No morning swim today. Felt a bit sad to be honest. I hope the other ones could enjoy the ocean.

On the other hand I allowed myself a sleep-in and actually managed to go back to sleep for a bit after the alarm went off at 06.30. My husband and brother-in-law went into town really early to participate in another 10K-run STHLM Urban Trail together.

I’ve spent the day doing this and that – changed sheets in our bed and washed the old ones, worked with back-ups on my computers, updated my LinkedIn account with courses I’ve taken thru the years. It’s been raining off and on all day and now it’s pouring down again. The spa doesn’t feel so appealing tonight – let’s hope for tomorrow.

Followed our team on-line tonight instead of live like last Sunday. This time we were the home-team and won 2-1 towards Helsingborg. Yeah! Forza!

A wonderful summer spend with family and friends. Relaxing, gaining energy, eating good food, wonderful friends and family visiting. Good weather for the most part – not too hot either (last summer was awful). Been able to go down to the ocean for a quick dip before breakfast every day in our paradise. Yesterday we enjoyed a glass of bubble in the afternoon – a cheers for the summer.

Today it’s been raining a lot – basically non-stop for the first 300 km of our drive. Then it stopped for a while but around dinner time when we had arrived home it started again. And the prognosis doesn’t promise good weather for a while. We picked up some thai food for dinner and now we’ve crashed in our sofa watching the team championships in track&field on TV.

Last day to enjoy and what a lovely day! Sunshine and 22C in the ocean. After breakfast me and my mother went up to Löttorp to  get some groceries. We had a nice ride up there and chat and I found some bits and pieces to bring back home too. Perfect.

After lunch we’ve just been lazy and stayed in the sun. I’ve loved my hammock this summer – spent a lot of hours in it just being lazy regaining energy. It’s been a good vacation and great weather. Lot’s of dear friends visiting. But also time to enjoy being here together as a family – I am feeling so very grateful and humble for what we have and that we are able to be here – all of us at the same time. Now we have one last bbq tonight before it is time for the last dip in the ocean and then we will head back to the city after breakfast. Me, my youngest and my brother-in-law. The rest of them will remain here for a while longer.

A lovely day with sunshine and lots of wind so I could wash our bathrobes and towels and manage to get them dry pretty quickly. Perfect. Nice to have everything cleaned and ready for next season.

Tonight we went into town for the traditional spareribs-dinner at Pappa Blå. This year I decided to try them too and they were really delicious. I’m sure I will choose them next time too.

Midweek. And the forecast promised sun. So I decided to clean the last parts of the house and also change the bedsheets for the boys. My sister and brother-in-law went into town to get some window moulding to do the last finishing touches on their new window.

It was 21 C in the ocean today – so nice. Usually we only go down there in the morning but today we went for a swim in the afternoon too.

My sister and I have made these ghosts out of concrete dipped in towels – she is so clever doing these art-things! I can’t take any credit but it was fun to do one! Mine is the second one from the right. It will be fun to see what they look like once they have dried.

Tonight we had a Greek feast with the wine and ouzo we brought back from Rhodes. My uncle came along too. We made skewers with chicken and pork, our own tzatziki, garlic bread and Greek sallad served with rice and French fries. Lovely!

What a day! Very sunny morning – we decided run some laundry and I took down the curtains in my bedroom and washed them too. And while I was at it I washed the windows too. Or at least the ones that open – skipped the two ones in the living room.

Special dinner treat with “isterband” – a smoked pork sausage – served with stewed potatoes. Mm. While we sat there we suddenly saw a tromb appear over the horizon! Amazing. It was quite spectacular to watch. Then we received a heavy rainfall with thunder and lightning (one went down right in front of us a few hundred yards away). And now the sun is shining again and we might have a sunset to be dazzled by in an hour. One more day in our paradise.

Last week of my summer vacation has begun. Feels a bit sad to be honest. I need to focus on living here and now and not flip over to a waiting mode. Enjoy each moment for itself.

After lunch us girls went into Borgholm for some shopping and errands. I found a long dress that I liked which was on sale (-30%) so that was good. We also picked up some fresh flounders and my mom made the most delicious dinner. Mmm. I love flounders served with new potatoes.

It’s been a sunny day but quite windy in the afternoon. Might need to take the flag down tonight. Tomorrow it might rain, but the forecast has been wrong before. So far we’ve had very little rain this summer.

Sunday and game-day. We bought tickets on-line and drove down to Kalmar after lunch to cheer on our team who faced Kalmar today. The traffic was just horrific and we missed the first 15 min. It took over 2hrs instead of a little less than 1hr.

We started out pretty good and was in a 2-0 lead but fell thru and ended up with an even 2-2 and only one point secured instead of 3. Oh well.

When we got back my sister waited with a lovely pasta dinner and we could sit down to a set table and enjoy. Now we have crashed in the couch eating a fruit salad and home made cinnamon buns before it is time to hug our pillows. Third week off has come to an end. One more week to go.

Today my hubby took the bus back to the city. He has to get back to work again on Monday while I have one more week off before it’s my turn. So, me and the boys stayed behind.

A quite sunny day invited to a game of “kubb” after lunch. A good way to lure the youngsters out in the sun for a bit. We could sit outside for dinner tonight and enjoy the bbq of various pork and also all the new potatoes we could find in the patch (enough for one dinner.. ). They were delicious!

Now I’m tucked in bed by myself for the first time in ages. And for a whole week too. Good night, hubby, sweet dreams!

A very sunny Friday – finally some good weather again! Grandpa raised the Swedish flag since we celebrate Karin today – names day – so two family members to greet! This day is celebrated with ice cream so after lunch we went up to Sandvik for a treat.

Tonight my parents are away at a Doug Seegers-concert in Kalvhagen, Södvik. I hope they have a good time there. They will call us when they need to be picked up again – no sense in driving themselves since the concert is only 10 min away.
