Sotji – day 6

image

It was an exciting first half of the day with the mens slopestyle where we had three guys entering.  Henrik Harlaut made it to the final 12 and ended up on 6th place. Good job!

Our biathlon guys didn’t come thru – we need new fresh young skiers in this event.

Then our amazing Charlotte Kalla managed to get her second silver medal – this time on the 10k race.

Our guys won their curling this morning and our women won both their games. Both teams have very good chances in making it to the semifinals – great!

We have a figure skater – Majorov – compeeting tonight in the short program. He set a personal record and is currently on the 5th place. Our ladies are playing ice hockey against Russia right now – but they need to shape up in order to win.

Romme

I have just enjoyed a quiet late lunch with the house to myself for a minute or two.  Pyttipanna with a fried egg. Yum.

My youngest is having a great time (I hope) with a winter sportsday up in Romme. He will be snowboarding all day and we dropped him off around 6 this morning and will pick him up again 12-13 hrs later. I hope they will come back exhausted but happy!

Going to bake some more rye bread when I have some new energy.  Our new favorite breakfast rolls. Not to mention the freshly baked one with our evening tea..

Sotji – day 5

Our pride and joy -Tre Kronor – played their first game tonight against Czechia with the great Jaromir Jagr. We will also meet Latvia and Switzerland in the first round.

We started out great with a quick 4-0 lead, then they woke up and made two quick goals but we were able to pull ourselves together and keep the distance. Perfect start!

I really hope our team will go far in this Olympics – we didn’t do too well in the last one but won gold before that.  We have a pretty strong team but are missing a couple of stars due to injuries.

Our men and women have played curling – the round robin continues – with some wins and some losses. I don’t really know how far it will take them. Two of our ladies have competed in the downhill but with no top ten result.

Exhausted

Tuesday – my long day. Quite busy all day which is how I like it.

Now I have crashed in my corner trying to update myself on today’s sport events. Very dramatic ski final. Amazing!

Sotji – day 4

image

What a day! One silver and one bronze to our excellent skiers Peterson and Jönsson. And we even had 3 skiers in the final but the third one came in last.

Our hockey ladies won towards Germany! Good job! Much more stabile than the first game.

A few more good results but no more medals.

Lasagna

My youngest is a brilliant cook and we made a great lasagna together for dinner! It is so much fun to spend time cooking with him – he has a great pallet and tastes and adds herbs and spices as he cooks. I wonder if there is a culinary future for him..

You can find the recipe in my cookbook!

Sundby Gård

A lovely Sunday brunch at Sundby Gård to celebrate my mother-in-law. It was really nice except for the pooring rain. The restaurant has a fantastic view over the lake Orlången and we were hoping for a nice walk after lunch but the weather didn’t allow us.

Now an afternoon in my corner enjoying the Olympics on tv. Two days – two silver medals so far!

Mello – 2

The competition continuous – at our place this time. The 8 songs tonight were pretty tight.

Straight to finale: Sanna Nielsen and Panetoz
Second chance: JEM and Martin Stenmark
