A long lazy day with great weather. Sat outside for a bit and enjoyed a cup of coffee. The first one this year. Outside in our backyard, that is.
The butter rolls from yesterday turned out great. Mmmm. And the handball tournament is still on – we need to win or play even or loose with no more than 2 points towards Spain. That will give us the ticket to the Olympics we would love to have. Our soccer team Hammarby took a sweet victory today and won 5-1 towards Helsingborg. Amazing.
College Entrance Examinations
My oldest son has spent 8 hours today taking the college entrance examinations. He took the test last fall and wanted to give it another go to see if he could do better and get a higher score to increase his chances to get into college. He came back with a smile on his face. “Proud mom”
I have been a really busy ? today and cleaned almost the whole house, worked outside with the garden and baked three different kinds of buns and rolls. Puh. I have really earned my corner time tonight. And more handball to enjoy with Sweden facing Slovenia in the qualification rounds for the Olympics. Fingers crossed.
Friday again
I received a sad message this morning about how cruel life can be and how quickly it can end without a warning. Let your loved ones know you love them – appreciate life and don’t take things for granted.
Allow yourself time to reflect and breathe for a minute. Light a candle.
No great news yet from the doctors either. Awaiting test results before the can make a decision. Let’s enjoy the time off this weekend – eat good food – gather energy and get ready for next weeks challenges.
Directions
This map felt kind of symbolic. A wise man once said that if you don’t know where you want to go – how will you know what path to chose? Then you just end up wandering with no goal to focus on. Sometimes you need to stop and think – figure out where you are and where you want to go so you can chose the best way to get there. Tonight I contacted an old friend who is very good at pointing out directions when you feel a bit lost. Friends like that are hard to find and I feel extremely fortunate to have someone like that in my life.
Owls
I was still tired this morning from yesterday. I think I might be coming down with something – I feel a bit dizzy and feverish but I am trying to ignore it because I don’t have time to be sick right now. Stupid – I know.
Busy day today but I got a lot done. Continued to be a busy bee when I got home and went grocery shopping and also treated myself some fabric with an owl-print on that I fell in love with a while back. It is now covering my kitchen couch and it looks great! Yeah! Made me smile.
Rain rain ..
No sunshine this morning – it was raining and not very nice to be outside at all. I had to leave early since I have to open our switchboard this week. Long day at work today and even though I didn’t leave work until 6.30 PM it was still light outside. Nice. No rain either.
I had passed my 10.000 steps goal before I got home so I decided to take the bus the last bit. I’m beat.
Back in business
First day back at work after the week off. It went quite well and kept me pretty busy until it was time to head home. I stopped by a fairly new coffee shop for a sandwich and a latte – it was ok but not great. I wanted to try it and now I have.
I also went by the pharmacy to pick up my youngest new medication and realized on the way home that they had given me the wrong kind. After some calls it turned out that it was the doctor who had prescribed the wrong medicine. Oh well. Now I just need to find the time to go the pharmacy – again.
Managed to reach my 10.000 steps goal on the walk back from the subway. Yeah!
Back in town
It is nice to have that extra day at home before it is time to get back to work/ school. Not the best weather today though so I haven’t really been outside that much. Just for a bit to start getting the garden ready for spring. Not many flowers yet – spring had come a bit further on Öland.
Now we have a busy spring ahead with a lot of activities before it is time to drive back down to our paradise. I just hope we all will be ok and able to enjoy and get through all our plans with a smile. Have a great Sunday everyone!
470 km
After a last breakfast in our paradise this visit it was time to tick off all the chores on our to-do list and then pack the cars and head back to the city. The sunset from last night was a real treat and something to hang on to for a bit.
The drive home was ok – hardly any traffic at all and no rain. We left our paradise at 10 am and parked outside our house at 16.15. Perfect. One laundry done, dinner completed, shower and now some corner time to relax. Have a great Saturday!
Friday
Everything comes to an end and so did this wonderful week. This morning we saw my parents off to visit friends in Västergötland – a 5 hr drive west from Öland. They were invited to attend a big birthday party. Before we even woke up this morning my uncle left with a couple of his friends to go bird watching on the south part of Öland for a few days. Then before lunch my aunt, cousin and his kids left to go back to Stockholm. So by lunchtime it was only me, my sister and our four kids left here in paradise. For the very first time. Strange feeling.
We went into Borgholm for some shopping, strolling around, coffee and then we ended the afternoon buying the groceries for dinner. Stopped by the camel farm on the way back to see the camels. Then we have packed, gotten organized to leave, cleaning and tidying up. We have played boardgames and watched another episode of Let’s Dance. Now it is time to tuck everybody in and try to get some sleep – we have a long drive back to town tomorrow. And paradise treated us another sunset to remember. Thank you.
