Ascension Day

It has been all kinds of weather today – this Ascension day. Right now the sun is shining and it is lovely outside – but it started to rain a couple of hours ago when I was outside.

A day off from work awpid-img_20140522_195815.jpgnd school – a nice family day at home. Slept in for a little bit – but then I’ve been a busy bee all day. Laundry, groceries, yard work, vacuuming and moped the floors. And I also squeezed in some time in my corner watching a bit of ice hockey since it is quarter final day today.

USA – Switzerland 3-1
Canada – Belarus 9-0
Finland – Czechia and 3-5
Sweden – Russia 3-5

Picanha tonight

Since it is Ascension Day tomorrow we had reduction of wpid-img_20141008_133034.jpgworking hours today. Very busy day though since everyone wanted to squeeze a whole day into a half day..

It’s been raining all day so my raincoat was just perfect – even though you have to put on a brave face to wear it.. Lol.

Going to cook a Brazilian steak tonight called picanha. A lot of beef for hardly any money. And very tasty too. Perfect!

Donut

imageWhat a day. We decided we deserved an extra treat – so on the way back home we stopped by the donut-place and bought a box with six goodies. Very colorful. And very yummy.

No ice hockey today. What shall I do then.. Lol. Have to wait until Thursday. Might be a good evening to catch up on some episods   we have recorded. Lovely.

Last round

Monday again. Don’t know what happened to the weekend – iwpid-img_20140327_085030.jpgt just disappeared. But it was a great weekend with lots of fun things and also relaxation.

Last game in first round tonight in the ice hockey world championships. On Thursday it is time for the quarter finals to start. If we manage to win that one we can hold our heads up high. Might need to put on my jersey for that game..

Mother’s Day

Today it is Mother’s Day in the US – Happy Mother’s Day, dearwpid-img_20150414_190645.jpg American mom! (My Swedish mom will have to wait a couple of weeks for her congratulations – and I do too..)

A rainy grey Sunday doesn’t invite to any long forrest walks unfortunately, but in a couple of hours we are going to our team gym clubs 50th anniversary show. My youngest will not participate but we will cheer on my niece!

Have a nice day everyone!

Bungee walking sticks

imageToday I actually managed to sleep in a bit. Doesn’t happen too often. After a nice breakfast – indoor (it looked very nice outside but it was a bit too chilly) we took a walk in the forrest and I tried my new bungee walking sticks. Shall be interesting to see if they will work their magic.

This afternoon we have enjoyed my niece’s dance show – she and two friends had a number of their own which they have choreographed themselves which was great! Proud auntie!

Tonight we play our 6th game – this time towards Switzerland. Should be interesting. We definitely need to step up from the previous game when they barely beat Germany.

PS! We won after overtime.. 5 wins 1 loss so far

Friday treat

Fwpid-img_20141009_123031.jpgriday finally arrived .. met up with another old friend today after work and sat down for an hour and chatted and enjoyed a latte. It was a really good catch up – we decided to do it again sometime. Sooner rather than later.

It’s been a good week in that regards – with me having a couple of get-togethers with my friends and I have really enjoyed it. Now we have a couple of weeks ahead when we will be very busy with more serious things. But, one day at a time.

Family will be back home again tonight – all four of us – for the first time all week. Nice.

Lunchdate

Today it almost felt like summer outside. It is so hard to dress in imagethe morning when you have all sorts of degrees and weather during the day.

I had a really good day today with both a lunch date and then a dinner date. First with my BFF and then with my oldest son.

Now we are back home again – tucked in a corner each – enjoying an episode of “Elementary” before it is time to cheer on  Tre Kronor in their fifth game in the tournament. Facing Germany tonight.

PS! Won 4-3 after a way too scary game..

Midweek again

IMG_20140221_155439Important game tonight – facing Canada. I have great faith in our team but tonight I think we might need some luck too..

It was raining really bad this morning – then the sun came out for a bit and it got really warm. But now black clouds are starting to move back in over the sky again. We’ll see what they might bring.

PS! We lost 4-6 after taken the lead 3-0 in the first period.

AW

After work I met up with two of my friends. We go a long way imageback and have been able to stay in touch through the years. We started school back in 1975 and in 1995 we decided to have a class reunion. It was a big success with 23 out of 26 members of the old class attending. So, we had another reunion in 2005 which was almost as well attended as the first one. Now, it’s been another 10 years so we thought we would give it a go again and met up to check out a few choices of restaurants and also discuss dates and form of invitation.

We have a plan! Let’s hope we manage to pull it off this time too!
