Emerald

Today my parents have been married for 55 years – emerald wedding anniversary! Congratulations! You two are the best parents anyone could wish for. We have always felt loved, seen, heard and appreciated. You are a true inspiration! I hope you have had a nice day and treated yourselves something nice for dinner and maybe a nice glas of wine or two.

Happy anniversary! May you have many more to come! Love you tons!

113 – Anette

Today my grandpa would have turned 113 years old if he still would be with us. I am very fond of this photo of the four of us – my oldest son is the only one of my and my sisters children who met him. Our grandpa passed away the same spring as my oldest niece was born.

This day still has good cause for celebrations – partly to honor the memory of grandpa but also because it is my sisters names day – Anette – today. Congratulations!

Roe

A sunny midweek day and we have visitors in our backyard enjoying the apples that have fallen from the tree. They are not scared at all, guess they are used to being observed. I think it is nice with all this wildlife right outside my window. As long as they don’t snack on my roses..

We had meatballs with baked common beans for lunch. Delicious. Since I skipped having salad for lunch I guess I will have salad for dinner instead. Lol. Going to make spagetti bolognese / meatballs for the others.

Restrictions phasing out

Today the FHM announced that the corona restrictions will enter a new phase as of September 29th and that they will gradually allow people to go back to work. Sounds amazing if we could go back to some sort of normal again. Miss my colleagues. The recommendation to work from home remains if you are sick or have any symptoms.

Long busy day at work and now we have enjoyed some pork filet with veggies for dinner. Walked over to our local grocery store after dinner to get some more cottage cheese for lunch tomorrow. Now some corner time before it is time to hug my pillow.

Tuna

Monday again and short day. After work I made myself a tuna salad for lunch. Trying to vary my salads as much as possible and this one turned out pretty good.

Tried to relax some this afternoon to not stress so much. I’ve started to watch “Downton Abbey” on Netflix. I haven’t followed the series when it was sent on TV – just watched an episode here and there. So I thought I’d watch the whole thing. And I love it – the characters are really good. It’s a lot of seasons so it will keep me busy for a while.

Finnkampen – day 2

Another sunny nice day with great performance and results. Today the competition started already at noon and finished around 4PM. So it wasn’t as cold to sit and watch today as it was last night.

After the event was finished the national team members threw our track&field manager in the water ditch – a tradition that goes way back. It was also her last event as manager – KarinTorneklint  is leaving after 8 years in charge. Now Kajsa Bergqvist is taking over the position – so they threw her in the ditch too. Lol.

Results after the second day:
Men Sweden 230 – Finland 201
Women Sweden 223,5 – Finland 207,5

Boys Sweden 108 – Finland 101
Girls Sweden 102 – Finland 110

Finnkampen – day 1

Back again. On a track&field event. At the Olympic Stadium in Stockholm. Finnkampen. Me and my parents had a great afternoon/evening cheering on our Swedish competitors. A sunny day but quite chilly towards the end – glad I had packed lots of warm clothes to add one piece whenever I needed to.

A lot of good results especially in the running events. Almgren managed to break the 49 year old Finnkampen record on 5000m from 1972 so that was pretty special.

Results after the first day:
Men Sweden 125 – Finland 101
Women Sweden 113 – Finland 91

ABBA reunion

Big news for all ABBA-fans out there. After 40 years they are releasing new music again. Two songs to start with – eight more to come and the full album – ABBA Voyage – is being released Nov 5th, 2021. Should be interesting. They are planning a digital concert in London next spring.

Tonight we are going to celebrate my niece with a nice family dinner. M will not be coming along – he has a cold. He took an antigene-test which came back negative and the rest of us don’t have any symptoms. So I hope we are doing the right thing seeing the family. The others are ok with us coming of course.

Soccer

Tonight our men soccer team is playing another World Cup qualifier game facing Spain this time here in Stockholm. The game is broadcasted on TV and starts later on tonight. I will start watching it but I’m not sure I will be able to watch til the end. I am so tired in the evenings.

Long day at work today. But it has been quite nice weather. Went to Fruängen after work to pick up some stuff from the pharmacy and also to pick up some dinner. I had a salad and the others skewers and fries. Now some corner time while I’m waiting for the game to start.

PS! I did watch the whole game and we won 2-1! Yeah!

Office time

I had a meeting that I had to do in person this afternoon so I took a cab in to work and spent the day at the office. Nice to slowly adjust back to being there. And so nice to see a few colleagues and chat some during our lunch hour. I’ve missed that so much. Great to see them again!

Now I am back home again and crashed for a bit before it is time to sort out dinner. Don’t know what we are having yet. My hubby is stuck in an online meeting so we haven’t had a chance to decide. We might have to go and get something.
