Time to cheer on our team in the important game in the qualification round #3/5 in best of 5. We have two wins and need one more to remain in the highest league. After a bumpy first period where we were one step behind all the way we managed to turn the game around and win with the clear result of 31-21. And 3-0 in games. Yeah! Unfortunately two of our best players are leaving after this season and the players were greeted with flowers and standing ovations from the fans! They will be missed!
New theme.. 2017
Time to update the theme for this website – I know – it always takes a while to get used to changes but what is your spontaneous thought? Would love some reviews! Oh – and I also managed to create an app – add the page to your home screen on your mobile or iPad and – voilá! Oh – and it might present itself better if you turn your mobile sideways.. Comments, pls!
Started the day with a little treat.. Just because.. Then treated my family lasagna for dinner. Mmm..
Snow snow snow
This morning snow was covering the ground again and it was a couple of degrees below 0C. What happened to spring? I have washed my winter coat and put it away but I took it out again today. Brrrr.
Tuesday means a long day at work and today was no exception. Quite a busy day and very productive. Now it feels good to crash in my corner for a bit before it is time to hug my pillow.
Annandag påsk
Wonderful is short, as a poet once said. We are now forced to trade this amazing view for the one in our backyard in the city. We have had a really nice relaxing Easter break – a bit too cold but still nice weather with mostly sunshine and not too windy. One 45 min walk per day. Great company. Great food. And time away from the hectic every-day-life.
The trip back to the city was quite long (7,5 hrs) but the traffic wasn’t too bad with a few alternative routes to avoid some of it. It was snowing off and on all the way, but once here we have no snow in our neighborhood. Stopped and picked up a grilled chicken (or two) for dinner and now I’m tucked in my corner, with a coffee and the laundry is almost done.
Hammarby managed to win in the away-derby (yeah!) in soccer. Now fingers crossed they will win in the very important handball game that just started.
Påskdagen
Last full day in our paradise this time. It was really cold this morning (-3C) and we even received some snowflakes during the day but it has been quite a sunny day. We took a 45-min walk (south this time) towards Grönvik and back and it was really nice. Waffles for lunch along with left-overs from the smörgåsbord yesterday. Left-over cake (it turned out so cute!) for afternoon “fika” and then a delicious dinner with “isterband” (smoked pork sausage) served with my mothers dill-stewed potatoes. Yum!
We have also been outside for a bit – my sister collected yellow rocks from the beach and I placed them around one of the rosebushes and around the clematis we have by our house. It turned out very pretty! No sunset to enjoy tonight but still a very good day in our paradise.
Påskafton
I feel so spoiled – all day long I have received greetings from friends all over the world. My mom made me breakfast, my dad put up the Swedish flag. I got presents and phone calls from near and dear ones. The weather could have been a bit better though – it is cold outside and the sun hasn’t really been shining today. But, we did go for a walk to look at the project my dads cousin is working on – they are re-modelling their house here on Öland to be a permanent home all-year-round and they are moving here now. A big step but I can understand them.
We have enjoyed a really nice Easter day with a lovely “smörgåsbord”, played a game of Trivial Pursuit and some snacks with the nice wine my dad got for his birthday from mom&dad. A perfect birthday in our paradise!
Långfredag
Woke up in our paradise and this little cutie was sitting outside our door – a birthday present from my parents. Lovely! Thank you!
A very nice day – first we went grocery shopping in town for Easter. When we got back we took a nice walk after lunch – it was a bit chilly but sunny.
We made a real treat for dinner – took out the grill and bbq steaks and served them with french fries and the broccoli sallad Lorna makes – I got the recipe from mom. It turned out yummy! A nice sunset ended a nice day!
Skärtorsdag
I took the day off – and have enjoyed a quiet morning by myself getting ready to go down and join the family in our paradise. With some luck there will be little to no traffic (I know – wishful thinking) and an amazing sunset waiting for us when we arrive.
I have been working on the photo book from our California-trip and finished this morning. I hope it turned out good – I have ordered two copies – and as soon as they arrive I will send one to my American mom and dad, like I promised.
Enjoy the Maundy Thursday – are you prepared to greet the Easter witches with some candy?
???
A very un-pleasant day weather-wise – very cold with -3C this morning, slight rain and grey sky. But, after work I walked over to Kungsträdgården since I had heard the cherry treas have started to bloom. And boy – it was worth the walk over there even though it rained / hailed and made it less pleasant.
I was quite cold when I got home so I ran myself a bath – what a perfect afternoon – me-time in an empty house enjoying a bubble bath to warm up again. Lovely. And now I am off from work until Tuesday. Yeah!
Easter egg
Today we got a special treat delivered to the office – an enormous Easter-egg filled with chocolates. Yum. Definitely not good for my figure.. but what the heck. Lol.
A very long day at the office and my husband picked me up at the commuter train station since the bus didn’t match the train. 40 min in 40F was a bit too long for me to wait.. Now we’re home watching an episode of “Homeland” from last night enjoying a cup of tea and a house without kids. Doesn’t happen that often.
