Today we decided to do something we haven’t done before – we went on a ride with the SkyView – an elevator on the outside of the Ericsson Globe. Since it was such a beautiful day it was just perfect for this activity.
The tour only took like 20 min and started with a short movie about the area and the ride. Information, facts and some safety regulations. Interesting!
I am pretty scared of heights but I was actually fine in this ball of glas. The view was spectacular – you could see the whole city from above and the surroundings south from the city too. This was just the perfect experience and I am sure I will go there again!
Garden work
Saturday morning and the garden is covered with frost. It is so pretty. And cold. Time to get ready and go out there. We have rented a trailer for the day to get rid of all the branches and
sticks from the hedge and trees that my husband has cut the last couple of weekends. The pile is quite impressive but will ruin the grass if we leave it over the winter.Oh – and we won the soccer game last night. Next challenge on Monday. Need to win that one too.
Fredagsmys-time
Friday came this week too. I thought I deserved a coffee on my way to work so I picked up one from Wayne’s. Trying to decide which coffee place that is my favorite – their coffees are all quite different. Just a coffee to-go I probably prefer Wayne’s or Starbucks. But to sit down for a bit with breakfast or lunch I think my favorite is EspressoHouse. I love the way they have decorated all their shops with old furniture which gives it a homie feeling. Then we have a whole bunch of other places but these three are the ones I usually go to.
Time to get tucked in my corner and enjoy some fredagsmys – both soccer and Idol to choose between. Will probably jump in-between the two. Have a great weekend everyone!
Lunch date
Thursday and lunch date with my BFF – and what better place to meet than at the pizza place? And look – I have veggies on the plate too! And drank soda water.
Took a walk back from the subway since I missed the bus.. some exercise won’t kill me, I guess.
Decided to stop by the newly opened grocery store across the street from our house and I was happily surprised to see that we now have a fully working store with everything we need. Fresh and clean with nice staff and a fun selection of both already-made-food to fresh meat. Wow. What a difference!
Oct 7th
20 years ago today me and my hubby said “I do” in Enskede Kyrka. Can’t believe it’s been that long – but looking at our boys it is easier to understand. They are not kids anymore – one is already an adult and the other one not far behind.
Me and my mom had a great afternoon catching up. They just came back from a vacation week to Albania – a very interesting country to visit, I’m sure. Looking forward to seeing the photos!
My husband surprised me with a fantastic bouquet of flowers. In return he got a box of handmade chocolates.
Frost
This morning it was below 0C (32F) for the first time this fall. The windows on the car were all covered with ice. The sky was beautiful and the trees have started to absolutely glow with gorgeous colors. My favorite time of year.
Long day at work and quite a busy day today. Exhausted and tucked in my corner for a bit before it is time to hug the pillow.
Week 41
Sometimes it is hard to gather your thoughts and write something interesting. Ideas anyone?
I’m feeling a bit restless. Need to get going – set a goal to strive for. Can’t wait for our upcoming trip but also feel a bit anxious about how many things that have to be in place and done before we leave. It would be easier if I could take charge but some things are out of my control. One step at a time. Breathe in – breathe out.
A national theme day
This morning I was tucked in my corner watching the rain getting closer. The sky was grey and it was a bit windy outside. Didn’t feel like leaving my couch all day to be honest. I did good yesterday with all the housework, baking and grocery shopping. So I don’t have to do anything more today other than enjoying the last day of the weekend and relax.
It is October 4th and we have a special day in Sweden – it is a national theme day – Cinnamon Bun day.
We Swedes love our “fika” – coffee w/ a cinnamon bun. Or two.
Now after lunch the sun is shining again and it feels like summer outside. A hotpot is cooking on the stove – I love those dinners that kind of cook themselves. Maybe time to enjoy that afternoon “fika” and one of those buns. Or two.
Weekend again
What a day. It’s like summer outside. My husband has spent the day climbing around our apple trees to cut off some of the branches that are too high. I made an apple cake (but not with our own apples – they are not ready yet) which was a nice treat in the afternoon when taking a break.
A busy day for me – vacuumed, dusted, changed all the beds and washed the bed sheets, grocery shopping and tidying up. Now I really deserve that piece of chocolate that someone put in my shoppingbag.. 😉 And a coffee!
Special day
Friday. For once this week has gone by really quickly. I have been so tired but also able to sleep quite well during the nights. And now a whole weekend to relax. Lovely. I need to regain energy.
Last night driving back from the theatre we passed the City Hall and it was really pretty. I like it when they put spotlights on buildings.
An evening in my corner to look forward to. Have a great Friday everyone!
