This little fellow was sitting outside our front door as we arrived back home from work. Haven’t seen many bumblebees this year and this one looked kind of tired too.
Long day and no energy to fix dinner so we went to get some burgers. Lazy, I know. As long as it doesn’t happen every day, right?
My youngest is away with some friends tonight so we were only three home for dinner. Tomorrow we will be only two.
Back to reality
Back to work again and the day went by without any problems. It was nice to see everybody again!
I didn’t have to stay that late today which was great. Got home with time to do some laundry, pick up 300 apples (or so – lol) and get dinner on the table in time.
Now I’m tucked in my corner watching Hammarby play soccer towards Örebro. Fingers crossed they will manage to bring three points from the game. Would be nice. My dad is at the arena cheering in person. Fun for him!
Movie time!
A perfect ending of a close to perfect vacation. Movie time with my mother, sister and oldest niece (my youngest niece had already seen this movie). And what better movie for us girls than “Mamma Mia – Here we go again”. It was really good! A lot of my favorite songs were in it – not the most popular ABBA-songs but songs with depth and a beautiful message. So – a lot of laughter and some tears later we were all happy with the choice of film, I think.
Tomorrow I’m going back to work again and my youngest goes back to school. His last year and his turn to graduate next summer. My oldest has another week off before his school starts. Fall – here we come!
Midnattsloppet
Time for the yearly running event – Midnattsloppet. My husband has participated about 20 times or so. I wonder if Hammarby can help us count? (hint hint – mom/dad?)
Anyway, he managed to finish in 48.55, which he was very happy with. Unfortunately my brother-in-law injured a muscle in his leg with about 1k left, but managed to walk across the finish-line. I hope it’s nothing serious! He still got a good result so without the injury he would have set a new personal record, I’m sure.
This race was not part of the Sthlm Challenge – that competition has one more part in mid October. Next week my husband will participate in another race though – Stafesten (former Bellmanstafetten) which is a relay and he will run with his co-workers.
Last day
Last day of vacation. But I feel ok. It’s been a good day. Spent some time in my hammock enjoying the sun. Then I went to the mall and found two pairs of shoes on sale that I have wanted to buy for a while. Yeah! Picked up some grilled chicken for lunch and also bought groceries for dinner tonight. This afternoon the sun disappeared and it got quite windy and grey outside. So a few lazy hours in front of “Orange is the new black”. Why didn’t I watch it sooner?
Our garden is still in bloom and our new rose-bushes out front are doing great! Just one in the back is struggling a bit and coming along somewhat slower than the others. But, it’s hanging in there and I’m sure it will be amazing too.
Errands
This morning I had to work for a bit too. Just some phone calls and work mail to go through, but it took me longer than I expected.
Then later I took my oldest to the police station to apply for a new passport and after that we went to re-new his bus card and picked up a few things at the pharmacy.
I also went to get some groceries and made hamburgers with mashed potatoes for dinner. Not a very hectic day but quite productive. Talked to the insurance company. Book a doctors-appointment for my youngest. Made a reservation for dinner for our boat trip. A few more things to tick off my to-do-list.
Family back
Treated myself an American breakfast today. So yummy! And the best part is that I have leftovers for tomorrow (unless someone beats me to them.. lol).
Another slow day. Took a short walk but haven’t done much besides that. My sister drove back from our paradise this morning together with our youngest ones and arrived safely in time for dinner. We picked up some Thai food, which we haven’t had all summer. Spicy!
Now a quiet evening catching up on some series.
Being lazy
Had a thought about going into town today, but decided not to. Instead I have been lazy and started to watch a new series. Well, not new, but new to me. “Orange is the new Black”. So far so good.
It looks like it is about to rain any minute so I’m glad I skipped going into town. It’s windy and not very nice outside right now. Feels like fall is getting closer. The elder tree flowers are gone and the berries are getting darker and darker. Soon ready to be picked – I have made marmalade out of them a few times. Not sure I will this year though.
Last week
Last week of this summer vacation and I am so grateful for these last couple of weeks. Spent time in our paradise with the people I love. In amazing weather and warm ocean. Sunsets almost every night.
Now I’m back home again and have swapped my hanging chair with ocean view for my hammock in our garden. It’s ok. Life is still good. Book is still good. Actually my third one this summer. Or fourth depending on how to count. Nice to be able to catch up on some reading. It’s been a while since I was in the mood.
Tonight we invited my niece and brother-in-law over for dinner. It is getting a bit chilly outside but it was sunny so we sat out back. After dinner we had coffee and enjoyed the carrot cake cupcakes my niece had made. Yum!
Race 3 – STHLM Urban Trail
One of the reasons we had to leave our paradise.. Time for the third run in the Sthlm Challenge Package. This time they started on Djurgården and ran through both museums and stores before they finished in Galärparken. They ran together and didn’t exhaust themselves this time since they have a more important competition next weekend – Midnattsloppet. They managed to finish before the rainfall and arrived back home before lunch. Good job!
