Take away
Finally Friday. This has been a long week in some ways.
We didn’t have any dinner waiting to be prepared tonight so we treated ourselves to a take away from the Thai place in Fruängen. I chose the fried rice with shrimp.
Now some corner time and then an early night. Tomorrow I am going away on a conference trip with my work so the next couple of days there will be no posts here besides a photo per day. The alarm is set to 4AM (!!!) and we are picking up a colleague who is living nearby. My hubby has offered to drive us to the airport – what a hero!
Falukorv
A perfect inexpensive midweek dinner – traditional “falukorv” with pasta. This kind of sausage is called “Falun Sausage” in English – a local dish that has received its own status. It is a quite mildly flavored kind preferably pan fried in slices.
It has been quite a sunny day today but not very warm, only 8C this morning as I went to work.
Work-wise it was quite busy today. I have had company all day which was great. Picked up some salad for lunch – the kind you put together yourself and pay by weight. Nice every once in a while.
BBQ
Had an appointment this morning for a checkup (everything was good) and decided to take a walk to work afterwards (about 2.5k). Nice.
Stayed for an extra hour since I arrived late due to the appointment. Have continued to figure out what to pack for our work-trip this weekend and I am starting to feel ok about what to bring.
We had some loin of pork for dinner and put them on the bbq since it is a lovely day today. Now we are fed and ready to cheer on our ladies playing quarter final in volleyball. Facing Italy tonight. Not a great start – fingers crossed they will pull it off.
Fika
Busy Tuesday with breakfast at work, birthday celebrations, meetings etc etc. Lots to do and a long day.
Got home and hubby had prepared dinner. Now we are fed and ready to go to my youngest niece and her boyfriend for some birthday celebrations.
A lovely evening with quality family time and fika awaits!
Last of August
A bit of a rainy start of the new week this last day of August. September awaits with a lot of fun things to look forward to.
Got home on time (almost) and had a quiet afternoon to myself. Made patties for dinner served with mash / pasta and lingonberry jam.
Now some corner time watching a couple of episodes of a Netflix series called “Spooky in Love”. Not sure I like it, but I will give it a go. We also started watching the Swedish series “Tills döden skiljer oss” yesterday. So far so good!
Eventful day
Today I reached a 1500 day streak of Duolingo! Amazing.
My husband has cleaned our spa today so it is ready to be enjoyed during chilly fall evenings or cold winter days. Lovely.
Last day of Finnkampen – and I watched it from the comfort of my corner. Just made a break to cheer on our team in the derby towards AIK (which we lost 3-2 after a very eventful game we should have won).
After the second day – congratulations to Finland who won 3 out of 4 and congratulations to our Swedish ladies!

Rainy day
A rainy Saturday. We have done our regular chores and now we can enjoy some indoor time due to the bad weather. Tomorrow it will clear up so then we will probably work outside.
This weekend it is time for Finnkampen – but it is held in Helsinki this year so we won’t attend. But, they send it on TV so we can follow the competition from the comfort of our corners. Lovely. Go Sweden!

Friday
Today we had made reservations at Napolyon for lunch. One of our favorite restaurants but we haven’t been there in ages. The dish of the day was fish & chips and it was delicious.
Had a nice afternoon at home and prepared a beef dinner with potato gratin for dinner.
Now some corner time watching another couple of episodes of “Dark” – let the weekend begin!
Yellow rose
This year my roses on the frontside of our house have bloomed a lot but they haven’t grown as tall as last year for some reason. This yellow beauty is still in bloom with new buds waiting to bloom. Lovely.
Long day today and not too much on so I got home on time. Even left a bit early because I needed to hand in an envelope to the courier center.
Made a wok for dinner with chicken. Now some time in front of the TV before it is time to hug my pillow. I hope I will sleep better tonight – had some things that bothered my mind last night. Hopefully those chimaeras are gone tonight.
