Tonight it’s the last round of the Melodifestivalen and we will watch it here in Norway. Luckily they have Swedish channels here. A very foggy day today but we will keep up our good effort and ski anyway. Last night my husband and youngest tried the evening ski event and received a couple of new pins to the collection.

3. JTR
4. Hasse Andersson
5. Dinah Nah

Knettsetra
Another snowy day with no sunshine but we have been skiing all day anyway.
Today we had lunch in the middle of the slopes at a really cozy little inn. Their goulash was famous and I can understand why. But they didn’t want to give me the recipe..
Windy
A new day – new challenges! Much better snow today and my body felt slightly better after a resting day. It has been snowing off and on all day and when we got up to the top it was quite windy too. 14m/sec (31 miles/hr). But I managed two rides down before lunch! Yeah!
Our snowboarder decided to switch to skis for a couple of days to get a new challenge. We had a great day in the slopes today.
Fifteen
A really bad ski-day for all of us – it was warm and a bit rainy so the snow was really heavy and wet. I gave up after a few minutes and the rest gave up after an hour or two. We went down to Trysil for lunch and a treat to bring back for the afternoon tea. Tonight our birthday boy chose bowling for the family and he beat us all the first round. The second round his brother took the gold medal. It was a good birthday I think. Let’s hope it will get colder tomorrow so the skiing experience will be better!
Triple effort
Another snowy day but today I managed three times down the whole hill before lunch!
The lift is about 2 km long! Each run takes almost 30 min and my muscles burn pretty bad after a while. My body will be sooo sore tomorrow.
Snow snow snow
Got up early and enjoyed a hotel breakfast – then the two most eager skiers went out ahead of me and my oldest and then we joined them when we were ready. I am so proud of myself – rode the whole hill (blue/green one I know) but I am so out of practice that was enough for me for a first day. Now we are relaxing a bit while the eager skiers are out there for another couple of hours..
Travel

Birthday party
My youngest has his birthday next week – 15 years old – but since we will be away we had invited our family over tonight for a coffee and cake. I had ordered a special cake for him and it was a success!
Last day at work for a week – a vacation is just what we need right now. All four of us are really tired and in the need of a change of environment and focus. Maybe spring has arrived when we get back from our ski trip. That would be great.
XL-galan
Finally – Thursday eve and XL-galan in our fine arena Globen. And it was a great evening with many really good results – and a world record to put that silver lining on top! Genzebe Dibaba had announced she was going to try and set a new wr in 5000 m and she did with flying colors! The new record, 14.18.86, was almost 6 seconds quicker than the last one! Amazing!
5 Swedes managed to qualify for the indoor European championships tonight. Our own jumper from Hammarby, Michael Tornéus, was one of them, with a nice series of jumps where the longest one measured 8.07. Great start of the season!
I had a great evening with my parents and my best friend! Life is not so bad.
