Finale-time which takes place at Strawberry Arena in Stockholm. My sister w/ family hosted the evening and since family E had other plans we invited our parents to come along instead. So full house!
Me and our parents spent the afternoon at Avicii Arena for a special handball event. Hammarby plays a regular game in Handbollsligan there instead of in Eriksdalshallen. Fun! Unfortunately we didn’t play very well but managed to get away with an even 35-35 towards Guif. The arena has been thru a major renovation and now they are starting with hosting a series of events. Later this spring the hockey world championships will be held there.

Tonight the Melodifestivalen takes place in Malmö. We decided to not meet up with friends this weekend for various reasons. So, a quiet evening with just the four of us. Our youngest has to work all weekend so it was good timing to make it an early night.
I could enjoy some me-time this afternoon – unfortunately at the same time as our team was playing an important game. I could watch it when I got home though and we won 3-0. We need one more win to qualify to the next level. Three teams have a shot at winning the group so it’s still an open game.

Västerås up next to host the third party of the competition. Tonight we are over at my sister’s house – this time with her husband also there. We were treated a very nice dinner and while the others played boardgames, I got to see some of the hockey-game between Sweden and Finland. We managed to take the game to a tie this time too and unfortunately lost, again, in the over-time. Bummer.
A cold day with some snow. -5C. This afternoon our team played the first game of three in the Svenska Cupen. First out Varberg and we didn’t manage to win, the game ended 1-1. Bummer. Then we have Kalmar FF and Stockholm Internazionale in our group too.

Tonight the show takes place in Gothenburg and we have dinner at my sister’s house – just her and my family since everyone else had other things to do.
The first show was great – the hosts did their job well even though they have received some criticism about being a bit too outspoken. But, I think they were great. Shall be interesting to see how they hold up tonight.
The contestants tonight are a good mix. Fingers crossed the “right” songs go thru.

First out – Luleå! This years hosts are Keyyo and Edvin Törnblom – shall be interesting.
30 acts have been selected to compete in this year’s edition, and we will have five competitions prior to the Grand Final. The two top songs of each semi-final will automatically qualify for the Grand Final. The song on place 3 will go to the “run-off vote” round which will take place at the end of the fifth semi final, and an additional two acts will be given a place in the finale. The one of these five with the highest votes in the bag will automatically go to the final. The other four will be up for one last round of voting and one will go to the final. Complicated – always!
The final will take place at “Strawberry Arena” in Stockholm on the 8th of March.
We started up together with dinner at our house. Eleven of us was able to get together – fun! We had a great time and ended the evening with some boardgames and a lot of laughter.
