Thursday

The week is almost over. Been doing invoices all day in a slow pace – had to run some errands for work so I ended up over 10.000 steps today too. My right hip is now giving me some grief – maybe I’ve walked too much lately.

Made pasta bolognese for dinner since my oldest is not home tonight. Nice change to all the salad I’ve had since we came back from Greece – lol. But, I’ve managed to drop back to the same weight as before we left – yeah. Now I need to continue for a bit. That would be nice. But I’m not holding my breath.

Birthday dinner

A small set back going to work with cancelled commuter trains and no information about it. But, it was a nice morning so I didn’t really mind waiting. And I made it in time for work.

When I got home I had some time to organize a few things before my friend came and picked me up and we walked to the Casa del Lago restaurant for her birthday dinner. It takes about 30 min to walk there so we had a nice chat and catch-up. And a lovely dinner with more chatting before it was time to walk back home again.

After a little over 18000 steps in total for the day I was definitely ready for bed!

Smell the roses

Our four rose-bushes we got last year are really making me happy. They bloom off and on all summer – right now it is this light pink one which is in full bloom. The white and purple ones are ready for their second round and the yellow one is about to bloom for the first round. We need to buy some sort of support though – this one is almost falling over with the heavy flowers on top.

The weather has not been great today with wind, quite chilly and raining a couple of times. Not heavily but enough to not be pleasant. And the subway is being repaired to I take the commuter train right now. Three more days – then I’m out of the city.

Dinner

Back to work after our holiday and one week to go before the longer vacation break. It was good to be back and I had a quite productive short first day. On my way home I managed to pick up a few things (birthday present and also a new bikini for me to replace the one I will throw away).

Tonight we have had friends over for a bbq dinner. We’ve been trying to find a date all semester but with both families being very busy it’s been hard to find something. But, finally we got together and had a lovely evening. They had their youngest with them and us girls enjoyed the spa for a bit before they left to go home. Lovely evening and I hope we can get together more frequently like we used to before family life happened.

Movie night

One day left of the time off and we spent it cleaning, doing laundry, going thru mails and buying groceries. Then we rewarded ourselves after a hard days work with a movie night and dinner at Heron City. My youngest niece came along too. We love our superheroes and the hero of tonight was Spider-Man. We all enjoyed it very much. I wonder what the next Marvel Production will be about.

I watched the first period of the soccer final before we left and then followed the game via my phone. US won over the Netherlands 2-0 and finished playing just as the movie started. Congratulations to a tournament well played! And I am so excited about our bronze from yesterday too! Go ladies!

Back home

A long day traveling back to Sweden. Everything went well and we arrived back home safely in time for the bronze-game. Our ladies managed to defeat the Brittish ladies 2-1 after a thrilling game. We had picked up some thai take-away dinner and we ate in front of the TV and watched the game while we ate. Great job, ladies! Too bad you didn’t make it to the finale but third place is amazing too!

Managed to run some laundry and sort some stuff too. Now it’s time to hug my own pillow and sleep in my very much softer bed for the first time in a week. And still one more day off before it’s time to go back to work and the real world again. Lovely.

Friday already

The week went by way too quickly and before we knew it the last evening arrived. We made reservations at the a-la-carte restaurant which was also included in the all-inclusive reservation.

A wonderful week together – I am so grateful we could share this trip together. Rhodes was treating us sun and 28-30C all week and it was just what we needed. Haven’t been here since our honeymoon back in 1995 – I wonder when we’ll be back next time.

Waterpark

Thursday already. We went to the Waterpark in Faliraki for the day. All of us, except M who stayed at the hotel. The park was fun and we all enjoyed the time there – some of us daring to do the most scary rides while some of us just enjoyed the sun and the least scary rides. We ended up spending the entire day there and arrived back to the hotel in time for dinner. A fun day in the sun!

Semi

A day by the pool being lazy. Catching some sun. We decided to go back to the city for some shopping before dinner – just me, my sis and the girls – and then the others met up with us a few hours later.

We had dinner in the new part of the town this time and found a little jewel in an alley. The food was ok but the surrounding and hospitality was perfect. After dinner we took taxis back to the hotel to cheer on our ladies playing the semi finals towards the Netherlands. Unfortunately they lost the game which was played on overtime after a tie after full time.

Beach day

We decided to change the pool for the beach and walked the quite long way down after breakfast. The hotel also offered a transfer service down to the beach and back to the hotel for those who didn’t want to walk.

We found beach chairs under umbrellas and rented them for the day. The water was truly amazing – crystal clear – but it was quite tricky to get in and out and the beach was really hot to walk on. We went back to the hotel for lunch and afterwards a few of us walked back to the beach for some more time down there while some of us remained by the hotel. A perfect day.

In the evening we went to a different restaurant in the hotel which required a dressier look. The food was a bit different from the usual restaurant and it was a nice change.
