Another day spent at our Olympic Stadium in Stockholm cheering on our team. And what a thrilling day it was – we didn’t know who won until the very last event. Hua. So glad we could go and have a fun day together – and no rain today at all!

Bronze and 40 year anniversary
This morning Sweden was facing Australia in the bronze-game in the Women’s World Cup and they played great and won 2-0. Yeah! So well deserved!
We’ve done our chores today and tonight we had a nice pasta dinner together with strawberries for afters.
Tonight my hubby is going to participate in the 10k rum Midnattsloppet which celebrate 40 year anniversary this year. Can’t believe it’s been that long since we first started working on this event. Hubby has participated several times – somewhere around 15 times or so. Fingers crossed he will reach the goal he has set up for himself. I will cheer from home following his way around the track on the live website. Great service! Go hubby!
Mixed feelings
Last night our girls won the silver medal after have been completely ran over by Canada with 10-0. But, still, what an achievement! They have every reason to be proud! We have a great future in these young ladies. And extra fun since the championship was played here in Sweden.
New week – new challenges. Quite a busy day today and even more busy day tomorrow. Had an online meeting this afternoon with my financial advisor going thru what my employer has set up for me and what I have in private insurances and savings. Pretty good to do so every now and then I think. Everything looked good.
First day off
First day off – or – first vacation day anyway. I am off until January 9th now – going to be great! A lazy first day with just a few errands. We watched the first Avatar-movie to be up-to-date for the second movie we are going to see on Friday eve with my sis w/ family.
Legend departed this life
A legend is dead. Börje Salming died today – 71 years old. One of our great ones. Celebrated and honored as recently as a few weeks ago in Toronto. So glad he was able to be there and receive the greetings from a whole world. So well deserved!
We have seen him many times cheering on his daughter Bianca competing in track&fields.
I have also seen him quite often close to my work where his Salming Concept Store is – especially a few years back when the store was new and he was there quite often.
They are making a series about his life – with one of the Skarsgård-brothers (Valter) playing Börje. It is still under production so we will have to wait a while for it though.

Dinner away
A quite chilly Sunday but sunny. My hubby has been busy painting the upstairs windows while I took care of the dishes from last night.
After lunch we took an hour walk to return the dress I had ordered that wasn’t what I had hoped for.
After the second day of Finnkampen we can see that we won all 4 disciplins!
Finland – M 204,5 – W 205,5 – B 95 – G 101
Sweden – M 227,5 – W 225,5 – B 116 – G 108
Maybe I can come along next time the competition takes place in Finland. Would be fun! I have never been to the event there – only in Stockholm. We were invited to my parents-in-law for dinner tonight and my mother-in-law had made a delicious casserole with meat, onions and mushrooms in a green pepper sauce served with crushed potatoes. Apple pie for afters. Yum!
Me-time
Saturday and after breakfast I went to get some me-time and health maintenance with a massage. I have another appointment next month. Perfect.
My hubby cleaned our spa while I was away and after lunch we went to get groceries. All ready to start the fall!
My parents are in Finland over the weekend to cheer on our Swedish team participating in “Finnkampen” – the track&field international contest between our two countries. After the first day ;
Finland – M 112 – W 113 – B 47 – G 55
Sweden – M 137 – W 114 – B 69 – G 61
Fingers crossed we will be able to keep the lead tomorrow and win!Tonight my sis, brother-in-law and youngest niece came over for dinner and jack-box games. We had a lovely time! Great to spend an evening together!
World record
Tonight our golden-boy Armand Duplantis managed to reach his goal of winning the last of the 5 major titles. He is now the gold medalists in both indoor as well as outdoor in the World Championships and European Championships as well as the Olympics. Tonight he also managed to beat his own world record and jumped 6.21m. Wow. At the age of 22. Congratulations! (image borrowed from Svensk Friidrott).
We took a an hour walk after lunch – it’s been a bit windy and cloudy today but quite warm. My oldest went with us so that was nice!
Tonight my mom made a delicious salmon pudding with the salmon leftovers. Yum! So nice when you can make a new dish from the leftovers rather than just heat something up.
After dinner me and my dad watched our team win 3-0 in soccer towards Varberg. We need to keep this winning strike up in order to advance in the league.
Hockey-time
Finally time for some hockey-fun! Sweden plays our first game tomorrow towards Austria. We also have Czech, UK, Finland, USA and Norway in our group. And this year the tournament is played in Finland which means hardly any time difference to relate to.
Tonight we are having a movie night with the boys again – watching the new Marvel-movie “Black Widow”. Nice to spend some time together enjoying something we all like. Make sure to appreciate what you have and cherish the moments you get together.
