroy the main water pipe .. I moved the car and went to work with my fingers crossed everything would go ok. Got back home 12 hrs later and the house was still there, car was ok and we still had water in our pipes. Yeah.

Back in the treadmill again

Time to get back in the treadmill again. Alarm went off at 05.45 and then the day passed by like any other Monday. It’s above 0C again so the snow is melting away. Quickly. By the time I left the office water was running down the streets.. I don’t mind the winter – the snow is really pretty and it doesn’t feel so dark outside when everything is covered with white fluff. But I do mind when winter can’t decide. Just leave the snow on the ground and let it be cold for a month or two. And then melt it away and let spring arrive.

Last day off

The holiday went by so fast – and now the family is back together again. These two alp-travelers arrived back home last night – the luggage is still on its way though. Might take another day or two before it arrives. There is always something…

Last day off this time. Now it’s time to get back to the every-day-life with work and school again before it’s time for the next adventure. My turn to visit the alps next month. But from the Italian side. Exciting! I both long and dread the trip. I am so very afraid of heights .. might be too much of a challenge for me.

Homecoming!

It’s been snowing all night again. Another 10 inches of snow to showel. Puh. It’s not cold today – around 0C / 32F – which means that the snow is heavy again. Puh.

Our French-alps-travelers are coming back tonight with our car so I have to clear the driveway from snow. Good exercise, I guess. And I need to exercise.. So, it’s just to get out there and get it done. I have made a lasagna to treat our travelers for dinner when they get back home. I hope they won’t be too delayed. Going to be great to see them again and have the family gathered in one place again.

-21C ..

This morning it was absolutely freezing outside with -21C / -5,8F. But after a couple of hours it was less cold and quite sunny.

Decided to make myself useful today and vacuumed downstairs. After a meatball / pasta lunch my sis picked us up and we all went to the movies and saw “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. It was actually pretty good!

Afterwards we went to pick up some take away food and then had dinner together at our house. It was a lovely afternoon and evening – nice to spend some quality time together. Tomorrow our alp-travelers are returning back home. Can’t wait!

Still snowing.. ☃

So much snow – powder this time which is much easier to sweep. But it’s a lot of snow to take care of and with the grand-canyon-looking hole in our street it is quite a challenge. It’s been -10C all week too. Brrr.

Had to run some errands today and since our car is parked out by the airport I had to go by bus. First to Skärholmen and I actually found what I was looking for and with a big discount too. Yeah. Then to Fruängen to pick up the medicine that had arrived. Also bought dinner for today and tomorrow. Then bus back home. Made it in about 2 hrs so not too bad.

We lost the semi finals – bummer. But, facing Canada in Canada is always a challenge. So, bronze game tonight. Towards Russia. Exciting!

Snow again

What a day. It’s been snowing all night and it is still snowing now in the afternoon. I have been out three times sweeping snow. Hard work so I had to divide the effort. But, I made it! All done. Then I took the bus to Fruängen – needed to go to the pharmacy and also get some lunch for us.

Now some well deserved sofa time in my corner enjoying another couple of episodes of my series.

Cold ?

Woke up this morning and it was -10C outside. Brrrr. Where did that come from and boy am I glad I took my walk to my parents yesterday!

It was a great hockey game last night which we ended up winning 8-3. But, it got a bit too exciting there for a minute when they all of a sudden started to catch up. Semi-finals next. Towards Canada. In Canada. Talk about a tough game – one that I will have to record since they play it on prime time in Canada which means 01.30 AM Swedish time. Oh well.  The tricky part is to avoid the news so I can watch the recording without knowing the result.

Week off

A luxury week ahead. My plan is to relax and get ready to face another year with all it has to offer. I am not going to let the fire-alarm that started beeping early this morning annoy me. Lol. Instead think of it as a blessing that gave me a reason to get up and enjoy a quiet morning. Looking at the snow that is now covering the back yard as the sun rises. Listening to Adéle – (she’s such an amazing artist) performing at Radio City Music Hall.

Took a another walk over to my parents today – and what a lovely day to be outdoors. Quite chilly now though and more winter-like with the snow.

And tonight our young pride and joy play the quarter final – might need to put my yellow jersey on for that one. What a good way to start the new year!
