Pyssel hos S – 24 Jan 2017

Pysseldags!

Late lunch

Stayed a bit after work due to a meeting so I ended up having my lunch at 14.30 waiting for my bus. And what can be better than a “tunnbrödrulle” ? They sure can taste good sometimes.

Got home and decided to take care of the pile of ironing that doesn’t iron itself. I tried to wait it out but no luck. A couple of loads of laundry later it was time to start dinner. Ham schnitzel with boiled potatoes and broccoli. Now everybody is fed and happy and it is soon time to go and hug my pillow. But first some tv in my corner. Guldbaggegalan tonight (the Swedish version of the Oscars Gala).

Planning

We have a great trip ahead of us – my sister and I are going to California together with our parents to visit my American parents. They have never met each other so this is like a dream-come-true for me. My sister has seen them a couple of times before though. Since we will not be there for more than 8 days (10 days away from home) we need to make up a plan in order to get the most out of our trip. We have come up with a plan and I will run it past our American friends to see if they agree with our suggestions or have something else in mind for us.

Just enjoyed a great 8th final where Sweden absolutely crushed Belarus. 41-22. Next quarter-final towards France. In France. A nearly impossible task it seems, but Sweden has played amazingly well so far so one never knows. One day of rest – next game on Tuesday.

Walk around the lake

Couldn’t sleep so well last night for some reason. And woke up early (no surprise). Why is it so hard to rest and sleep in a bit when you are allowed to? A mystery. No, not really. I have too much on my mind.

A friend called this afternoon and asked if I wanted to join her for a walk around the lake. I heard myself say “yes” (!!!) and so I did. It was a lovely walk – a bit slippery though with all the ice everywhere – and I do need to get out of my corner and get moving. I do walk a lot during the weeks – but never long distances. Today we walked 6k which, with the roads being so slippery, took us 1 hr 20 min. The photo was taken during another walk – today there was no snow on the lake. Just ice.

A take-away dinner on the menu tonight.

Sunrise

This morning the sky was really showing off. The sunrise was quite spectacular and I couldn’t resist taking a photo.

A good day at work – quite productive and it felt great to go home and start the weekend with no loose ends left. Well, of course, I have a to-do list for Monday but I was able to finish everything I wanted.

Friday roast in the oven. A glass of red. And the last game in the group play of handball to enjoy. Have a great weekend!

Morning coffee

Got into town a bit early today so I had time to sit down and enjoy a coffee before going to the office. I really appreciate that moment of me-time before I have to be on my toes and assist everyone who needs help.

A friend from out of town was in the city today and we managed to meet up for lunch. A nice break in a busy day.

Stuck on the train

Finally we managed to have that lunch date that we have been forced to postpone a couple of times. It was great to see her and chat for a bit over some good sushi.

Going back home was a mess – there were some problems with the subway tracks so we were stuck for 45 min. Didn’t get home until 4pm. Not my idea of fun.

Another game of handball to enjoy tonight. Qatar is our opponent this time. But we have already advance to the next round regardless of the outcome. Now we need to get a got placing in the group for our coming possibilities to reach the next level.

Tuesday

A really cold start of the day with -8C but about 0C going back from work. When I work late I usually take the commuter train back to the suburbs since they match the evening buses better.

A very busy long day and I am exhausted. Tucked in my corner with a dinner plate in my lap – left-over pieces of pork fillet and a fried egg served with what was left of the sweet corn. And a glas of fizzy water. What a treat. Lol.

Another week

This morning it was dark in the city without all the Xmas decorations. Miss them already.. lol. I really like how our city has made an effort in decorating some of the streets around town. Looks very pretty.

It’s been snowing off and on all day and the temperature is about -4C again. Brrr.

Been trying to put a plan together for our upcoming trip. So much fun to choose from – so little time to do it all. Have to make some choices – let’s hope we’ll make good ones.

No more Xmas .. for a while

Hilarymas Day (Tjugondag Knut) occurred the other day and we are supposed to say goodbye to Xmas for a while. As you can see, Nelson has made a mess of our tree this year yet again.. He looks a bit ashamed, don’t you think? I rescued all the tree decorations yesterday, and today we took down the tree and also changed the curtains and table cloths into more spring-like ones. And tucked away all the other decorations too – santas, elves, red candles, candle rings etc etc,  The outdoor lights can stay up for a while longer since it still is quite dark here in the mornings and afternoons.

Have a great Sunday everyone!
