Today we received the yearly Xmas tree at work and it was really pretty. Perfect actually. On Sunday it is Advent 1st and a colleague had his birthday today so we decided to celebrate with saffron buns and warm mulled wine. A sneak preview of Christmas.

Can’t believe it’s been a week since the party. One part of me think it’s gone by really quickly – another part of me can’t believe it was only a week ago. Strange. No big plans this weekend – just doing bits and pieces and catching up on things that need doing such as grocery shopping etc.

Long day today. We didn’t get back from the airport until 01.30 this morning. But we got back alright and F had had a great time with this class.

After work me and a colleague had made plans to go and see a movie but we were both too tired so we decided to just have dinner and a chat and save the movie for another day. We had a great chat and time together and I hope we will be able to do it again soon.

Tonight F was invited to his old school together with two old classmates to answer questions and be some sort of role model for young kids trying to decide what school to choose. *proud mom*

This morning it was freezing outside. Had to put on extra everything not to get too cold going to work. But the bus and subway were on time and no delays so that was good.

I was able to get a lot done at home during the afternoon. Perfect. Just what I needed. Focus on things I can change.

Tonight we are going to pick up our youngest at the airport when he returns from his school trip. Late arrival so we will be tired tomorrow. I hope we will find him happy and content with his adventure.

Stockholm City turned on all the Xmas lights and decorations this weekend and yesterday I arrived early enough for the city to still sparkle with light. Soon it will still be dark when I arrive at 9 too.

Long busy day ahead. I have a lot of loose ends needing to be fixed. I have to focus and try to not stress. One thing at a time. Like a dear friend once told me “focus on the things you can change – and leave the rest”. Good advice.

I had made an appointment for a full body massage after work and it was just perfect. I am so glad I have found this gem – with some luck she will be available for a long time. She is great and it is close to work. Couldn’t be better.

Today my husband turned 50 years old and we celebrated with a dinner out. We asked my parents-in-law to join us too. Lovely. We had a nice dinner in Huddinge Centrum and made some plans for our upcoming trip after Xmas. I hope it will be as wonderful as our last one was.

We got up really early this morning to take our youngest to the airport south of Stockholm. He is going on a school trip with his English class to London for a few days. He got there ok and now I hope they will have a great couple of days and return with great memories on Wednesday.

After a short stop back at home we went to church for the yearly fair my mother and her friends are organizing every year. This might be the last one (but they have said that for a few years now.. lol). It was really nice and we met up our family for coffee. We won a Xmas-tree on the lottery! Perfect!

Slept in a bit today. We got home around 3 AM this morning so we are all a bit tired, to say the least, today. When we woke up the garden was covered with a thin layer of snow and it is a couple of degrees below 0C.

Going to spend my day tucked in my corner. I have enjoyed an episode of one of my favorite series “This is us” which started today. So much love! And heartache. And great actors!

My husband is turning 50 on Monday so we wanted to throw a party for our friends and family to celebrate him. On my birthday we focused on my friends and on his birthday we focused on his friends. We had the party in town and it turned out really nice! A few late cancellations for various reasons unfortunately. Good food and place and they had made a really nice setting for us and took care of the cleaning up after too, which was great.

Important day today – my mother celebrated her birthday! Me and my sister w/ families were invited over for dinner after work. Our mom had prepared a lovely meal with coffee and home made cake for afters which was really delicious!

We gave her an evening with with her daughters to enjoy in January – tickets to the musical “Ghost”. It’s supposed to be really good! So fun to receive activities and do things together. Time is precious!

The city is preparing for Xmas. The streets are getting their traditional decorations and today they put up the elk-family and the forest down on Sergels Torg. Nothing is lit up yet though – I guess they are waiting until this or the next weekend.

Managed to get a lot done today. Very busy with a lot of visitors and things to do. Took a walk after work to clear my head and think. Baked a cake when I got home – the boys were happy! Haven’t done that in a while.
