As this is the last Melodifestivalen for Christer Björkman – the man in charge behind the scenes and producer since 20 years – he will host all the six shows with a different co-host each Saturday. First out is Lena Philipsson.
Due to the pandemic we will not be able to meet up with our friends and watch it together either – so we will hook up via Zoom before and maybe after to see each other this way for a bit. Difficult times require new ways to reach the goal.

Eurovision – Europe Shine A light
In addition to spotlighting the 41 songs of 2020, the unique production will include special performances from popular artists from Eurovision’s past. 2020’s artists will also join together, from their locations across Europe, in a unifying performance of 1997’s Eurovision winner Love Shine A Light by Katrina and the Waves.
Sietse Bakker, Executive Producer Event of what would have been the 65th Eurovision Song Contest, said: “We want to make a show that puts a spotlight not only on the 41 artists that were due to appear in Rotterdam but also inspire those at home and connect people from across Europe and beyond in these difficult times. Of course, we will also honour those who are affected by the coronavirus crisis and those who work so hard to fight it.
Let’s make this an unforgettable moment in Eurovision history!”
Sveriges 12:a
Due to the corona virus the Eurovision Song Contest is cancelled this year. But tonight Sweden has put together a program with the 25 finalists the viewers have voted for in the Mello-app.
Time to vote one more time via the app and chose the Eurovision winner 2020 – Sweden not participating since that would be a bit biased. Besides the viewer votes there will also be a jury (Dotter, Charlotte Perelli, Eric Saade, Fredrik Kempe and Lina Hedlund) handing out 1-12 points. Host of the evening is Sarah Dawn Finer.
1. Efendi ”Cleopatra” (Azerbaijan)

After that the points differed quite a lot between the jury and the people.
Mellofinalen
Finale-time! We have been complaining about the songs not being great so far but the more you listen to them the more they grow on you. No obvious winner though.
Per usual we are gathering at my sisters house (they have the best mello-couch ). We decided to all pitch in and bring a couple of dishes each and make a “smörgåsbord”. We brought chicken skewers in soya sauce, a cheddar cheese pie with creme fraîche and roe and a Scottish fish soup called Cullen Skink. The others had made so many tasty lovely dishes so we were all very full after dinner! Great job everybody!
Melodifestivalen this year has been led by Lina Hedlund, Linnea Henriksson and David Sundin and the finale takes place at Friends Arena as usual.
Result of the evening:
- 1. The Mamas – Move – winner – won by one point (!!) – close call
2. Dotter – Bulletproof
3. Anna Bergendahl – Kingdom Come
4. Hanna Ferm – Brave
5. Anis Don Demina – Vem e som oss
6. Paul Rey – Talking in my sleep
7. Felix Sandman – Boys with emotions- 8. Robin Bengtsson – Take a chance
9. Victor Crone – Troubled Waters
10. Mariette – Shout it out- 11. Méndez feat. Alvaro Estrella – Vamos amigos
- 12. Mohombi – Winners
ME won the desirable trophy to cherish for a year – she managed to score 3 correct answers (!), the other youngsters had either 1 or 2 correct answers and none of all six of us adults scored any points at all. Lol.
2nd chance
Time to send the last contestants to the finale. And as usual they are competing two and two in four duels.
Tonight they are in Eskilstuna and we are hosting the evening. Nice dinner and a glas of red. And some SPA-time!

- Duel 3 – Felix Sandman – Frida Öhrn
- Duel 4 – Méndez feat Alvaro Estrella – Drängarna
Finale-time next weekend. Let’s see who will represent us in the Netherlands.
