The day has come – a very old traditional theme day (as a change to the new ones I have hardly heard of) – the national day of “semla”. It’s a bun filled with almond icing and whipped cream. Mmm.
The day “fettisdag” is connected to Christianity and always celebrated 47 days prior to Easter. It is a day when you are supposed to eat something rich and filling since it is the last day before the Easter fast starts. In France they celebrate this day under the name “Mardi Gras” (fat Tuesday).
