Best dinner this time of year – when the Christmas ham is ready for the first tasting! Yum! Turned out really good – served with mash and veggies and a glas of “must” (sort of a Christmas root beer).
Midweek already and two more days to go before my time off. The next couple of days I’m the only admin at work so I’d better stay well and focused. Had a bit of a headache today but hopefully it’s just stress and nothing serious. Now I’m tucked in my corner waiting for the evening tea to get ready.

Long busy day and everyone is getting ready to wrap up for the holidays and want to get tons of things done before the year end.
We got our Xmas-presents today at work – the yearly pocket-book and some goodies. I got the latest Johan Theorin-book – perfect! I haven’t either read it or bought it yet so it was a great gift. They know me so well. Everyone gets a book each selected for that person. A very thoughtful gift someone has put a lot of effort in getting right.
Back among all the people again. The newspapers are filled with new horror reports about all the different kinds of flu that are going around right now. Besides covid there is the RS-virus and this years edition of the flu to stay clear of. I’m glad I took the flu shot a few weeks back. The hospitals are getting all full with flu-sick people again. Today the newspapers are warning people to leave their homes due to extremely slippery icy roads too. People getting fractures and the hospitals are not able to take care of everyone due to the increase of patients sick with one of the flus.
Fingers crossed we will be able to stay healthy thru the winter. Four more days commuting this week – then I’m off.
A very nice Sunday with no obligations or have-to’s. I’ve spent a lot of hours in my corner watching tv and practicing on my Spanish in Duolingo.
This afternoon the finale of the world cup was played with the two gigants Argentina vs. the current champions France. I’m cheering on Argentina – would love for Messi to complete his fenomenal career with a world cup gold. The game went to an even full time score 2-2. In the extra time part Argentina made the first goal. And then France also made one. Penalty shots. Puh. First out two # 10 – Mpappe and Messi. Both scored. Followed by 2 mistakes from France and 2 scores from Argentina. Puh. Then one score each and Argentina WON with 4-2 in penalty shots. Yeah!
Getting ready for Xmas! Tomorrow it is Advent 4th so we decided to buy the Xmas-tree today. Now the living room smells lovely from the fresh fir tree and a holiday feeling is starting to grow.
Now I’ve crashed in my corner for a bit watching the bronze-game in the world cup. Croatia vs. Morocco.
Feel pretty ready for Xmas now. My hubby has started his time off already but I’m working all week next week. Our youngest still has a couple of classes before the holidays too.
Still freezing outside and still buses that don’t show up. Finally Friday and weekend ahead to enjoy. The forecast promises warmer weather and even rain next week so a white Xmas might not happen.
So nice to return back home after a long day at work and see this pretty doorway welcoming me. Home!
For the second day in a row it was freezing cold this morning with -15C. Brrrr. And of course several buses were cancelled due to various reasons. And when they pull every other bus off the route – then the buses that do run are overfilled and late. One must love the winter and all the obstacles that come with it.
Picked up grilled chicken on the way home and served it with rice. Perfect lazy dinner on a long Thursday. One more day this week – then a busy weekend ahead with a lot fun things to do. Buy and dress a X-mas tree for instance.
Midweek already and my short day. Had lunch with a colleague before I went home – so nice with company having lunch for a change! We went to a restaurant in the Mood Mall and the food was great. “Wallenbergare” with mash and trimmings. Yum.
It’s been snowing off and on all day and it is almost -10C outside. Brrr. The forecast promises rain and warmer weather next week. Not sure that is to be preferred. Lol.
Argentina won last night. Tonight France is facing Morocco and the winner will meet Argentina in the finale. Soon this championship will be over – a hectic month is coming to an end.
Love the morning of Lucia when you can watch and listen to the traditional choruses song on TV by a choir all dressed up. Memories memories from my childhood and many events like this that my choir has been a part of.
We had a feast at work enjoying all kinds of saffron buns and ginger bread cookies. Cheered in some non-alcoholic moulded wine – glögg – served warm with raisins and almonds. Mmm.
Now tucked in my corner not knowing which team to cheer on in the first semi finals of the world cup in soccer – Argentina or Croatia. Should chose the European team but it would be great if Messi / Argentina could reach the finale. Tomorrow France is facing Morocco.
New week and very cold weather and more snow in the forecast. Brrr.
Texted with my American mom this afternoon. She sent me a photo of their tree and Swedish ornaments she puts up every year. So nice that we are able to chat every now and then – miss them so much and I feel a bit “homesick” to be honest. Would love to visit and they would love for me to come over too. I would really like that but I don’t know when I will be able to make it happen. Hopefully soon.
