Midweek and a really late lunch after some over time. Went for a sesame street from Yoi – it’s a rice and chicken dish which is quite nice every now and then.
Been a busy bee all afternoon doing laundry, taking care of the cordial I made, finish putting the IKEA furnitures together and made dinner. Tonight my husband can do the finishing touches by adding the doors which is really not my cup of tea (and neither his to be honest, but he has to do it).
Now I have to try to get organized packing what we shall bring. Looked at the weather forecast and it seems promising. Except for midsummer – looks like it will be a rainy day.
Billy
A long busy day at work. Quite chilly this morning – then a heavy rainfall during the day – and nice and sunny on my way home. Now it has started to be very windy outside. My parents stopped by for a quick coffee and hello since they are leaving for our paradise tomorrow. It’s been so crazy lately we haven’t had time to see much of each other unfortunately. Now I wish them a safe journey and we will join them next month.
Last night we suffered through a visit to IKEA and tonight we put together some more of the furniture we bought. A challenge to anyone’s patience .. and strain to the marriage .. but eventually we’ll get there. Lol. One step at a time.
Lunch date
Last week before Midsummer so only four workdays. My oldest niece called to see if we could have lunch and of course we could! I love spending time with her. We went to TGI in Kungsträdgården to see if we could watch the soccer game but no luck. After lunch we window shopped a bit before it was time to head back home. A fun couple of hours of girl-time!
Busy afternoon helping M to organize his room – and busy evening going to IKEA to get a few bits and pieces that we needed to finish. Not going to put those pieces together tonight though. Saving that fun for tomorrow.
Sunday treat
Slept in a bit today since our guest stayed quite late. We had such a lovely evening! After lunch M went over to his friends and me and my husband walked over to the food-truck by Långsjöbo which serves home made ice-cream, sandwiches, waffles and coffee. We each had a coffee ice-cream and it was really delicious. Would have liked it to be a bit bigger though considering the price. But the ice-cream was really good!
Now it looks like it’s about to start raining any second so I’ve cuddled up in my corner with a coffee and some tv. I’ve started to pack a few things for our trip – getting organized. We have to bring one over-night bag to our second paradise for the first night since we haven’t spent the night there yet this year. So we will have a lot of packing with us. But – it will be fun!
Elder tree flowers
Weekend! The last one before it is time to start our long drive down to Belgium to pick up F. Yeah!
With the very warm weather lately my elder tree flowers started to bloom really early. And it is almost too late to pick them since they are almost out already. So I made a batch of home made cordial today since it takes five days for it to finish and I need to bottle it before we leave.
Tonight our friends came over and brought take-away-dinner to make the last bookings for our trip to Scotland in September. We chose the hotel for the last couple of nights and made reservations for a minivan to carry all 6 of us with luggage. Great. Now we are almost ready for our trip! Can’t wait!
Viper’s bugloss
What a week. An emotional rollercoaster. But I think I came out on top. A week filled with fun stuff too – a concert, hanging out with friends I don’t see so often and today a great chat with a dear friend after work. We met up at Medborgarplatsen and had a nacho plate in the sun and a great catch up.
Now I have the evening to myself. Enjoyed some ham, cheese and a few olives with some crackers. Made a bowl of dip and bought some crisps. White wine. And absolutely nothing on tv – might need to suffer through the soccer game between Spain and Portugal. Or not. We’ll see. Ronaldo just scored the first goal in the game.
Outside of our house a viper’s bugloss – blåeld – has started to grow. They are so typical in our paradise and you don’t see them that often here in Stockholm. Made me smile and feel like an angel is posted outside our house to keep us safe. Have a great evening!
Race 2 – STHLM 10
Time for the second race of the 4 x 10k races. This one was around Riddarfjärden with start and finish in Rålambshovsparken.
Peter completed the race in 47 min 22 sec and Jörgen was not far behind with 55 min 16 sec. Great job! And especially considering us having had a terrible week with a lot of lack of sleep and Jörgen being sick with some sort of flue.
After work I met up with my dear friend and her boyfriend and his family for a couple of hours. We sat in the park by Norra Bantorget where they have put up a huge tv-screen and showed soccer from the world championships. Russia vs. Saudi Arabia I believe. It was a lovely evening and nice to sit outside and catch up a bit. We didn’t really manage that last night after the concert, so I’m glad we were given another chance today.
Outdoor concert
What a great mid-week treat!
First work – then home for a bit. Then back into town to meet up with my husband for a dinner-date. Afterwards we went up to Mosebacke Terassen for an outdoor concert with Glasvegas – their 10th anniversary tour. So much fun to finally hear them live and also see my dear friends again!
After the concert we were invited to the after party at Södra Teatern where Magnus Carlsson was the dj. Got home really late with a big smile on my face!
Puh
I can’t remember the last time I felt this tired. Got a good 5 hrs sleep last night and this morning we went to pick up our son from the hospital.
Then I struggled through a full day at work with some overtime on top. A very busy day which actually passed by fairly quickly. The first half was the worst – then we had a celebration including some cinnamon rolls which put some new energy into my system. Lol. Definitely going to make it an early night. I’m behind on my sleep.
Time
A very strange day. Surgery was cancelled. They had made a mistake apparently. I honestly don’t know what to make of it beside being enormously grateful that he didn’t have to have surgery.
Unfortunately they had already put him to sleep when they realized their mistake so he couldn’t leave the hospital before he was up and running again, which took a while so he ended up having to stay another night. But we are so relieved of the outcome. And tired.
