Finally – the Eurovision Song Contest finale! Unfortunately we can not watch it together with my sis and our friend w/ our families. Hopefully next year!

This year there is no clear winner – the bookmakers have predicted Italy. I’m not convinced. Have to listen to all the songs again tonight before I’ll know how to vote.

And the contestants are ;

Sweden – Tusse – “Voices” – make us proud!

1. And the winner is: Italy
   Second place: France
   Third place: Switzerland

Sweden: 14

And CE won the challenge price!

Time for the second qualification round in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Tonight we pick the last 10 songs to participate on Saturday. And the contestants are; San Marino, Estonia, Czech Republic, Greece, Austria, Poland, Moldova, Iceland, Serbia, Georgia, Albania, Portugal, Bulgaria, Finland, Latvia, Switzerland and Denmark.

Time for the first qualification round in the Eurovision Song Contest. This year held in Rotterdam – again – since last year was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Tonight we pick the first ten to reach the finale – and the contestants are:

Lithuania, Slovenia, Russia, Sweden, Australia, North Macedonia, Ireland Cyprus, Norway, Croatia, Belgium, Israel, Romania, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Malta.

Go Sweden! Fingers crossed Tusse will make it to the finale!

PS! He made it!

Finale-time! Shall be interesting to see – will the Mamas win for the third year in a row? Hmm.. I think I’ll put my money on Tusse. But I really like Clara’s song too.

Due to the corona pandemic we were not able to see my sister and friend with families in person and have our traditional dinner together, but we will hook up online and get together for a bit. My sister have prepared a fun quiz (you are so very good at creating these Kahoot-quizes) and we will also see who bet the most correct answers in the Mello finale and win this desirable challenge prize.

The hosts this finale are, together with Christer Björkman,  Shima Niavarani and Måns Zelmerlöv and the finale takes place at in Annexet Globen where all the Mello-events have been this year.

Today we gathered the closest family and had a small hotdog lunch and swiss role for afters at my parents to celebrate our dad. It was freezing outside so we were only there for about an hour or so – but so nice that we can see each other for a bit

The song contest has reached the 2nd chance round up. Tonight Shirley Clamp is hosting together with Christer Björkman in Annexet, Globen. It is time to give the eight contestants who were given a second chance to try to advance to the finale.

This is done – as usual – via four duels. The winner in each duel goes to the finale. Tonight those are;

A rainy grey Saturday. We’ve done our grocery shopping and tour to the waste disposal site (like we always do). Going to bake some this afternoon – need to have something nice for next weekend when we will have a small celebration for our youngest. Still have no idea what to give him – and he has no ideas what he wants. Hm.

A beautiful winters day – clear blue sky and -3C. My husband went skiing on the frozen lake this afternoon. We went shopping this morning and I have done laundry. Now I’m going to watch the biathlon on TV before it is time to start dinner.

Time for the first part of the Melodifestivalen. Due to the pandemic all shows will take place in Annexet, Stockholm Globe Arena, without an audience. As this is the last Melodifestivalen for Christer Björkman – the man in charge behind the scenes and producer since 20 years – he will host all the six shows with a different co-host each Saturday. First out is Lena Philipsson.

Due to the pandemic we will not be able to meet up with our friends and watch it together either – so we will hook up via Zoom before and maybe after to see each other this way for a bit. Difficult times require new ways to reach the goal.
