The more I try to help my boys gain weight – the more I put on myself.. and now it is Friday again.. with all the treats and goodies that comes with it.. God, give me strength to resist.
And a weekend ahead with my oldest turning 18, ESC finale and my youngest getting his diploma as a youth leader… Please let the scale be my friend on Monday morning and not laugh at me.

Focus
Midweek again. Time to focus and prepare. Get ready for the last part of this week with a lot of things going on. Important things.
The first half of the day actually gave us some sunny weather for a change to all this rain. Still a bit too chilly for my taste but definitely an improvement from yesterday.
Fingers crossed the warm sunny weather is coming soon!
The Royal Opera
There is a first time for everything and today it was my first time to see a whole opera. We were given the opportunity to get really inexpensive tickets in the parquet to see “La traviata” with music by Verdi. The story is based on “Lady of the Camelias” by Alexandr Dumas the younger. This was a more modern version that took place in the world as it is today and instead of 3 parts it was 2 parts.
The opera was performed in Italian with Swedish surtitles to guide the audience through. Both my husband and I struggled a bit to follow the story and to be honest neither of us were planning on what to see next time before we left.. Lol. But, it was a great experience and the opera singers where amazing. I am sure I will go and see another opera but next time I will chose one that I am more familiar with.
The Royal Opera in Sweden was founded by Gustav III and is the national stage for opera and ballet and it has been since January 18, 1773 when the first performance was given. The building was replaced by a new building about 100 years later on orders given by king Oscar II since the old one was in such a bad shape.
New week
Unbelievable, but it is still raining outside and quite chilly. Good for the garden and all the flowers – but I would like to be able to sit outside and enjoy the sun.
A very busy week ahead with a ton of things that have to work in order to get everything done. Fingers crossed things will go smoothly and no bumps on the road.
Rain rain rain
This morning didn’t invite to any garden work – it’s raining raining raining outside and I think it has been for most part of the night. Good for my newly planted flowers – and I bet the toad is happy too!
The finale in this years edition of the world championships in ice-hockey today. Canada vs. Russia. Both teams packed with excellent players. Can go either way. Bronze fight between the US and Czechia.
PS! USA – Czechia 3-0
Canada – Russia 6-1
Time for weekend
A nice quiet morning by myself watching the voting part of Let’s Dance from last night (we ended up watching something else so I recorded it). I must say there are some amazing dancers in this 10 year anniversary of the show. My favorites are Anton Hysén and Morgan Alling.
An excellent breakfast to start a great weekend – omelette, bread, fresh juice, tee and now a coffee to complete.
After a visit to the garden center I got busy working in the garden and found a little assistant about 5 inches down into the ground. Lucky I didn’t injure him/her!
Have a great weekend!
Bridge day
Today was a working day between a weekend and a holiday – a so called bridge day (klämdag). An extremely quiet office with not terribly much to do – just enough to get by.
Friday treat – fish & chips – and now tucked in my corner with a whole weekend ahead to enjoy and relax. I was hoping to cheer for our Tre Kronor this weekend but now I have to pick another team since they lost the quarter final yesterday. Hmm.. might put my money on Canada instead to not have to chose between the US and Russia. Sorry Czechia – you don’t get my vote.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Ascension Day
It has been all kinds of weather today – this Ascension day. Right now the sun is shining and it is lovely outside – but it started to rain a couple of hours ago when I was outside.
A day off from work and school – a nice family day at home. Slept in for a little bit – but then I’ve been a busy bee all day. Laundry, groceries, yard work, vacuuming and moped the floors. And I also squeezed in some time in my corner watching a bit of ice hockey since it is quarter final day today.
USA – Switzerland 3-1
Canada – Belarus 9-0
Finland – Czechia and 3-5
Sweden – Russia 3-5
Picanha tonight
Since it is Ascension Day tomorrow we had reduction of working hours today. Very busy day though since everyone wanted to squeeze a whole day into a half day..
It’s been raining all day so my raincoat was just perfect – even though you have to put on a brave face to wear it.. Lol.
Going to cook a Brazilian steak tonight called picanha. A lot of beef for hardly any money. And very tasty too. Perfect!
