Another week of work. Time to gather some more energy and get on with it. On my way home the clouds crowded up together and covered the sky. It was really warm too so I guess thunder is on it’s way.
Stopped by my parents house to see to it and then I walked back to ours afterwards. Managed to get home before it started to rain. Yeah!
Went to a new restaurant for dinner since my husband is renovating our kitchen. We have had dinner at this place several times but now it was no longer a local pizzeria but instead a fancy restaurant which was not what we expected. But since we were there we stayed – and dinner was great.

Not so great weather to start the day
so no swim before breakfast today. But by the time of the 11-o’clock coffee it had cleared up and the rest of the day was fantastic.
We could enjoy another day in sunshine and time by the sea. What a great weekend! Lovely! We are really spoiled to have such a fantastic place to enjoy.
And as icing on the cake .. Michel Torneus managed to break the Swedish record in long-jump – 8.44 (new record by 22 cm) and thereby qualified to the Olympics. YEAH! I congratulated him on his success!
Lördagsmys
Saturday morning in bright sunshine! Started the day with a dip in the ocean before breakfast. Then we got busy for a couple of hours and helped out with different things that needed to be done. Then coffee by the seaside and and some time in the sun.
Around dinner time it started to thunder and the sky opened up and the rain poured down for hours. It stopped for a while during dinner so we could sit in the glas-house – if it is raining that hard it is difficult to sit out there because you can’t hear what anyone is saying. Another great day to an end.

Friday finally. Sushi for lunch. Mm. After work we packed our bags and picked up my brother-in-law and we
nt out to our second paradise for the weekend.
It was a great evening – it is so pretty out there and the weather was really good. We had a nice dinner together and sat chatting for hours before it was time to go to bed. Let the weekend begin!
Pizza
Last night we visited my BFF in their new house they just moved
into last week. And today we had lunch together! That doesn’t happen a lot – that we see each other two days in a row. Yeah. But now it will be a while until next time. For the first time in years she will not visit us in our paradise so next time I will see her will be after the fall semester has started again. Not so far away as you might think, unfortunately.
We went grocery shopping when I came back from work and now we are relaxing in front of the tv watching the European Championships in Track & Field. Cheering on our long-jumper!
Create another kind of paradise
Since I am not able to be in our paradise just now I try to create another kind of paradise. The luxury of bei
ng able to go out for breakfast for instance (even when the real reason is that our housekeeper hasn’t done his/her job and made sure we have something to eat at home.. lol). It was as nice way to start the day – a coffee and a french roll with cheese.
Took a walk back from the subway – it’s very warm and sunny today but almost feels like it is going to thunder. A lot of dark clouds in the sky but no rain yet. It is raining in paradise today I heard – maybe it is on it’s way here.
Tuesday
It is so quiet at home now when the boys are not here. I hope they are having a great time in our paradise and don’t give me a second thought. Lol.
Our red currents are already ripen and ready to be picked. I can’t remember them being ready this early before. Usually we pick them in August when we get back from our vacation.
Lazy evening in my corner tonight – getting ready to watch another episode of “Allsång på Skansen” and “Midsumer Murders”. Maybe I will allow myself a glass of rosé..

Monday. Kids left with their grandpar
ents to go down to our paradise a couple of weeks ahead of us. Is this the more accurate description of “maternity leave”? Leave of being a mom. Or at least temporarily given the responsibility to someone else.
Today it is the 4th of July and three years ago we celebrated the day with my American family. It was so much fun to be part of their celebrations. We have a lot to learn on how to make our national day more festive and fun. Happy 4th everyone!
Day to pack
Why can’t I ever learn how to sleep in ? I wake up early when I don’t have to and don’t want to wake up when I do have to.
Anyway. Since I’m already up I might as well get busy, so one load of laundry is already on it’s way and I will have time for another couple of machines before the day is over.
Tomorrow my boys are going to our paradise together with their grandparents to be there for a couple of weeks ahead of us. I am so glad they are able to spend so much time with their grandparents – that they want to and that their grandparents want to also. I had a very special bond with my grandmother and it meant the world to me.
So, today is all about packing and getting organized. What clothes to bring is the least of the problems.
Confirmation
Time for a special day in our family –
my youngest niece’s confirmation. She did great – performed all her assigned tasks beautifully and we were so proud of her. She has been away on a 2-week hike with the group up north to prepare and have some fun. Me and my husband are her God parents so we also took part of the ceremony in church for her blessing.
I had bought her a Norwegian enamel heart with the Lord’s prayer on the back in tiny tiny letters. I was given one when I was born and I have found one exactly like mine on an auction for her. Our hearts prayers are in Norwegian and the front has pink flowers and the one I found for her sister is in English with blue flowers.
Three big events for our teenagers lately – one getting accepted to the next level of school, one graduation and one confirmation. Next important event is to get the graduate into college. Then we have another graduation coming up in 2 years.
