25

25 years ago I went to M/S Dixie Queen for a dance-night out with my sister and her boyfriend and a bunch of friends in common. Among thoseimage friends I met my husband. He was friends with friends of mine but we had never met before. And now we have spent more than half of our lives together.

These lovely flowers were waiting for me when I came home today. They really gave me a sense of spring-feeling. My husband is enjoying some fancy chocolate that I brought with me home.

Back to the real world

Twpid-img_20140830_111416.jpghe drive home yesterday was endless.. It took close to 10 hours due to really bad weather and heavy traffic. Not fun.

It was good to be back though – almost all snow was gone and today the sun has been shining for a little while before it started to rain.. I haven’t walked around our house yet so I don’t know if there are any flowers yet or not. But I can’t see any from our windows so maybe not.

Winterbreak over

Time goes by too quickly when having fun.image

We have had a great week – even though the weather Gods were somewhere else this holiday. Time to head back to civilization and the real world. It is snowing pretty hard here in Trysil and no spring in sight yet. I hope there might be some flowers in our garden when we get home.

Mello – 4

image

Tonight it’s the last round of the Melodifestivalen and we will watch it here in Norway.  Luckily they have Swedish channels here. A very foggy day today but we will keep up our good effort and ski anyway. Last night my husband and youngest tried the evening ski event and received a couple of new pins to the collection.

The competitors tonight in Örebro :

1. Midnight Boy
2. Caroline Wennergren
3. JTR
4. Hasse Andersson
5. Dinah Nah
6. Annika Herlitz
7. Måns Zelmerlöw

Straight to the finale; JTR and Måns Zelmerlöw
Second chance; Dinah Nah and Hasse Andersson

Knettsetra

Another snowy day with no sunshine but we have been skiing imageall day anyway.

Today we had lunch in the middle of the slopes at a really cozy little inn. Their goulash was famous and I can understand why. But they didn’t want to give me the recipe..

Windy

A new day – new challenges! Much better snow today and my body felt slightly better after a resting day. It has been snowing off and on all day and when we got up to the top it was quite windy too. 14m/sec (31 miles/hr). But I managed two rides down before lunch! Yeah!

Our snowboarder decided to switch to skis for a couple of days to get a new challenge. We had a great day in the slopes today.

Fifteen

A really bad ski-day for all of us – it was warm and a bit rainy so the snow was really heavy and wet. I gave up afteimager a few minutes and the rest gave up after an hour or two. We went down to Trysil for lunch and a treat to bring back for the afternoon tea. Tonight our birthday boy chose bowling for the family and he beat us all the first round. The second round his brother took the gold medal. It was a good birthday I think. Let’s hope it will get colder tomorrow so the skiing experience will be better!

Triple effort

Aimagenother snowy day but today I managed three times down the whole hill before lunch!

The lift is about 2 km long! Each run takes almost 30 min and my muscles burn pretty bad after a while. My body will be sooo sore tomorrow.

Snow snow snow

Got up early and enjoyed a hotel breakfast – then the two most eager skiers went out ahead of me and my oldest and then we joined them when we were ready. I am so proud of myself – rode the whole hill (blue/green one I know) but I am so out of practice that was enough for me for a first day. Now we are relaxing a bit while the eager skiers are out there for another couple of hours..

Travel

Traveled all day and stopped for a coffee where this amazing goat was keeping an eye on us. Now safely checked in at our hotel in Trysil.

Let the fun begin!
