Happy anniversary, mom & dad! Great fond memories from our trip four years ago to Vienna. We had such a fun trip and the weather was really on our side. We should do it again sometime.
Vienna was a beautiful city and I would love to return one day. Feels impossible to plan trips right now with the travel restrictions and countries in lockdown.
Texted some with our youngest. Things are going in the right direction. Good.
Breathe
After a very long wait we finally got words that the surgery went according to plan. Puh. One day at a time and praying for a quick painless recovery.
Went to my physio to take my minds off of things. It was raining a bit as I walked there but not too bad.
Made pork chops with oven baked potatoes and carrots for dinner. Now we are watching another couple of episodes of “Morden i Sandhamn”.
Grass mowing
When we woke up this morning someone had cut the area outside of our house. Finally.
It has been raining a bit today but also some sunny moments. Worked a full day so no walk or physio today.
Finished some left-overs – both for lunch and dinner. Nice to make use of perfectly good food. Now we are enjoying some track & field on tv while digesting the food. Feels like bad weather is on the way – having a slight headache which I usually do when thunder is coming.
Fall colors
Today it really started to feel like fall was on the way. It was only 5C when I got up this morning and about 8C when I walked to my physio.
Short day today and a lovely afternoon which was great. Spent some time outside and took a couple of photos of my garden flowers. Can’t wait for the spring to arrive and see if the new bulbs survived the winter and if they will bloom where I planted them.
Tonight we picked up some thai food. This morning my oldest took an online test which he think went well. Fingers crossed he will pass and get the credits. Worth celebrating! Also, tomorrow my youngest will go back to the hospital for another surgery. So, it was nice to make this dinner extra special for us all.
Finnkampen – day 2
Sunday already – time goes by too quickly. I’ve been lazy today and watched the second day of the two-nations competition. It was a good day with many good events and in the end Sweden won both the men and women competition. Yeah.
Results after the second day:
Men Sweden 206 – Finland 201
Women Sweden 221 – Finland 186Next year the competition is back here in Stockholm again – as far as I know. Hopefully the covid19-situation is under control by then and we can attend the event on site instead of watching it from the TV.
We’ve been working some in the garden in-between the events. I’ve cut my roses and my husband has finished re-doing the outdoor area by the spa. Looks great. Next step next weekend.
Coffee outside
We went shopping after breakfast – needed some new flower bulbs and also groceries. After lunch my parents stopped by for a lovely chat and coffee outside. As they got ready to walk back home, the sky opened up and all of a sudden it was pouring down. So I gave them a ride back.
This weekend the old traditional track & field competition between Finland and Sweden – Finnkampen – takes place in Finland. Under normal circumstances my parents would be there to cheer on our Swedish athletes, but this year with the pandemic we all had to buy “couch-tickets” instead to support our team.
Results after the first day:
Men Sweden 104 – Finland 120
Women Sweden 103 – Finland 80No youth competition this year due to the covid19 situation.
Domherren
Friday already. This week went by quite quickly. First day with no visit to the hospital this week. Yeah.
Had quite a good day at work and was able to do some good. After work me and my oldest went on our weekly walk in the forrest. There are a couple of different paths to choose between and our favorite is called the bullfinch – domherren. A 3.5k walk in quite challenging terrain. 1.5k back and forward to the forrest gives us a 5k walk which takes us about 75 min.
Made sirloin steak for dinner which turned out great. Yum. Now I’m enjoying a glass of red to start the weekend.
Keep Me A Space
Took my oldest to his appointment before work today and then picked him up again during my lunch-break. Good to have great new music to enjoy in the car during the drive – can’t wait for the album to arrive. This is just the first single.
Worked a long day today and I’ve been quite busy so that’s great. Now I’ve crashed for a bit trying to figure out what to serve the troops for dinner. The never-ending-story. Most of the things we have at home are apparently “lunch-food”.. Lol.
Physio
Wednesday means physio and let me introduce one of the things I use in my training – meet the “bosu balance equipment”. I am supposed to stand on it – one foot on each side about shoulder wide – keeping my balance and doing squats. Quite tricky before I got the hang of it but now I’m doing it with no problems.
Quick visit to the hospital before work since the line was crazy yesterday and it turned out to be a good choice. We had to wait for a while but we made it home in time for work and class.
We treated ourselves chicken tikka masala for lunch – nuggets for they boys – so we finished some left-overs for dinner. So hard to decide what to eat – I’m running out of ideas.
Tuesday treat
Busy Tuesday with a long day. I had things to do all day which was great. Love to keep busy. Also we went to the hospital for a quick visit before lunch. It was really busy there so we have to go back tomorrow since the line was way longer than we had time to wait.
Tonight we bbq these lovely “isterband” – a smoked pork sausage. Served with chives stewed potatoes and veggies. Oven baked potatoes and bbq fork filet for the boys. Not bad for a Tuesday.
