Friday again

What a week. Now I am enjoying a well deserved glass of red in my pretty glass form Sterling Vineyards. The photo brings back fond memories from our trip – it was a great week and I am so glad we were able to go!

Tonight it is very unpleasant weather outside – grey sky, very windy and it looks like a storm is coming along. I’m glad I don’t have to go anywhere tonight. We are enjoying some recorded series we were not able to see last week. First out is “Victoria”.

Movie time

Yesterday it was premier of the new Despicable Me 3 movie but we didn’t have time to go then. But, today we did so me and my sister took our youngests to dinner in Heron City and the minion movie after. We all liked it and we managed to embarrass the kids by enjoying it a bit too much (we laugh when it’s funny, k.. lol). But, out of the three movies I think I liked this one the least. We had a great evening together – just the four of us. Exactly what I needed after a stressful day at the office.

Midweek

Brough the cool bag with me to work today prepared with a thermometer and two icepacks to see if it would hold the cool environment for a long time. It did. Perfect. On my way home I went to pick up the medicine that needs to be kept cool and now I know it will survive a long trip in the cool bag.

Also stopped in our store to collect a parcel that was delivered there instead of being delivered to our paradise where my parents are and have transfered their mail to. After a bit of persuasion they let me have the package. Yeah!

I have bottled my newly made lemonade today – 5 days in the fridge and now it’s done! Time to enjoy!

Tuesday treat

What a good day – and with a perfect ending! My BFFs office moved so we are not able to see each other for lunch as easily so we decided to meet up for dinner instead. We thought we’d go to a lovely Italian place near by Zinkensdamm called “Pane Vino” – so we did. We had pizza – mine covered with goodies from the sea – and a glas of red or two. And a long nice chat! After dinner we strolled over towards the commuter train and stopped at a pub hoping to get a coffee – but their coffee machine was broken so we sat down and had a beer instead. Now I am back in my corner enjoying my coffee at home instead and catching up on some series I have recorded.

Summer hours

Between midsummer and August 31st our office closes one hour earlier every day. So this morning I programmed our switchboard with the summer hours.

My new UP2 arrived today – but I am having a bit of a struggle to pair it with the app. It is supposed to light up in blue-white-red but only the red light is turned on. Some parts of it is working – it logged my walk tonight – but I can’t connect it with my reminders. Hmm. Fingers crossed it will work anyway.

Birthday celebrations

Today it is my father-in-laws turn to have his birthday so we went to our second paradise for a day of celebrations with them. First we had coffee when we arrived – I had made a jar of home-made strawberry jam for him and we also brought two bottles of the blue wine that is so popular right now. Then we enjoyed a lovely lunch outside in the sun. During the afternoon it got a bit cloudy and windy and we also received some rain, but is stopped almost immediately. We took a nice 2k-walk after the afternoon coffee and cake to make some room for the dinner. What a great day! Happy birthday, dad!

Midsommardagen

A quiet rainy day.. went out for a quick errand – other than that I made a batch of lemonade with elder tree flowers and lemons. Now we just have to wait 3-5 days then it’ll be ready to be bottled. Now time for an early night since it got a bit late last night. I’ve done 4 loads of dishes today.. but we had fun! Lol

Midsommarafton

What a glorious day! Last year it was raining cats and dogs. The worst weather in years. This year it was sunny and warm and some of us even got a bit too much sun! We all met up in Gladö and this years edition of the pentathlon was fun, challenging but perfectly doable for all participants. My family actually won two of the games! And ended up second! Wow! I’m proud.

We hosted the evening dinner. This year one family and a couple of the youngsters couldn’t make it but 18 of us spent midsummer eve here. One family brought an extra grill and my sister a few chairs. We were able to sit outside through dinner but then it got a bit too chilly so we went inside and divided ourselves in 4 teams and played Master of the Movies all evening. Thank you for a great Midsummer!

Lunch treat

There was a piece of “smörgåstårta” left from last night so I brought it with me to work and treated two of my colleagues lunch. I think they liked it – at least they said so and their plates were finished. Yeah! I am such a sucker for this dish – I could eat it every day of the week. But, my body wouldn’t appreciate it as much. Lol.

Since I have had quite a bit of over-time this week and it got very quiet this afternoon I got off early and did some errands instead. Perfect. We will have the whole gang over tomorrow for midsummer dinner so we have a few things on our to-do list still to prepare. A trip to the grocery store before dinner and now a well deserved drink to celebrate the long weekend. Cheers!

Pyssel hos K – 21 jun 2017
